Constantine poster:
MTV heeft een geweldige maar minuscule
poster geplaatst van Constantine. De film is gebaseerd op de Hellblazer comic en Keanu Reeves speelt de
hoofdrol. Ik heb de poster iets vergroot, check it out below.

Evil Dead remake?!:
Wow, dit komt als een donderslag bij heldere hemel. We worden weer getrakteerd op een remake... en wel van de horror klassieker Evil Dead. The good thing;
Sam Raimi, bedenker en regisseur van de Evil Dead films zal de remake gaan produceren samen met de
hoofdrolspeler van de originele films, Bruce Campbell. Wie de nieuwe regisseur wordt, is nog niet bekend maar
ik hou je op de hoogte!

Tenacious D movie update:
Jack Black's Tenacious D partner Kyle Gass sprak met Billboard over de status van hun film:
"It's definitely the funniest movie on paper that I've ever read. It starts off as kind of how the D was formed. It goes into a quest for 'the pick,' a magical pick that will supposedly help us rock like the rock gods we so admire. It's a zillion laughs.
Hopefully we'll get Meat Loaf to play Jack's dad. Jack tries to rock for his parents, but even as a child he's working blue. He gets in trouble and goes up to his room and starts talking to a poster of Ozzy Osbourne. Ozzy talks back and inspires Jack to sing this incredible rock song about how he's going to rock the world. We'll have to find some crazy child whose parents won't mind him swearing!
I'm sure New Line would love to have the movie come out by Christmas next year. Then, we'll embark on the Tenacious D world tour. Then, we'll make the really bad sequel. But we'll make zillions of dollars. Then, one more crappy album and that is it. We are done. The goal is to not ever have to do it again."

James Bond casting follows Superman model?:
Ik ontving gisteren een berichtje van Timothy McKinney die een aardige theorie heeft over het casting proces voor James Bond:
"While gossip columns rotate unlikely celebrities Ewan McGregor, Colin Farrell and Russell Crowe onto the heir apparent James Bond thrown,
MGM’s true intentions appear in focus with Warner Brothers’ Superman.
Although the celebrity name dropping makes for good headlines, the truth of the casting process to name the new James Bond may be best
reflected by examining the similar process undergone for Warner Brothers’ high profile Superman feature Man of Steel.
The Superman casting rumors spawned casino betting odds on the various contenders, allowing consumers to wager on who they expected would land
the role. Ultimately though the role of Superman was awarded to unknown actor Brandon Routh and the bookmakers laughed all the way to the bank having
never publicized their odds to the public on the long time behind the scenes frontrunner."
Ik weet het niet... maar mijn filminstinct zegt dat MGM toch een grote ster zal kiezen in plaats van een onbekende acteur. Thanks for the heads up, Tim.

 Keanu Reeves gaat de hoofdrol spelen in Spike Lee's The Night Watchman. De film vertelt het verhaal van een cop die zich verzet tegen de corruptie binnen een politiekorps. Source: Variety
De trailer van The Woodsman is online. De cast bestaat uit Kevin Bacon, Kyra Sedgwick, Mos Def, Benjamin Bratt, David Alan Grier en Eve. Go check it out, Bacon levert een indrukwekkende prestatie.

Tom Hanks gaat weer samenwerken met Ron Howard. Dit keer zullen ze Dan Brown's best-selling thriller The Da Vinci Code verfilmen. Het tweetal is ook verantwoordelijk voor Splash en Apollo 13. Source: Newsweek

Diesel talks Find Me Guilty:
Vin Diesel is binnenkort in de rechtbankdrama Find Me Guilty te zien. De regie is in handen van de legendarische
Sidney Lumet die maar al te graag Diesel de fijne kneepjes van het vak wilt leren:
"I cannot tell you what kind of an unbelievable experience it has been working with Sidney," vertelde Vin, "I gained weight. My whole look has changed. I have locked myself up in my apartment for four weeks, because I'm playing a character named Jackie DiNorscio, that is defending himself in court, but living in prison. I don't know if you remember 'the boys from New Jersey', the trial that went on in the '80s, but it was the largest mob trial in history, where twenty defendants were acquitted. That's the story I'm doing right now. We've got Peter Dinklage and Linus Roach in the film. I feel incredibly fortunate."
"I've learned so much. He is so incredible, and so demanding in some ways. It's like we'll do five to thirteen pages of dialogue a day. He'll do seven and ten minute talking shots, and he has it all mapped out in his head. I really think that Sidney Lumet is going to be someone that we will all be reminded of next year when 'Find Me Guilty' comes out. The greatest thing about Sidney, in terms of teaching me directing stuff, is that he'll have me come look behind the monitor and explain these very interesting and very cool shots. I mean, literally, he'll stop for a second and show me. He knows that, at heart, I'm a director and that I'm planning to return to directing shortly. With Sidney Lumet, I'd be on that set every morning at 6 AM just to watch him work. He's doing it fast, too. He'll do this entire film in less than a month."

U.S. Box Office Nov 12-14:
Pixar's The Incredibles staat voor de tweede week op nummer 1 in de Amerikaanse Box Office. De film bracht weer
een indrukwekkend bedrag van $51 miljoen op met een totale opbrengst van $144 miljoen! Robert Zemeckis' The Polar Express
debuteerde op een tweede plaats met een $23 miljoen. Het vervolg op Bridget Jones wist met een limited release de top
vijf binnen te treden, de kans is dus groot dat de film op nummer 1 staat tijdens de nationwide release
later deze week. Here's the rest of the top ten:

Legend of Zorro clip:
De cast van Legend of Zorro vertelde meer over dit vervolg op de succesvolle The Mask of Zorro. Antonio Banderas zal weer een groot gedeelte van zijn stunts doen;
"This movie hurts a little bit when you're doing it, but it doesn't matter -- it doesn't matter when you go to the movie theatre and you see the people laughing and having a great time. All the sacrifices, we shouldn't even make remarks about them, because it's natural, it's our profession -- it's what we do."

Cage's Next:
Nicolas Cage zal de hoofdrol spelen in de actie-thriller Next, Lee Tamahori (Once Were Warriors) regisseert.
De film is gebaseerd op een verhaal van Philip K. Dick (Total Recall, Minority Report) en gaat over een man die in de toekomst kan kijken om eventuele gebeurtenissen te veranderen voordat ze plaatsvinden.
Cage treedt ook op als producent van de sci-fi flick. De productie vindt volgend jaar zomer plaats... betekent dit dat Cage niet in Ghost Rider gaat spelen?

David Goyer talks Batman Begins!!!:
Writer-producer David Goyer vertelde meer over Chris Nolan's Batman Begins. Batman on Film vermeldt het volgende:
Goyer says the director Chris Nolan is about three weeks away from finishing his first cut of the movie. "I've been watching the dailies, and it's going along really well," Goyer said. "Chris is very intense and focused and very private and he's just locked away in the editing room. I can say that it's going to be the BATMAN film I'm sure any one of you always wished would have been made. For me, it's going to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience."
Talk of a sequel was brought up and Goyer addressed it. "On one hand, we're really tempted not to do another one, to do the one and walk away. WB is really interested in Chris doing another one. Chris won't even talk about it until he finishes this cut, so they're going to bring it up in January.
We definitely set it up and kind of provided WB a rough plan of what the next three movies would be. So it's not like we'll do one and then figure on the next. There is a road map of what the next three movies would be and who the various characters would be."

Sequel talk!:
Hieronder een paar sequel updates :
"Rush Hour 3 is ready to go," vertelt regisseur Brett Ratner, "The deals are done from what I understand. It doesn't mean I'm going to make the movie next. I always have three or four movies in development, so when I'm done I can just jump into the one that's closest." Source: MSNBC
Regisseur David Twohy is nog steeds van plan om een derde Riddick film te maken maar alles hangt af van de verkoop van The Chronicles of Riddick DVD.
"[Sequels are] still a possibility, but many eyes are watching this DVD release very closely," says Twohy, "Remember that we were saying all along that we knew where the story goes from this point forward, but we hopefully didn't have so much hubris to say that we were definitely making a trilogy out of this. What we were saying was, 'We know what the macro arc is,' and if we were fortunate enough to be successful in this one we knew where we would pick up in the next one. We had it in our minds and there are certain setups in The Chronicles of Riddick for future films, including the Shirah character who now appears in the [director's cut DVD], a character who did not make it into the theatrical version at all. We would talk a lot about the Underverse - this being the sort of collision of Heaven and Hell for the Necromonger empire - and what that all is, and we'd venture across it. We know the Lord Marshal character gained some powers there by stepping in, having one foot in this land of the Necromonger dead. And he came back with this power of soul separation. So it's a very interesting place, and thought to be a physical place, and if we had the opportunity to continue the story we would surely like to go there."
Ik ben er klaar voor, David, maar zorg wel dat de nieuwe Riddick film voor 16 jaar en ouder wordt gemaakt, net als Pitch Black!

Bryan Singer talks Superman!!!:
X-men regisseur Bryan Singer sprak over zijn Superman Returns film.
Waarom heb je gekozen voor Superman?: "I thought of that and I've also wanted to make a Superman movie for a number of years and by putting the earlier films in kind of a history and by not treading on what Smallville's doing, I think people....It's been a lot of years since people have gotten to see this guy fly and do what he does and it's ultimately a great myth and a great story. That's why its been around for seventy years. People will be excited about seeing it, but I'm incredibly excited about making it. I'd have to go hours to explain to you why."
Waren jullie van plan om Smallville's Tom Welling te gebruiken voor de rol?: ""Yeah, there was some thought but my feeling was was that if I'm going to make a Superman movie, it's a big movie, it's a big budget film and it has its own kind of story that's separate from Smallville, so I really didn't want to make a Smallville feature, I wanted to make a Superman movie and I felt that even though he's terrific, he's existing to carry the torch through a certain period in the character's life. This guy is just past that period so I felt that it just had to be a seperate entity."
Wat is het verhaal van de nieuwe film?: "It's not an origin story. The best way I can explain it is to say it puts the earlier films into a kind of vague history. You'll see a moment flashback...you'll see a bit of him as a young man..but this really takes off several years after he's arrived and he's done many heroic deeds. He's already a known figure. It's kinda like the first Batman film, which would be the best analogy because he already existed. Batman was part of Gotham City, well here Superman existed in Metropolis, had a relationship of a kind with Lois Lane and is now...gone. And this is the story of a return."
