Super Duper Superhero Flicks update!!!:
Oh boy, hieronder een hele grote update van de Superheldenfilms waar op dit moment aan gewerkt wordt. Helaas geen foto
van Brandon Routh als Superman, degene die mij de eerste foto kan leveren, krijgt een gratis painting! Hier volgt een overzicht, enjoy:
 Thomas Jane is klaar voor een vervolg op The Punisher. Hij heeft zelfs een aantal goede ideeën voor het verhaal:
"I know that the scene at the end of the first Punisher where I go up and take everybody out, that's going to be the opening of PUNISHER 2 where he'll be taking out another set of guys in another place - whole other context."
Maar er is meer, de acteur is ook gevraagd om een verhaal te schrijven voor de Punisher comics. Here is the pitch: "The Punisher is going to be infiltrating and breaking down a criminal organization who do real bad things. The guy at the center of it is going to be a family man with a wife and 2 kids. So he's going to be confronted with taking out the guy and taking food out of these kids' mouths. Finding that moral justification. That's where the Punisher fascinated me. It's like OK, you're doing what you're doing and going to kill the bad guys but the bad guys have kids and those kids are going to school and maybe one will be a doctor... you're spreading the disease, man. That's what interests me."

Daredevil regisseur Mark Steven Johnson sprak over zijn verfilming van de Ghost Rider comic. De hoofdrol wordt vertolkt door Nicolas Cage als de stuntman Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider. Mark is van plan om trouw te blijven aan het stripboek. Ghost Rider zal worden neergezet als een "Bounty hunter for the Devil" en de stijl van de film wordt door Mark omschreven als een "modern day western with supernatural elements". De outfit van Ghost Rider zal meerdere vormen aannemen, van een stuntman outfit tot de leren jack met kettingen en spijkers net als in de comics.

The X Files regisseur Rob Bowman heeft een babbeltje gemaakt met Wizard over zijn nieuwste film, Elektra! Hij vertelde waarom hij zich aangetrokken voelde tot het project:
"I signed on because I thought there was an opportunity to maybe open a new form of genre. [This] was not just a well-funded superhero spectacle. There were enough characters in the comic book world that don't have superhero powers that you can do a character study with, and I felt that Elektra-after doing quite a little bit of research on her, going back to Greek mythology and whatnot - had enough inner turmoil and tragedy and rage. She's a very, very troubled character, and I thought that was a movie in and of itself, you know. "Who is Elektra?" She wasn't just a nice girl down the street who got bit by something and got superpowers. She was extremely reluctant, and isolated and tragic.
What I want to make, what I explained to [the studio head], is a studio-backed independent film on steroids. That it was an independent film but I had more than $3 million. But I didn’t have a $100 million, and I was going to be forced to make a really cool, emotionally charged character study."

Chucky's son speaks!:
Lord of the Ring's Billy Boyd sprak met Scifi Wire over Seed of Chucky. De acteur
verzorgt de stem van Glen, de zoon van de killer dolls Chucky (Brad Dourif) en Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly):
"For the Chucky fans, all the Chucky stuff is there. And just because it's set in Hollywood, it has a whole other slant as well. There's a real lovely, funny take on how movies are made in Hollywood. It's a real weird story, and I think it will make people laugh, and I think it will make people s--t themselves. That's what Chucky movies are supposed to do.
The idea was to go on set and see what they were doing," Boyd said. "But I was busy, and I never actually made it out at all. So the first meeting we had and the first recording we did was done completely from photos. The [Glen] puppet hadn't even been made then. So it was all done through computer graphics.
Then, when I went back again later on, the puppet had been made, and I could watch footage of it that they'd shot, and I could see how he moved. Once we saw that, we started to rework the voice a little, because his movements and facial expressions made Glen even more of a character for me."
Seed of Chucky is in November in de Amerikaanse bioscopen te zien.

Nieuwe foto's van Revenge of the Sith zijn online verschenen. Bronnen vermelden tevens dat de nieuwe trailer te zien is tijdens de première van The Incredibles... dit geldt overigens alleen voor de Amerikaanse lezers. Klik op Anakin voor meer foto's.
Een geweldige foto van Fantastic Four's The Thing is ook online. De foto verscheen in The Toronto Star en Superhero Hype heeft er een scan van gemaakt. De huid van The Thing ziet er prachtig uit, click op de pic voor een grote versie.

Newsflash:
Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights) gaat The Kingdom regisseren. De film vertelt het verhaal van U.S. government officials die een aanslag moeten onderzoeken. Michael Mann (Collateral) zal de film produceren. Source: Variety
John Woo en Terence Chang gaan de actie-komedie Espionage for Dummies produceren. "Stevie Long has written a brilliant and funny script with the perfect potential to synergize with the "For Dummies" products and philosophy," vertelt Terence Chang. John Woo heeft druk want hij is op dit moment bezig met het filmen van Spy Hunter en heeft ook plannen gemaakt om een live-action versie van He-Man te regisseren. Source: Coming Soon
Oh boy, I love this, Ving Rhames (Mission: Impossible) speelt Kojak!!! Afgelopen augustus heeft men al een film opgenomen dat nu zal dienen als pilot van de nieuwe TV serie. "Ving's a world-class actor who has reinvented Kojak as a prince of his city - a man who will do whatever it takes to make his world a better place," vertelde USA Network's Jeff Wachtel. De serie zal in maart 2005 op de Amerikaanse beeldbuis verschijnen. Source: USA Network

Paul W.S. Anderson not on AVP2:
Alien vs Predator regisseur Paul W.S. Anderson bracht Empire online
op de hoogte dat hij zich niet zal bemoeien met een mogelijk vervolg:
"I'm not attached to any sequel. I never really made the movie with the intention of making a sequel. I wanted to do it as a stand-alone film that could hopefully succeed in its own terms, but also re-energise both franchises. So that Fox could go: "Well, that made a lot of money! If you want to see Predators and Aliens again let's make a Predator 3, let's make an Alien 5." The PredAlien was in the movie because it's a really cool creature from the comic books and I felt it had to be in the film. I really wanted to see it."

Stallone talks Rambo and Rocky:
Stallone sprak met Maxim Magazine over Rambo IV en Rocky VI!
Hij vertelde het volgende over Rocky:
"I'm always fired up to make another Rocky. It dawned on me a long time ago that I have this character who's almost autobiographical, so his story can keep going. The character can go places where the actor is in his life. The movies almost become documentaries. Society says to people, "Step aside; age gracefully." I've never thought there was anything graceful about aging. So I used what George Foreman did with his comeback fight a few years ago as a model. Everyone thought he was a joke, but he followed his own drum."
En hoe zit het dan met Rambo?:
"There has been movement in that area, yes. Of course, it won't be what you think - not the same Rambo with the headband. In keeping with some sort of believability, he would be passing the torch to a younger generation of high-tech combatants. We're working on an interesting premise where Rambo is brought back from living on a ranch somewhere, and because of his skills in jungle warfare and survival, he's asked to lead a young group in a search-and-rescue mission. They can't believe this decrepit guy is a war hero, but when their technology fails, they see where Rambo excels."

Rapper/actor LL Cool J zal Queen Latifah vergezellen in de remake van Last Holiday. Yep, het is ongelooflijk maar Hollywood lijkt geen inspiratie meer te hebben en haalt alleen maar oude films uit de kast om er een remake van te maken! Horror film The Grudge met Sarah Michelle Gellar, is de nummer 1 van de Amerikaanse Box Office en bracht 40 miljoen dollars op!

New Line is haastig opzoek naar een regisseur nadat ze David Hayter's Iron Man script hadden gelezen. Diverse bronnen vermelden het volgende over het verhaal:" The script is very Tom Clancy-esque in tone and involves the conflict between Tony Stark and his father Howard over Stark Industries. WB's Official Superman Announcement:
WB's heeft nu officieel bekend gemaakt dat Brandon Routh de nieuwe Superman is en geeft ook een update van de productie! Here ya go:
The untitled Superman movie is expected to begin principal photography in Australia early next year for release in summer, 2006.
Alan Horn, President and Chief Operating Officer of Warner Bros:"We are so pleased to have put this extraordinary team of filmmakers and talent together and to be moving forward with a project we've all anticipated so much. I think we're going to make a 'Superman' movie that all of us can be very proud to bring to our audience around the world."
Singer commented on his choice of a star, saying "Contrary to speculation, it was always my absolute intention to hire an unknown for this role. Brandon is an extremely fine actor who possesses the physical qualifications of Clark Kent/Superman. But he also embodies the legacy and history of this character in a way that makes me certain he's the right choice."
"We respect and appreciate the intense interest that our fans around the world have in 'Superman', and we went everywhere in search of a talented actor who would represent his look, character and presence," said Robinov (President of Production for Warner Bros.
