Brendan Fraser talks Mummy 3:
Brendan Fraser is geïnteresseerd in een nieuwe Mummy film! Brendan vertelt het volgende:
"I've spoken with Stephen Sommers and he intends to finish up Van Helsing [first]. He is going to investigate storylines and what to do, but look, I told him I'm in, but I'll wait for the call. But I can't imagine there won't be one.
You know working with Stephen, the suggestions that I ever made were just like, 'You want me to do another take? Can I jump a little further? Shorter?' Things like that. Storyline things, I leave that up to him.
Let's face it, it's The Mummy, he's a thousands-of-years-old bad guy. He's kinda like you can't get rid of him, you can go anywhere. He's been endowed with certain powers. [Sommers] may explore other characters from other periods of history that have been mummified. The Aztecs certainly, other ancient societies. I really don't know the answer aside from a lot is possible."

The Incredible Shrinking Man remake:
Producer Brain Grazer gaat een remake maken van The Incredible Shrinking Man met Eddie Murphy in de hoofdrol:
"[They] had a genius idea as to what the occupation of the guy should be. He's going to be a Las Vegas magician. It's so great, because what happens is he's that bigger-than-life [persona]. It's Eddie with an attitude. It's not happy Eddie. It's Eddie with his edgy attitude being like David Copperfield or David Blaine. But he's somehow been relegated to do the day show, like babysitting kids. And he's pissed."

Upcoming Marvel Movies!:
Marvel Studio's Avi Arad sprak over hun toekomstige projecten, laten we eens even kijken wat ze de komende jaren allemaal
van plan zijn:
- Spider-Man 2 just completed principle photography
- Iron Man is targeted to be a PG-13 release and on target for a '05 release.
- Elektra, which is in current development, will be the "sequel" to Daredevil, with the character first appearing there, and then be reunited with Daredevil in Daredevil 2.
- Marvel is "feverishly" working on Fantastic Four with Fox, and that the studio has it on it's schedule for December 2004.
- Hulk 2 is in development for an 06 release. Arad reported that 6.5 million DVDs shipped for the release, and 3.5 sold within seven days.
- Namor is in active development.
- Arad said that X-Men 3 is in development, but neither Marvel or Fox is willing to tentetively put it on the schedule yet, for either 05 or 06 release.
- Arad reported that Captain America is in discussion with top writers and directors, now that litigation surrounding the character has been resolved.
- Arad said that the production budget for Punisher was in the upper $30s, while the marketing budget will most likely be in the mid $20s (millions).
-Finally, Arad said that he should be able to release more information about upcoming Marvel film projects closer to the November 18th analysts' call.
Pretty amazing, huh?

The Ring 2 and xXx2 update:
Dreamworks is van plan om zo snel mogelijk beginnen met het vervolg op de horror film The Ring 2, helaas zal
dit gebeuren zonder regisseur Gore Verbinski, commercials director Noam Murro gaat hem vervangen. Noami Watts
is wel van de partij voor de hoofdrol. The Ring 2 zal eind november 2004 uitgebracht worden.
Samuel L. Jackson is terug om de NSA agent in het vervolg op xXx te spelen. Lee Tamahori doet de
regie en Ice Cube krijgt het moelijk want die moet Vin Diesel vervangen...

Trailers!:
Ik heb een stel nieuwe trailers vandaag. De eerste is een trailer van The Punisher dat
veel mixed reviews heeft ontvangen. Tweede trailer is van Ghost in the Shell 2. De eerste
film was een soort inspiratie bron geweest voor de Wachowski Brothers toen ze The Matrix maakten. De laatste
trailer is van John Woo's sci-fi flick Paycheck. Click on the pics to check out the previews.

De teaser website van The Day After Tomorrow is nu online. De film is gemaakt door Roland
Emmerich, de regisseur van ID4 en Stargate. Het verhaal gaat over onze planeet dat getroffen wordt door
extreme weersomstandigheden. De website heeft nog niet veel te bieden maar er is wel een geweldige pic van
New York te zien.
UPDATED 05/11: Ik heb net de trailer ontvangen van The Day After Tomorrow en die is gewoon

The Z Review heeft meer info over de film The Sub Mariner,
gebasseerd op de Marvel comic:
"Last month Marvel Studios producer Kevin Feige said "We just got a script in, and it's pretty epic...We're going to do some minor polishes and then it goes to the studio." Namor has super strength and endurance, telepathic power over sea creatures, and the ability to breathe both in and out of water and the power of flight, via small wings on his ankles."
The Rock gaat misschien de hoofdrol spelen.

Starship Troopers 2 update:
Movie Hole sprak met veteran producer
Jon Davison die verantwoordelijk is voor blockbusters als Robocop, Twilight Zone The Movie en Starship Troopers.
Davison vertelde iets meer over de direct to video film Starship Troopers 2:
How did "Starship Troopers 2" turn out?
"I'm too close to it really judge it at this point but I think people will be surprised at the quality of the special effects. Some of the shots are better than most of the ones in the summer movies. I'm very interested in hearing what the fans say on the internet after they see it. The reaction to this movie will exist only on the internet. It will be reviewed in very few hardcopy rags. It's really a web only movie. And as we all know, some of these fans can be brutal."
Special effects guru Phil Tippett maakt zijn regie debuut met dit vervolg op Paul Verhoevens sci-fi film.

heeft een bezoekje gebracht aan de set van de comic based film waar ze spraken met de cast en regisseur
Jonathan Hensleigh:
"Did the look and the feel of the film come from the comic books? Writer/Director Jonathan Hensleigh explains, "I read all the comics, I didn't research, I read them all. I read every single Punisher comic. I went all the way back. I had to cull certain aspects from some of the comics and invent whole scale all the rest of it, the plot. I took the character Frank Castle and The Punisher from the comic book but I invented a great deal. I didn't want the origin story to be the first act, I wanted the origin story to take the entire film to tell, so I was mostly using the underlying event, which is the murder of Frank Castle's family and secondarily that moment, the series of visuals where Frank Castle actually becomes, like a metamorphosis of an insect, a cocoon springs forth and he blossoms as The Punisher. I started to build moving backward from that, the underlying event and those visuals when he really becomes "the guy" the wardrobe, the hair, the gun."
Oh yeah, this could be one kick ass movie!

Blade III plot summary revealed:
New Line Cinema heeft de plot details bekend gemaakt van de derde Blade Film, Blade: Trinity:
"Wesley Snipes returns as the day-walking vampire hunter in the explosive third and final film in the Blade franchise, Blade: Trinity. When the Vampire Nation hatches a plan to frame Blade in a series of brutal killings, he must join forces with the Nightstalkers, a clan of human vampire hunters, in an extreme battle in which the trail of blood leads directly to the notorious vampire legend, Dracula. Written and directed by David S. Goyer, Blade: Trinity also stars Jessica Biel as Abigail, the daughter of Whistler (Kris Kristofferson), who inherits the vampire-slaying duties that once belonged to Blade (Wesley Snipes); and Ryan Reynolds (National Lampoon's Van Wilder) as Hannibal King, one of the Nightstalkers."
Trail of blood leads to Dracula? Man, that's just awesome! Writer/director David S. Goyer is a genius!

US Box Office Oct 31 - Nov 02:
Scary Movie 3 heerst nog steeds over de US box office met een eerste plaats, dit weekend
haalde de horror comedy $21 miljoen binnen en heeft inmiddels een totale opbrengst van $78 miljoen, very
impressive! Disney's nieuwe tekenfilm Brother Bear kwam op de tweede plaats binnen met
$18 miljoen. Deze woensdag is het eindelijk zover, de dag dat vele fans met hartkloppingen in de bioscoop
zullen zitten, zal The Matrix Revolutions Reloaded overtreffen? Zal deze film de harten terug winnen van
de fans die het tweede deel maar niets vonden? Ik zit in ieder geval 's middags in Pathe Arena en heb ook
kaarten voor de avond voorstelling!

Batman Update:
Een betrouwbare bron van AICN
heeft heel interessant casting nieuws over de Batman film:
"Just got a scoop from a source within the Batcave...the producers are looking at a few high level actors for a few of the supporting roles. It looks like they are focused on Morgan Freeman for a "Dr./Scientist" role. What this role is, I don't know for sure...but it's possibly one of the main villian roles. And get this.....they are considering Anthony Hopkins for "Alfred". Looks like they are cleaning house and not letting anyone (ie: Michael Gough) from the past 2 crapfests near this baby...This much is certain from my source...this is a fresh start for the Caped Crusader!"
Hopkins als Alfred met een vleugje Hannibal, dat zou geweldig zijn!

Newsflash:
 Matthew Berry en Eric Abrams zullen een script gaan schrijven over de populaire Cartoon Network tekenfilmserie Johnny Bravo. WB is de studio achter de film en de hoofdrol wordt vertolkt door The Rock. Source: Variety.
Regisseur Martin Campbell zal volgend jaar weer achter de camera kruipen voor een vervolg op The Mask of Zorro. Produktie zal beginnen in het voorjaar 2004 en Antonio Banderas, Catherine Zeta-Jones en hopelijk Anthony Hopkins zullen ook weer meewerken aan de film. Source: Variety.
Paul Greengrass gaat de komende weken beginnen met het filmen van The Bourne Supremacy in Berlijn. Matt Damon zal ook deze keer de rol van Jason Bourne vertolken, eerder te zien in de blockbuster The Bourne Identity. Source: Variety.

Movie Hole heeft interessant nieuws over een mogelijk vervolg op League of Extraordinary Gentlemen! De cast zal waarschijnlijk weer terugkeren, actrice Peta Wilson toonde al interesse om weer de rol van Mina Harker te vertolken.
