Frank Darabont talks The Mist:
Regisseur Frank Darabont (The Green Mile) sprak met Fangoria over zijn
nieuwste project The Mist dat gebaseerd is op het boek van Stephen King. De film vertelt het verhaal van een groep mensen die
opgesloten zitten in een supermarkt. Een vreemde mist verschijnt waaruit gigantische monsters komen. Frank Darabont vertelt het volgende:
"Finally, my low-budget monster flick! And no, it will not be for television. There's been some confusion out there in geek land about that.
THE MIST is a very scary and memorable story. one of Steve's best 'muscular' short pieces, with characters in the kind of pressure-cooker environment that nobody writes as well as King. I intend to be faithful to the material, so I think the movie will be good. Whether it's a studio picture or not, I want to go with a very gritty, low-budget indie approach. Big-budget gloss would work against the material, plus I'm excited about trying my hand at a more seat-of-the-pants filmmaking approach on this one than I've used in the past."
Klinkt geweldig, ben benieuwd hoe Frank dit gaat filmen. Well, dat was het weer voor deze week, moet nu een feestje voorbereiden, want ben weer een jaartje
ouder geworden.... maar de volgende update zal (hopelijk) dit weekend plaatsvinden.

Golden Globes Awards 2005:
De nominaties van de 62nd annual Golden Globe Awards zijn bekend! De grote winnaars worden waarschijnlijk The Aviator, Closer, Finding Neverland en Million Dollar Baby. Deze
films hebben de meeste nominaties ontvangen. The Golden Globe Awards is een goede graadmeter voor de Oscars. Klik hier

Van Damme back in the ring?:
Okay, het is geen filmnieuws maar wil dit graag even delen met de lezers, vooral de K-1 fans. Jean-Claude Van Damme is plan
om de ring in te stappen en ziet zichzelf als de winnaar van de K-1 World Title. "I am planning to go back to fighting next year when I am 45," vertelde Van Damme, "I gave up fighting a long time ago because it offers no perspectives and there are people who do not respect their art.
But now I want to fight again to prove something to myself. I'd be the first actor to fight in K-1 and also the oldest competitor."
Ben heel benieuwd of JC ook in een "echt" gevecht zijn tegenstander knock out kan slaan maar ik denk wel dat hij onze Nederlanders, (Ernesto Hoost, Remi Bonjasky en Peter Aerts), allemaal K-1 champions, flink onderschat.

Magneto movie?:
Een interessante headline voor vandaag, binnenkort X-men 3, een Wolverine stand-alone film en volgens Variety krijgen we ook
een Magneto movie! Sheldon Turner (The Longest Yard) gaat het script schrijven; "I pitched a film that is almost 'The Pianist' meets 'X-Men,' about a guy who, after watching his family slaughtered, has an awakening of his powers and seeks revenge."
De film zal het verhaal vertellen van een 'jonge' Magneto en zijn eerste ontmoeting met Professor X. Xavier was toen een soldaat van de geallieerden die mensen redde uit de concentratiekampen. De eerste X-Men film opende met een scène waarin Magneto werd
opgesloten in een concentratiekamp en daar zijn krachten ontdekte.

They're all back at number 1! Ocean's Twelve is op de eerste plaats van de Amerikaanse Box Office binnengekomen ! De
Daywalker's Blade: Trinity doet het ook prima met een tweede plaats. The battle continues later
deze week, dan zien we Adam Sandler's Spanglish, Scorseses' The Aviator en Jim Carrey's Lemony Snicket's in de bioscopen. Here's the rest of

Trailers, trailers, trailers!!!:
Wow, a shitload of new trailers hit the web! Hieronder een overzicht, klik op de link om naar de download pagina te gaan:
Steven Spielberg en Tom Cruise back in action met War of the Worlds. Het tweetal was ook verantwoordelijk voor de sci-fi Minority Report. Het is weliswaar alleen een teaser trailer maar zorgt er wel voor dat je meer wilt zien! I like it a lot!
Owen Wilson en Vince Vaughn spelen ook weer samen in de nieuwe komedie The Wedding Crashers. De trailer is erg grappig, volgens mij is dit een lekkere melige film, check it out.
De mooie en fantastische actrice Jennifer Connelly speelt de hoofdrol in de Hollywood remake van de Japanese horrorfilm Dark Water. De trailer is behoorlijk creepy!
Johnny Depp is the man! Check out Willy Wonka in de trailer van Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Tim Burton heeft goed werk geleverd, de trailer is fantastisch!
En de laatste voor vandaag, de coole trailer van het vervolg op Get Shorty, Be Cool. De cast bestaat uit John Travolta, Uma "The Bride" Thurman, The Rock, Danny DeVito, Vince Vaughn and many more.

Triple H the new Conan?:
Triple H, pro-wrestler en binnenkort te zien in Blade Trinity, zou wel eens Schwarzenegger kunnen vervangen in de nieuwe Conan film. Triple H vertelt het volgende:
"There's been talking about it. John Milius, who is writing the next Conan, has spoken to me already, I met with him a few times, he's a friend of mine over the years, He actually wrote another project specifically for me, but he's talked to me about doing Conan down the line so we'll see what happens. That's an awesome franchise if they want me to get involved in it, I will, it'd be a thrill".
