Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End pics!:
Nieuwe Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End pics zijn online verschenen! Deze plaatjes got me all excited, omdat we the one and only Chow-Yun Fat voor het eerst zien als een freakin' pirate!
De rest van de cast bestaat uit Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush, Keira Knightley en Orlando Bloom. Klik op de pic voor een grote versie. Volgende update is dit weekend!

The 64th Annual Golden Globe nominations!:
De Hollywood Foreign Press Association heeft de nominaties bekend gemaakt van The 64th Annual Golden Globe Awards. Babel is de grote kanshebber, de film werd o.a. genomineerd voor 'Best Motion Picture', 'Performance in a supporting role' gaat naar Rinko Kikuchi's geweldige prestatie.
Babel maakt ook kans op de award voor 'Best Screenplay'. Laten we nu even kijken naar The Departed; Leonardo DiCaprio kreeg een nominatie voor 'Best Performance', Scorsese voor 'Best Director with big glasses' en William Monaham voor 'Best Screenplay'!
And last but not least, Guillermo Del Toro's Pan's Labyrinth werd genomineerd voor 'Best Foreign Language film'. Klik hier om de hele rataplan te bekijken!

Grindhouse pics!!!:
De eerste pics van Grindhouse zijn geplaatst op de site van Entertainment Weekly, and boy, they look awesome!
Met Grindhouse krijg je twee films voor de prijs van een, want het eerste gedeelte, genaamd Death Proof, is geregisseerd door Quentin Tarantino, de andere helft met de titel Planet Terror, is geregisseerd door zijn maatje Robert Rodriguez.
In Tarantino's film zien we Kurt Russell als een seriemoordenaar die zijn auto als wapen gebruikt. Klik op de pic voor meer, Russell ziet er ultra-cool uit!

Will Smith talks I Am Legend!:
Will Smith sprak met AICN kort over de status van de one-man-against-thousands-of-vampires-vehicle I Am Legend. Check this out;
"It's going great. We're taking a scheduled break right now, but we've been shooting in New York for a while. We've managed to make a small, character drama into a big special effect movies. It's that old school '70s kind of story-driven movie.
The special effects are ridiculous, but we don't depend on them at all to tell our story. They are insane, but there's no dependence on them at all. You don't know it yet, but you should be looking forward to it."

Peter Boyle passed away:
Acteur Peter Boyle, bekend van de komedie serie Everybody Loves Raymond, is helaas overleden. Hij had al enige tijd last van hartklachten.
Ik ben een grote liefhebber van zijn kleine rolletjes in klassiekers als Taxi Driver en Young Einstein. Hij speelde de grappige rol van Alec Baldwin's chauffeur in The Shadow,
maar maakte ook veel indruk met zijn meer dramatische acteerprestatie in Monster's Ball. Peter Boyle was 71.

Joel Silver talks Speed Racer!:
Uber-producer Joel Silver (Predator, Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, The Matrix etc., etc., etc.) sprak over de verfilming van de jaren 60 TV serie Speed Racer. De film wordt geregisseerd door de Wachowski Brothers en Speed Racer
wordt tevens hun eerste family flick, check this out;
"They wanted to make a big family entertainment. I've been struggling with Speed Racer for 11 years. They said, "what if we did it?". I said yes, obviously! They did a little pre-viz for us and it was just unbelievable. It's the story of Speed Racer, but in a way that you've never seen anything like that before in your life. The Wachowskis brought a tremendous sense of wonder and magic to that story. They just had a different way of seeing the story, in the way they do on everything they do."

No big figures at the American Box Office maar Mel Gibson's epic Apocalypto lukt het wel om de eerste plaats te veroveren. De Cameron Diaz en Kate Winslet komedie The Holiday doet

Na Crimson Tide en Man on Fire bundelen Denzel Washington en regisseur Tony Scott nogmaals hun krachten voor de cop thriller/sci fi flick Déjà Vu.
