Newsflash:
 Rupert Wainwright (Stigmata) zal de remake van John Carpenter's The Fog regisseren. De cast wordt op dit moment samengesteld, de film zal volgend jaar oktober uitkomen. Source: Variety
The official site van War of the Worlds is nu open. De scifi wordt door Steven Spielberg geregisseerd en de cast bestaat uit Tom Cruise, Tim Robbins, Miranda Otto, Dakota Fanning en Justin Chatwin. Setpics zijn ook online op de site van Yahoo!, klik op de pic om naar de official site te gaan (maar daar is eigenlijk niets bijzonders te zien...)

Heb weer een paar interessante headlines voor vandaag dus laten we snel beginnen:
Nick Cassavetes (John Q, The Notebook) gaat Iron Man regisseren! De film is gebaseerd op de gelijknamige comic, wie de hoofdrol zal spelen is niet bekend maar ik hou je natuurlijk op de hoogte. Source: IGN Filmforce

Tommy Lee Jones in een meidenfilm? Check out de trailer van Man of the House right here, it's pretty funny.
Colin Farrell vertelde meer over de Miami Vice film, here's a clip:"I'm not trying on those jackets just yet because I haven't signed, although I'd do anything to work with director Michael Mann. The script is great. The director is great. The worst thing about the project is the title, but as a piece in and of itself it's brilliant. The script goes deep into the undercover world. It's Mann doing his heavy and tough stuff, with the kind of great dialogue you saw in Heat and Collateral."
Ben benieuwd, hoop wel dat we Don Johnson en Philip Michael Thomas in een cameo zullen zien...

Sam Raimi talks Spider-man 3!!!:
Regisseur Sam Raimi geeft een status van zijn derde Spider-man film;"We've finished a 50-page document and now I'm working with my storyboard artist to work out some of the visuals. And I'm about to start working with Alvin Sargent [who received the "Screenplay by" credit on Spider-Man 2] on the first draft of the screenplay.
I'm trying to determine Peter Parker's journey as a human being, what it is that he'll be learning on this next adventure, as a kid growing up, what life lessons [he'll experience]. Once I know what that is, I'm going to try to develop obstacles in his path, like any dramatic writer would do. And out of those conflicts will come the drama. Either he'll be able to overcome these conflicts or he won't. But once I know his journey, and therefore the conflicts that are in his path, I'll choose that villain that best represents those conflicts. That's the way in which I've been approaching this, and I'm still not quite there in determining the villain."
Ik hoop dat deze film de vorige delen zal overtreffen, enkele maanden geleden werd overigens bekend dat Spider-man 3 het laatste deel van de franchise zal worden. De film draait in 2007 in de bioscopen.

King Kong Art:
Newsweek kreeg de kans om uitgebreid met
Peter Jackson te praten over zijn King Kong remake. De film speelt zich af in de jaren 30 en Weta Digital doet
zijn uiterste best om New York met behulp van originele blueprints en oude foto's opnieuw te creëren.
"To live the rest of your life trying to top 'Lord of the Rings' would be a foolish and unsatisfying thing to do," vertelde Jackson, "So you set your sights on making a thoroughly entertaining movie so that people are not disappointed."

U.S. Box Office Nov 26-28:
Nicolas Cage's National Treasure staat voor de tweede week op de eerste plaats in de Amerikaanse Box Office en verdiende
$46 miljoen! De rest van de top vijf films doen het ook behoorlijk goed, alle films brachten meer dan $20 miljoen op!

David Goyer talks Batman!:
Writer-producer-director David S. Goyer sprak met Superhero Hype niet alleen over zijn Blade Trinity film maar
onthulde ook meer over Batman Begins en andere comic book films:
Is Warner Brothers heavily involved with the plot and direction of the movie?
Goyer: No, they gave us a ton of leeway. It's the opposite of the horror stories that you hear. I think they knew that people were somewhat disappointed with the last two Batman films, for whatever reason. We had a couple of initial conversations about what their expectations were. We wanted to make sure that there were some parameters within which we could tell the story we wanted to tell, so we just asked them what are their dos and don'ts. We knew that they weren't going to let us make an R-rated film. While I was intrigued by what [Darren] Aronofsky and [Frank] Miller were trying to do, I knew that the studio would never let them do it, so to that extent, I think it was kind of folly to pursue that. They're not going to let a character that big become an R-rated film.
Is there going to be a lot of CGI in the movie?
Goyer: Some, but that's not the kind of thing [Chris] leans to. There's this great moment in the film where Batman crashes through a window of a high rise with his cape on fire onto the roof of a car. That was all done for real. There wasn't any CG. It was kind of cool. They did this movie right.
Do you have any interest in any other superhero or comic book movies besides the stuff that you already have in the works?
Goyer: I've always loved Thor on the Marvel side. On the DC side, I think an Atom movie would be fun; it would be cool to do a serious take on the shrinking man film. I think Flash would be cool. I love all those characters. Some of them are harder sells as films than others. I think there could be a cool Warlord film made if someone did it right. [Note: For those under 30, that's the Mike Grell comic book about a pilot who ends up in the lost land of Skartaris.] I could see a cool version of an Adam Strange film as well. I like what they're doing in the new comic book. But it just depends. Who would have ever thought Blade would be a cool movie? I maintain that if we can make Blade a cool movie, given the right treatment and the right person doing it, you can do almost anything.
Blade Trinity draait vanaf januari in de bioscopen, Batman Begins is volgend jaar zomer te zien!
