Batman's next villain:
New developments on Chris Nolan's Batman movie, Scarecrow will be the villain for the opening
sequence of the film. Here's what Cinescape reports:
"According to our source, the film's primary bad guy will remain R'as al Ghul, the immortal whose vision
of a world without chaos reaches through centuries of time. But the idea is to introduce the Scarecrow
early in the film to show audiences that this BATMAN movie is different than its predecessors; namely,
that it's darker and scarier, and that the rogues that Batman face in Nolan's vision of Gotham City are
far more dangerous than the ones seen in Joel Schumacher's BATMAN movies."
My God, this movie will absolutely rock!

McG talks Man of Steel:
Weird and probably false rumour hit the web yesterday, "Richard Donner is going to direct Superman."
Moviehole got a chance to talk to the other Superman director McG:
"And ok, so is he signed to do "Superman" or not? "I'm in conversations with Warner Brothers, but I'm not
signed on to do that picture... But I'm a huge fan of Superman and we'll see. Maybe that will work out
and maybe it won't. It's yet to be determined, truthfully."

Pompeii movie:
Fernando Meirelles (City of God) will helm a film about the final hours of Pompeii. Clark
Gregg (What Lies Beneath) is working on the script:
"Neither Fernando nor I are jumping out of our skin to do a traditional historical epic or disaster film.
What's fascinating about Pompeii is that it was frozen in a moment in time."
Meirelles adds, "What drew me to this project is the possibility of re-creating Pompeii in the most realistic
way possible. One of my goals is to take the audience into the everyday life experiences in the Mediterranean
1,924 years ago. I'm also interested in capturing the connections between the end of Roman Empire and the
present day, as well as the end of a civilization."

Tom Mix and Pancho Villa movie:
Director Tony Scott is bringing the Clifford Irving novel Tom Mix and Pancho Villa to the big screen!
The epic movie will have a $100 million budget, Steve Zaillian is working on a script rewrite.
"This is 'Lawrence of Arabia' meets 'The Wild Bunch,' a huge film with trains, cavalry, thousands of soldiers
in uniform and on horseback," Scott told Variety. "This
is a love story between two men from different planets, who educated each other. Pancho Villa knew the
laws of life, and Tom Mix knew how to live in a modernized Western world."

Lethal Weapon 5?!:
Director Richard Donner, currently promoting his adventure film Timeline, talked about Lethal Weapon 5!:
"I have the story in my head for a fifth and final Lethal Weapon, but it's all up to Mel Gibson. It would be 24 hours in the lives of
Riggs (Gibson) and Murtaugh (Danny Glover). The last couple of times I talked to Mel, it really seemed he
was interested in doing one more. I really want to put the franchise to bed properly."

Frank Marshall talks Indy 4:
Producer Frank Marshall gave an update on Indiana Jones 4:"It's going to totally be in
the style and the tone of the first three. I mean, were not going to do anything different. We're not
going to try and change things or modernize things. We're going to stick to what works, and we're probably
going to be in the fifties. So, we're acknowledging that we're all a bit older and that's about all I can
tell you except that Frank Darabont is writing it.

The Brothers Grimm update:
December Issue of Empire Magazine posted a great interview with cast and director Terry Gilliam.
Gilliam talked about working on his fantasy epic The Brothers Grimm and the doomed
Don Quichotte project:
"After the whole disaster with Don Quixote, I was really quite depressed. When this came along, it seemed to have all the right elements - it had fantasy, imagination, it was intelligent. And it had the money. It was strange getting back in the saddle. In the first week I was out of practice and making stupid mistakes. But we seem to be getting there now."

Natalie Portman is Lois Lane?:
New interesting developments on the Superman project, seems that Natalie Portman is being
considered for the role of Lios Lane. Here's what Superman V posted:
"Word reaches us that WB have more than just casting Superman on their minds. Rumour has it that one of the actresses they are looking at for Lois Lane is none other than Natalie Portman.
We asked her agent about this. Have WB been in talks with her about the part? They didn't deny it: "Nothing's conclusive"... What the heck does that mean!? Has she been in talks and nothing is signed and sealed!? Or are they refusing to deny it since they don't want to totally rule out the possibility of her going up for the role."
I think Natalie would be perfect!

Bishop talks Alien vs. Predator!!!:
Bishop himself, Lance Henirksen, revealed some nice details about the upcoming Alien vs. Predator!:
"I don't play Bishop in this movie, I play the man who created him. He's a billionaire and is responsible for taking this expedition to Antarctica, where everything takes place. It's a pretty cool character.
I can't tell you guys anything else-they made me sign not to tell. The thing is, they keep sending me new versions of [the script]. It's gonna be a very, very exciting movie-I promise you that. I hope it turns out as good as ALIENS."
