Ben Affleck a John Woo fan?:
Ben Affleck claims he's a big John Woo fan. He worked with the Hong Kong action director on the upcoming
Paycheck. The sci-fi flick tells the story of a computer expert who is hired for a top secret
project:
"You get a guy like John Woo, you know he's going to elevate it," Affleck said. "It's really a relief for me, as opposed to working for somebody where you're not sure. I loved [Woo's early films] The Killer and Hard Boiled and those movies, since they've kind of changed the American independent movie scene in the early '90s. I was, like, a 20-year-old film geek at my house. I had the Hard Boiled poster. So this is a big deal for me."
That's cool Mr. Affleck, John Woo re-invented action with his Hong Kong movies!

Travolta in Tarantino's next - updated 06/12/03:
Quentin Tarantino and John Travolta will join forces again after working together on the masterpiece Pulp
Fiction. Tarantino couldn't find a role for Travolta in Kill Bill and Vega Brothers is not going to happen
but Travolta will definitely be part of Tarantino's "airplane thriller" project. The movie will be some
sort of Airport/Towering Inferno-like disaster flick with Travolta playing the role of a pilot. Tarantino's
next movie will the World War II flick Inglorious Bastards.
Updated 06/12/03: Sources claim this Tarantino disaster movie was just a joke the director made to the press. So let's keep our eyes on Inglorious Bastards.

Jackson talks King Kong:
Peter Jackson revealed more details on his next project that doesn't involve Hobbits, they will be replaced by
a giant ape called King Kong:
"I'm interested in (King) Kong being quite stylised and the jungles of Skull Island I want to be very over-the-top, like a jungle from hell. I imagine we are going to be more successful pulling that off in the studio or in a back lot than we are trying to find a beech forest in the South Island," he said. Naomi Watts is on board to play the lead role. "She got really excited and it was great. Naomi's the only person that we've really approached because she's becoming so eagerly sought after by everybody." And supporting cast? "A lot of the characters are members of the ship's crew and we don't really kind of know who they are because we are going to write the script from scratch again." Wellington special effects companies Weta Workshop and Weta Digital will work on the film. "Once we get started on Kong we get a few months of what I call gentle work because I am writing, having meetings at Weta and looking at designs," Jackson said. "It's actually going to be easier. . . (than The Lord of the Rings) the logistics involved don't seem as daunting."
The remake will be shot in New Zealand with a budget of $33 million (that's not much).

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind posters:
Coming Soon posted three posters for
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. The movie stars Jim Carrey, Kate Winslet, Kirsten
Dunst and Elijah "Frodo" Wood. The great Charlie Kaufman (Adaptation) wrote the story.
Carrey plays Joel who is stunned to discover that his girlfriend Clementine (Winslet) has had her memories of their tumultuous relationship erased. Out of desperation, he contacts the inventor of the process, Dr. Howard Mierzwiak (Wilkinson), to have Clementine removed from his own memory. But as Joel's memories progressively disappear, he begins to rediscover their earlier passion. From deep within the recesses of his brain, Joel attempts to escape the procedure. As Dr. Mierzwiak and his crew (Dunst, Ruffalo, Wood) chase him through the maze of his memories, it's clear that Joel just can't get her out of his head.

Dirty Harry in Batman:
Clint Eastwood is being approached to play the mayor of Gotham City in the upcoming Batman: Intimidation
movie. Clint seems to be very happy with the offer: "I would like to show a lighter side to my character in
my later years."
I think Clint would be perfect to play the older batman in Frank Miller's Return of the Dark Knight comic,
what do you think?.
