Casting news:
Ice Cube speelt samen met Mark Wahlberg in John Singleton's revenge thriller Four Brothers. De film vertelt het verhaal van vier broers die weer worden herenigd na het overlijden van een familielid. Source: Sneakpeek
Rob Schneider en David Spade vertolken de hoofdrollen in de baseball komedie Bench Warmers. Het script werd geschreven naar aanleiding van een concept van Schneider's maatje, Adam Sandler. Source: Variety

Newsflash:
Helaas geen schokkende headlines voor vandaag maar ik heb gelukkig wel een aantal mooie posters gevonden voor de newsflash:
Steven Spielberg's War of the Worlds, met in de hoofdrol Tom Cruise, is op dit moment in productie en a.s. vrijdag wordt de teaser trailer al gelanceerd! Check out the official site voor eventuele updates.
De poster van Son of the Mask is nu online. Jamie Kennedy en Alan Cumming spelen de hoofdrol in dit vervolg op Jim Carrey's breakthrough flick. The official site is ook vernieuwd met pics en downloads. Klik op de poster voor een grote versie.
Ik ben heel benieuwd hoe deze film is, de remake van Assault on Precinct 13. Horrormeister John Carpenter is de bedenker van de originele versie, Ethan Hawke en Laurence Fishburne spelen in de nieuwe film.

U.S. Box Office Dec 03-05:
Nicolas Cage doet het nog steeds fantastisch met zijn avonturenfilm National Treasure. De film staat voor een
derde week op de eerste plaats en draagt een totale opbrengst van $110 miljoen! Tim Allen's Christmas with the Kranks en Tom Hanks' The Polar Express
mogen ook niet klagen met hun tweede en derde plaats. De strijd gaat eind deze week verder, dan zal The Daywalker
een bezoekje aan de bioscopen brengen met Blade Trinity. Here's the rest of the Top Ten:

Superman update:
Screenplaywriter Dan Harris (X2) sprak over de Superman productie en status van het script:
"We're shooting in March, but we're there this early because it's such a big build. You know, I mean, everything's being built. The director, Bryan Singer, works with writers there all the time, start to finish, post production, all that, and so, because they built so much art department stuff, the art department has to be there, and because [Bryan] has to be there, we have to be there.
we're on our third draft right now and we've done, I mean, you know, the requisite first draft, [then] chop off ten to fifteen pages, you know? It's too expensive, it's always too expensive. But it's being molded and kind of shifted and coming along really quickly, so any work that we're doing now, it's going to, by the next chapter, turn into really minor tweaking and just getting in there and making scenes better, as opposed to X-Men, where we did about 28 drafts, and halfway through those 28 drafts, we were still rewriting the whole movie every time. It was still, like, major shifts in story. Not this time around, this time around it's pretty much there."
Superman zal in 2006 opnieuw de wereld redden. Bryan Singer regisseert en de onbekende Brandon Routh zal de rol van Superman/Clark Kent vertolken. Mensen die mij kennen, weten dat ik niet kan wachten om deze film te zien!

Charlize Theron talks Aeon Flux:
My future wife, Charlize Theron, sprak over haar film Aeon Flux. Het is de eerste keer dat de actrice in een science fiction speelt:
"I don't want to go and just keep doing the same thing, you know? I think that challenge is always good. I knew nothing really about the genre. And just in that, that was enough of a challenge for me to work with a filmmaker that I really wanted to work with and I thought was a really interesting choice for this genre. Those were all elements that were really important to me. So, you know, it's odd, but that's good, I think.
It's not a genre that I'm familiar with. So the element that really attracted me is the fact that at end of the day, it's bottom line a love story. It's a human story, and the struggles and the things that this so-called futuristic story takes place in had all the elements of human struggle that I'm really interested in, you know? I'm not interested in playing a robot. These are real people struggling with things that I think a lot of people can relate to."

Interessante poster van de Brad Pitt/Angelina Jolie vehicle Mr. and Mrs. Smith is nu online.
Is Indy 4 still going strong? Harrison Ford is er in ieder geval klaar voor:"No doubt about it!" Ford wil maar al te graag de donkerbruine hoed weer dragen maar stelt ook voor dat een jongere acteur gekozen wordt voor toekomstige Indy films. George Lucas is tevreden met een nieuwe versie van het script, geschreven door Jeff Nathanson, kans is dus groot dat de film toch echt een keer gaat komen. Source: The Indy Experience
Harry Potter's Chris Columbus gaat Sub-Mariner regisseren. De film is gebaseerd op de Marvel comic en vertelt het verhaal van Prince Namor... een man afkomstig uit het Koninkrijk van Atlantis. David Self (Road to Perdition) schreef het script. Source: Variety
De trailer van Bewitched is nu online. Nora Ephron regisseerde de film dat gebaseerd is op de gelijknamige TV serie. De cast bestaat uit Nicole Kidman, Will Ferrell, Shirley MacLaine en Michael Caine. Kidman en Ferrell in één film? Dit moet ik zien!
Aardige poster van The Assassination of Richard Nixon is op het web verschenen. De rollen worden vertolkt door Sean Penn, Naomi Watts en Don Cheadle. Love the colors, klik op de poster voor een grote versie.

Beowulf update:
Gerard Butler (Phantom of the Opera) sprak over zijn hoofdrol in de avonturenfilm Beowulf & Grendel. De film is gebaseerd op een eeuwenoud gedicht over een Noorse krijger Beowulf versus Grendel, een gevaarlijke trol. Butler vertelt het volgende:
"I think it's going to be like nothing you've ever really seen before. This movie has probably the most un-formulaic script I've ever read, especially coming from America, and that's what grabbed me about it. From the first word, from the first description of the characters I realized that I was reading something very different. I had to read it twice before I really got it, but when I got it I could see just what a powerful thing this could be as a film. And I got to be so closely involved in it. I got to sit down with the director and we talked about his visions of Bergman and Kurasawa, and we talked about going widescreen on the Icelandic landscape.
It's this Viking story which is based on a fable, but in actual fact we've gone back and said, 'Just imagine that there was a troll,' and we're saying, 'Imagine this troll isn't really a monster, but just another form of human.' He's like a Neanderthal man, more like a primate. So, there's just really good meat on the bones. And Beowulf is a hero. It's like the original hero story, but with a twist."
