 Een lading nieuwe trailers van familie flicks zijn op internet verschenen, laten we beginnen met de hilarische martial arts animatiefilm Kung Fu Panda. De stemmen worden verzorgd door Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Lucy Liu, Dustin Hoffman and the one and only Drunken Master, a.k.a Jackie Chan! I can't wait to check this out!!! Next up, ook een grappige, de trailer van Igor! De cast bestaat uit John Cusack, Steve Buscemi, Jay Leno, Eddie Izzard, Sean Hayes, John Cleese, Molly Shannon, Jennifer Coolidge en, terug van weggeweest, Arsenio Hall! Klik hier voor de trailer.
Okay, deze trailer is een beetje disturbing maar ook freakin' awesome! Waarschijnlijk is de trailer beter dan de hele film, klik hier voor singing Chihuahuas in... Beverly Hills Chihuahua. Aaahh, ik krijg die honden niet uit mijn kop!
Ook een beetje disturbing, de eerste pic van Josh Brolin (No Country for Old Men) als George W. Bush in Oliver Stone's biopic W! The Clone Wars!:
De poster van Star Wars: The Clone Wars is nu online! De animatiefilm wordt deze zomer in de Amerikaanse bioscoop gelanceerd, daarna verschijnt een TV serie op de beeldbuis. Here's the official synopsis;
"Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Padmé Amidala are on the front lines of an intergalactic struggle between good and evil, along with brand-new heroes like Anakin's Padawan Ahsoka. Newsflash:
Chris Wedge (Ice Age) gaat het kinderboek The Invention of Hugo Cabret verfilmen. De live action flick vertelt het verhaal van een jongen die in de muren van een treinstation in Parijs woont.
Rapper-turned-actor Common vergezelt Christian Bale in Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins. Common speelt de rol van freedom fighter en lid van John Connor's team.
Susan Sarandon, Bill Pullman en Josh Lucas zijn te zien in de psychologische thriller Peacock. Het verhaal speelt zich af in een klein plaatsje waar het leven van een bankier op zijn kop wordt gezet door een treinongeval in zijn achtertuin.

The Terminator... for kids!:
This sucks!!! De producers zijn van plan om een kids-friendly PG-13 Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins te maken! Een breder publiek zorgt namelijk voor meer geld, maar
het heeft wel invloed op de kwaliteit van de film. Alien versus Predator en Live Free or Die Hard zijn bijvoorbeeld ook voor een jonger publiek gemaakt terwijl de voorgangers keiharde actiefilms waren. Ik hoop
dat de studio zich bedenkt! Cyborgs ripping the flesh off their endo-skeletons, lots of blood, hardcore action, that's all I want! De nieuwe Terminator flick wordt geregisseerd door McG, de cast bestaat uit Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, Anton Yelchin en Moon Bloodgood.

Rick Yune is te zien in de martial arts flick Ninja Assassin. The Wachowski brothers produceren de film, James McTeigue (V for Vendetta) verzorgt de regie. De Koreaanse actor-singer Rain speelt de rol van een ninja die het traditionele leven van zijn clan probeert te ontvluchten. "Not to give too much away, but my character stays within what he was brought up with, and they go up against each other," vertelde Yune, "I'm not a heavy. Het is geen filmnieuws, maar zeer interessant voor de fans, Smallville's Michael Rosenbaum, die de rol van Lex Luthor speelt, gaat de serie verlaten! "It is time for me to start the next chapter of my life and career," vertelde Rosenbaum, "I hope that I gave you some enjoyment over the years, and that you found my portrayal of Lex Luthor to be satisfying." J.J. Abrams talks Star Trek:
Regisseur J.J. Abrams is druk met zijn Star Trek film, dat de franchise een nieuwe impuls moet geven. De jonge cast van de Enterprise crew bestaat uit Chris Pine als Kirk, Zachary Quinto als Spock, Karl Urban als Dr. McCoy, Simon Pegg als Scott, John Cho als Sulu, Zoe Saldana als Uhura en Anton Yelchin als Chekov. De regisseur sprak over zijn production, check this out;
"It was an opportunity to take what I think has been a maligned world - to sound crass, a franchise - and treat it in a way that made it something that I wanted to see. To take the characters, the thoughtfulness, the personalities, the sense of adventure, the idea of humanity working together, the sense of social commentary and innovation, all that stuff. To take it and apply it in a way that felt genuinely thrilling.
The whole point was to try to make this movie for fans of movies, not fans of Star Trek, necessarily. If you're a fan, we've got one of the writers who's a devout Trekker, so we were able to make sure we were serving the people who are completely enamored with Star Trek. But we are not making the movie for that contingent alone.
It's a chance to see what Kirk and Spock would look like done now. What's thrilling about it is how great the cast is, how remarkably talented and funny and just spot-on they all are.
I feel like this is so unlike what you expect, so unlike the Star Trek you've seen. At the same time, it's being true to what's come before, honoring it. I can say the effects for Star Trek have never, ever been done like this. ... I can only tell you the idea of the universe of Star Trek has never been given this kind of treatment."

Brandon Routh talks Superman!!!:
Nu de Justice League film niet van de grond komt, is de Superman sequel back in business! Brandon Routh vertelde wat zijn verwachtingen zijn voor The Man of Steel;
I expect that we'll be working early next year. I know that Bryan Singer has pretty much finished out "Valkyrie" and is back in the states and is zeroing in on the story that he wants to tell. Once that arrives it's going to move pretty quickly. I think that everybody is getting excited. It's been three years now, really. It's hard to believe that it's been long, but everyone is getting jazzed and ready to go again. I certainly am.
Well, I think that something that audiences are looking for - and I certainly am, too - is for Superman to actually be able to lay a punch on someone or something. I was filming and I thought, I haven't really hit anything. I feel like I'm going to need to let some of this anger out. So I'm happy that I think that's going to be a central part of the sequel, getting a good villain that we can actually have physical altercations with. Certainly also, I'd like more humor from Clark or just more of Clark and Jimmy. A little bit more of Lois and Clark, how we used to see them, a bit more of buddies. Perhaps things will be smoothed over with Superman and Lois and she can afford to be a little bit nicer to Clark. I think that's something that people want to see and those are some of the great moments from previous "Superman" films. Also, Superman and Lois getting together, that's always my end goal. I want that to happen. The romantic in me wants that to happen eventually whether they're finally together in this movie or in whatever future films there might be. I kind of want to see that happen.

Newsflash:
Mel Gibson is ready to get back in front of the camera! De acteur vertolkt de hoofdrol in de thriller Edge of Darkness dat gebaseerd is op een BBC mini-serie uit 1985 en gaat over een agent die de moord op zijn dochter probeert op te lossen. Martin Campbell (Casino Royale, GoldenEye) die de serie regisseerde, neemt ook de zaken waar voor de film. William Monahan (The Departed) schreef het script. Source: Variety

Guillermo Del Toro talks The Hobbit!:
Guillermo Del Toro, de regisseur van The Hobbit, sprak over zijn komende avontuur in Middle Earth! Del Toro heeft inmiddels contact gehad met Andy Serkis, Ian McKellen, composer Howard Shore en WETA's Richard Taylor. De regisseur schiet twee films back to back, check this out;
"You know, I traveled to New Zealand just a little while ago, and one of the main reasons for going was to sit down and talk about the second film. 'The Hobbit', the book, is really one self-contained film, so for the second movie we sat down and worked it out. When we did this we got really excited because this second film is not a 'tag on', it's not 'filler', it's an integral part of telling the story of those 50 years of history lost in the narrative. There will be certain things that we will see from the first movie but from a different point of view, but it will feel like a volume, in the 5 volumes of the entire story. It will not feel like a bridge, I've been hearing it called 'a bridge film', it's not, it's an integral chapter of the story, and I think we're all on the same page.
What I'm trying to do is keep the elements in place but allow you to feel a progression from 'The Hobbit' until 'The Return of the King'. I believe 'The Hobbit' is a very crucial volume in The Lord of the Rings, it is a narrative that starts out very much in an innocent and golden way. It is permeated from England going through World War One, so there is a loss of innocence and a darker tone as the book and the film progresses. We'll be doing that in the first film, taking you from a time of more purity to a darker reality throughout the film, but I think that is in the spirit of the book. All these guys, Alan Lee, John Howe, these guys are integral for us to map out that progress in the two movies, and allow you to completely blend in to the universe that is already in place. But this will be a progression, it should not feel at the start of the film that this is the same time (as the beginning of 'Fellowship'). 50 years in Shire time, is not the same as 50 years in human time, if you think about how our world has changed in only 7 or 8 years, you can think of it as decades of turmoil, those 50 years in Middle-earth."

Hi guys, excuses voor de vertraagde update, ik was de afgelopen twee dagen aan het 'cave-biken' in het zuiden van het land. Gelukkig ben ik heelhuids teruggekeerd, so lets bring you up to speed on the latest news;
It's official, Guillermo Del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth) is de regisseur van de twee Hobbit flicks! De director, die iets weg heeft van een Mexicaanse hobbit, verhuist naar New Zealand waar de komende vier jaar de films back to back worden geschoten, het verhaal zal uiteindelijk een opstap zijn naar The Fellowship of the Ring. Peter Jackson is gelukkig ook van de partij, deze keer alleen als executive producer en writer, samen met Fran Walsh. Source: Variety
De Israelische actrice Ayelet Zurer en voormalige Jedi master, Ewan McGregor, vergezellen Tom Hanks in de prequel (or is it a semi-sequel) van The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons. Ron Howard is terug voor het 'action' en 'cut' gedeelte. Source: Variety
