Casting news:
Het is een hectisch weekje geweest maar wel met een paar geweldige headlines (Spidey en Riddick trailer,
Fighting Fish poster) en ik heb gisteren de fantastische Return of the King gezien. Ik zal proberen om mijn
recensie asap op de site te plaatsen. Hieronder een overzicht van de laatste casting nieuwtjes om het
weekend goed te beginnen:
 Javier Bardem speelt samen met Tom Cruise in Collateral. Michael Mann regisseert de film voor Dreamworks.
Rapper DMX zal twee projecten Winners en Past Tense produceren en tevens de hoofdrol spelen in beide films. Stanley Tong, veel samengewerkt met Jackie Chan, zal Past Tense regisseren.
Jason Isaacs en Jennifer Esposito zullen samen met Sandra Bullock, Don Cheadle, Brendan Fraser, Matt Dillon en Ludacris spelen in Crash.
Jamie Lee Curtis speelt tegenover Tim Allen in de komedie Skipping Christmas. Joe Roth doet de regie.

The Son of Mask trailer and site:
De site van het vervolg op The Mask is nu online. Het eerste deel was de grote doorbraak voor Jim Carrey.
In The Son of Mask spelen Jamie Kennedy en Alan Cumming de hoofdrol. Het verhaal gaat
over een striptekenaar die zich in een vervelende situatie bevindt wanneer zijn zoon het beruchte masker van

Van Helsing Banner!:
Check out de geweldige banner poster van de action-adventure-horror flick Van Helsing!
"Set in the late 19th century, "Van Helsing" finds Bram Stoker's legendary monster hunter summoned to a distant and dangerous Eastern European land on a quest to vanquish evil."
De film is geregisseerd door Stephen Sommers (The Mummy) en Hugh "Wolverine" Jackman speelt de hoofdrol.

Producer Lauren Schuler Donner sprak met Dark Horizons
over X-men 3:
When do you think it'll start shooting?
Ideally I would love to come out Summer of 2005 which means we'd better get going, but it's going to take a while to make the deals and all that.
Will Colossus have a bigger role?
We'll see, probably.
Will the Dark Phoenix storyline be used?
We have to, we kind of left that out there so we have to follow that thread along with some other stories.
Ian McKellan told us he's keen on doing X3?
I can't imagine doing it without him or Patrick [Stewart] or any of the main cast...and Halle [Berry]. We have to make sure that she's used well and we have a great great storyline for her, or maybe we do a Storm movie...who knows.

Riddick Set visit and Trailer!:
Lucky bastards van Entertainment Tonight
werden uitgenodigd om naar de set te komen van Pitch Black II - The Chronicles of Riddick. Daar kregen ze
meer informatie over het verhaal en spraken ze ook nog even met de hoofdrolspeler Vin Diesel! Here's a clip:
Captured and imprisoned on a planet where the extreme temperatures range from arctic nights to volcanic days, Riddick partners with a young woman from his past (newcomer ALEXA DAVALOS) to escape, only to find himself confronting a group of religious zealots led by the evil Lord Marshall (COLM FEORE from "Storm of the Century"), a tyrant bent on waging a deadly crusade across the galaxy.
What's so interesting about Riddick is that he is an anti-hero that has to struggle just to understand the purpose or relevance of heroism," says Vin. "So he travels through the universe, aloof to his heroic calling, and that's what this movie's about. It's about existing your whole life without any sense of identity and not knowing where you come from, and not knowing who you are, or why you exist. And that feels like a very relevant issue to build a mythology around."

Walking Tall Trailer:
De trailer van The Rock's nieuwe action flick Walking Tall is online.
"The story revolves around a retired soldier (The Rock) who returns to his hometown to make a new life for himself, only to discover his wealthy high school rival, Jay Hamilton (McDonough), has closed the once-prosperous lumber mill and turned the town's resources towards his own criminal gains. The place Chris grew up is now overrun with crime, drugs, and violence. Enlisting the help of his old pal Ray Templeton (Knoxville), Chris gets elected sheriff and vows to shut down Hamilton's operations. His actions endanger his family and threaten his own life, but Chris refuses to back down until his hometown once again feels like home."

Jaja, hij is hier, de final poster van Fighting Fish, the first dutch martial arts movie!
Ik heb al een paar scènes gezien en het ziet er veelbelovend uit! De cast bestaat uit Kim Ho Kim, Ron
Smoorenburg, Chantal Janzen en Jennifer de Jong. Jamel Attaache is verantwoordelijk voor de regie. Click

Man on Fire poster:
The Z Review heeft de poster
van Denzel Washingtons nieuwe film Man on Fire (klinkt als een Ringo Lam film). Denzel speelt een ex-marinier
die wraak neemt op een aantal bad guys die de familie heeft mishandeld die Denzel moest beschermen. Christoper
Walken doet ook mee, Tony Scott heeft de film geregisseerd en Brian Helgeland schreef het script.

Jack Nicholson kwam op numero uno binnen met zijn laatste komedie Something's Gotta Give!
Andere nieuwkomer Stuck On You, de nieuwe film van de Farrelly Bros (Dumb and Dumber) deed
het minder dan verwacht en kwam op de derde plaats binnen.

Riddick Site Online!:
De teasersite van Pitch Black II is nu online en bevat een mooie Flash intro. Vin Diesel
speelt wederom de hoofdrol in deze sci-fi film met de volledige titel: The Chronicles of Riddick.
David Twohy is terug om de regie te doen en gaat waarschijnlijk ook twee andere Riddick movies maken. Hij ziet
het project namelijk als een trilogie, geheel in de stijl van Star Wars. Click op de preview

Michael Caine talks Batman!:
Alfred himself, Michael Caine, sprak over zijn rol in Batman! How are you preparing for Batman?
Well, I've had butlers for 30 years. He's going to be based on my butlers. Butlers always feel superior to you, the employer. They look down on you because they know more about everything than you do. They're older than you, and in my case, I'm Batman's guardian and I actually am with him.
What talks have you had with Christopher Nolan?
I had a three hour talk at my house, that's all. It was to talk to me about being in the movie. He wrote the script, which is great. And he's a lovely man, Christopher Nolan. I really thought he was very, very nice and I'm hard to fool. Instead of just repeating the franchise, they're trying to make something of it. What they're doing with Batman is making it as though it's never been made before. That's how it is and it's different. He gave me the script for two hours to read and sent the chauffeur to take it back again. It's like getting screeners from the Academy, they're frightened everyone's going to see it. It's a change from this movie. We have $135 million to make the movie so I don't have to share a car or anything.

John Woo's future projects:
Mijn favoriete regisseur, John Woo, sprak met Movie Hole over
zijn toekomstige projecten waaronder een John Woo-style musical!:
What musical?
There's actually a project I'm working on now. We almost have a script now. It's an action musical but without singing. So I have a story in my mind. It's a gangster movie set in 1930. It's a tough guy who also was a great dancer. I also wanted to make a movie with the mixture, the beauty of dancing and action.
But no singing?
Just a couple singing, but not like the traditional musical singing dialogue. It's kind of like the mixture of The Killer and Cabaret. We'll get a draft pretty soon, in a few days and I wish it could be my next project.
Which of your movies are you most satisfied with?
Quite a few. The Killer, A Better Tomorrow, Face/Off. Face/Off, I really love it. Hard Boiled. I had so much fun making that. And Bullet in the Head is really my favorite. Paycheck. I think in Paycheck, I kept a pretty good balance of the action and the love story and the suspense. I think I maintained a pretty good balance.

Brett Ratner directs Josiah's Canon:
Brett Ratner gaat de caper movie Josiah's Canon regisseren na het afronden van zijn andere film After the Sunset
met in de hoofdrol Pierce Brosnan. Dat betekent dus dat Rush Hour 3 voorlopig niet gemaakt zal worden.
