Star Wars Episode III Update:
Star Wars Producer Rick McCallum heeft The official Star Wars site
persoonlijk op de hoogte gebracht over episode III:
"What happens is that George comes in about 8 a.m, answers his mail, and works with Ben from 9 to 12:30," McCallum says, describing the typical working day. "Ben's doing all the action sequences and cutting together the animatics for those, like the opening space battle, and two other sequences that are the primary things he has to work on. Roger is doing the drama, and George works with him from 2:30 until 6."
"In March, we'll most probably go to London, since it'll be easier for scheduling. I'd like to able to isolate the Wookiee shoot, and do that in Australia at a later date, so that I don't have to bring everybody from Australia over to London," says McCallum.
"It's going really well," adds McCallum. "I'm really pleased. Hopefully, by Christmas we'll really see the film for the first time."

Matt Damon talks Grimm and Bourne:
Matt Damon geeft een update van Terry Gilliams Brothers Grimm fantasy flick en sprak ook over het vervolg op The Bourne Identity.
 Brothers Grimm: "I'm happy to report to you all that I've just done a movie that Terry Gilliam directed. It's finished. Yeah, it's finished, yes. It was great, it was really great, and he was everything that I could have ever hoped he would be. You know, watching 'Lost in La Mancha' you see how passionate he is and what an incredible director he is, and it was just really nice to work with him. I have huge, huge hopes for that movie, I think it could really be special. It's very funny, it's got a lot of fairy tale imagery in it and stuff that the Brothers Grimm ended up writing about. Hard to classify, really. I'll probably see a cut of it in about six months or something, but it'll be interesting to see".
The Bourne Supremacy: "I'm getting on a plane [after this junket] to go to Germany to do 'The Bourne Supremacy'". Is it better than the first film? "I don't know. We've got Paul Greengrass directing, and he's fantastic, he directed 'Bloody Sunday,' he's just a terrific director. So you know, I don't know. The script is there, and Paul really is confident about it. So I don't know, hopefully it'll be good. We start shooting, it's ten to four now, that means it's midnight there. We start shooting officially in 20 minutes is our first day of shooting. [I am] back in shape for it, yeah. It's the same kind of physical stuff".
Hmm, Matt heeft niet echt veel vertrouwen in deze film, 3 x "I don’t know"...

Caine is Alfred!:
Michael Caine zal de rol vertolken van Bruce Wayne's trouwe butler Alfred in de nieuwe Batman film!
Anthony Hopkins werd ook benaderd om Alfred te spelen maar ik denk dat Caine een prima keus is.
Christian Bale (American Psycho) is de Vleermuisman en de film wordt geregisseerd door Chris Nolan (Memento).
Ander Batman nieuws, Daniel Day Lewis gaat misschien de rol spelen van Batman's villain Ra's Al Ghul.

Tim Burton talks Charlie and Apes:
Calgary Sun vroeg aan Tim Burton wat zijn plannen zijn voor...:
Charlie & The Chocolate Factory: "I have no idea when we'll begin on Willy. It will all depend on the script. I won't be tied down to a release date ever again." Burton says he chose Depp over actors like Michael Keaton because "he's always surprising and funny and right now he's a big star."
Planet Of The Apes 2 Burton says he won't be involved in any sequel to his Planet of the Apes. "No, no, no, never. After having made Batman Returns, I realised it's not a good idea for me to do sequels."

US Box Office Nov 21-23:
The Cat in the Hat is op nummer 1 binnen gekomen in de Amerikaanse top tien. De film is
geheel in de stijl van Dr. Seuss' The Grinch maar dit keer speelt Mike Myers de hoofdrol. Halle Berry heeft
het ook prima gedaan met haar thriller Gothika. De film kwam op nummer twee binnen. De romantische
comedy Love Actually met Hugh Grant is weer omhoog geklommen in de top tien en heeft de
top vijf gehaald. Interessant om te zien hoe een film ergens onderaan de top tien binnenkomt en zo langzamerhand
toch winst weet te boeken, meestal is dit het gevolg van mond op mond reclame.

Pitof talks Catwoman:
Le French Director Pitof sprak met Wizard magazine over de Catwoman film:
Have you been reading a lot of old comics for research?
No, not really. I checked out some to see how Catwoman is treated in the comics, to make sure that our Catwoman was in the same vein. But I didn't want to be too influenced by the comic book, because the whole point of the movie is to be first a movie, and to be different. Different from "Batman," different from "Spider-Man" - this movie has its own identity. I tried to find my sources more in the character of Catwoman herself. To me, the Catwoman we're filming now with Halle Berry is in the continuity of the others. She's different than Michelle Pfeiffer's character, different from anybody who's played Catwoman in the past. But she is Catwoman. When you look at the differences between the comic book Catwoman and the TV or movie Catwoman, they're all different-but there's a feeling that they are all Catwoman. Halle brings her own personality, through her attitute and through the outfit.
What do you think of the costume?
Oh, it's great! I'm really proud of the design of the costume. To me, it's in the same vein of the others. But it's unique to Halle. And it's very sexy. We tried to show a lot of skin, to make the suit as catlike as possible, and also to bring the dimension of a warrior-somebody who's ready for a fight.

Goyer talks Blade III, I repeat, Goyer talks Blade III!!!:
Writer/producer/director David Goyer sprak ook met Wizard magazine en vertelde hoe hij de nieuwe Blade film
gaat aanpakken:
"I just wanted to make sure that this was going to be the best script," Goyer told Wizard magazine. "And I wanted to make sure that New Line would commit enough money to the budget. Fortunately, the budget for this film is significantly higher that the last two, which gave me confidence that we'd have the tools to actually film all the insanity that I wrote."
The film will see all-out war between the vampire clans and Blade's loose band of warriors. "This will probably be the last 'Blade' film," reveals Goyer. "We're definitely building towards a definite ending for the series. Given that this was the third film, I felt we had to shake things up. In the first movie, Whistler [Kris Kristofferson] talks about the war between the humans and the vampires - how it sometimes spills over into the real world - and I was interested in depicting that. The collision between Blade's world and the world that we, the audience, live in. What would happen, for instance, if Blade were actually captured by the authorities? How would they respond to his belief in vampires?
Goyer added that "In this film, Blade teams up with a younger group of vampire hunters, the Nightstalkers. [Hannibal] King (Ryan Reynolds) is one of the leaders. He was bitten by a vampire, spent five years as one of them, and was recently freed by another hunter, Abigail (Jessica Biel). King functions as a counter-part to Blade. His methods and attitude are entirely different."

Marvel Studios Vice President Kevin Feige vertelde iets meer over hun toekomstige projecten:
Fantastic 4: "Writer Mark Frost has turned in a draft for 'Fantastic Four' and now he's working on some minor revisions. Mark's working on his polish with an eye towards getting a director."
Ghost Rider: "Writer/director Mark Steven Johnson (Daredevil) is held up in a beach house right now, working on a rewrite of 'Ghost Rider' and we should get a sneak peak soon. Hopefully aiming for a spring start depending on scheduling."
The Hulk 2: "It is set up at Universal again. We talk to Universal almost on a daily basis about 'Hulk 2'. Hulk is a great franchise with a lot of life left in it."

The Matrix Revolutions coming soon on DVD? - Updated 24/11:
Update 24/11: Een betrouwbare bron van Cinescape beweert
dat de DVD release date onjuist is! De site vermeldt het volgende:
"I can unequivocally tell you that its NOT coming out then. What the retailers probably received was the date they can preorder the DVD. Our source also tells us that the likely release date of REVOLUTIONS on home video is more likely in or around April -- and that when the movie comes out it won't be available as part of a boxed set of the MATRIX movies, at least not yet. "It will be released shortly thereafter, but it's not a compilation of all the DVDs," says our agent. "It's something better and different."

in de schappen liggen, dat is dus twee maanden na de bioscoop release! Eén van de redenen is de teleurstellende
box office results, de studio heeft de datum overigens nog niet bevestigd.

Hilary Swank (Boys Don't Cry) speelt één van de hoofdrollen in de rechtbank drama Red Dust. "The story revolves around a anti-apartheid activist who enlists the help of a former student to help fight a case before South Africa's Truth and Reconciliation Commission." Source: The Hollywood Reporter.
Salma Hayek moet het witte doek delen mat Colin Farrell in Ask the Dust. Hayek speelt een pittige Mexicaanse dame Camilla die met een rijke Amerikaan gaat trouwen om meer status te krijgen. Source: Variety.
Eva Mendes (2 Fast 2 Furious) en Will Smith spelen in de comedy Last First Kiss, geregisseerd door Andy Tennant (Sweet Home Alabama). Will Smith speelt een date doctor die beweert dat hij singles kan veranderen in een eeuwig koppel na drie dates.
