Renny Harlin saves the day?:
Renny Harlin heeft The Exorcist: The Beginning overgenomen van Regisseur Paul Schrader
die door de studio ontslagen is. Schrader wilde een psychologische thriller zonder "gore" maken maar
daar was de Studio het niet mee eens (en kwam er een beetje laat achter want alle scènes waren al gefilmd).
Renny zal er nu een commerciële, meer mainstream horrorfilm van maken. Reshoots beginnen in November met
een release date in April/Mei.

Hildago Poster:
Een nieuwe poster van Hildago met in de hoofdrol Viggo Mortensen (Lord of the Rings) is
nu online. "The movie is based on a true story of the greatest long-distance horse race ever run, the film
is an epic action-adventure and one man's journey of personal redemption." Joe Johnston (Jumanji en JP III)
is verantwoordelijk voor de regie.

Angel talks Crow 4!:
Angel ster David Boreanaz sprak over zijn rol in The Crow: Wicked Prayer. Hij speelt de
leider van een biker gang die Jimmy Cuervo (Edward Furlong) en zijn vriendin tijdens een ritueel vermoordt.
Uiteraard keert Jimmy terug om wraak te nemen.
"I was a bad guy," Boreanaz says. "He was the leader of [this gang called] The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse,
an ex-con. It was great. I had a lot of fun. It was a hard-paced film. We shot in 23 days. It was not an
easy shoot. But from what I hear from the trailer, it looks great. I've seen a little bit of dailies, I'm
happy. Dimension Films is happy. It could breathe some good life into a franchise that's been dead for a
while."
Zal deze versie Brandon Lee's film overtreffen? Dacht het niet... maar ben toch nieuwsgierig hoe de vierde Crow film gaat worden.

Carrey is The 6 Million Dollar Man:
Jim Carrey gaat de hoofdrol spelen in The Six Million Dollar Man. De film is gebasseerd
op de populaire TV serie en wordt geregisseerd door Todd Phillips (Old School). Dat betekent dus dat de
film een komedie gaat worden i.p.v. een sci-fi actie flick en ik weet nog steeds niet of ik daar nou wel
of niet blij mee ben.

Clive Owen talks King Arthur:
Acteur Clive Owen sprak over zijn hoofdrol in King Arthur: "It's a new take on the whole King Arthur story -- unlike anything you've ever seen before. What I didn't realise is that King Arthur is actually a myth that developed over hundreds of years and has been slowly pieced together. There's this sort of romantic vision of Arthur. Our version is set earlier than its usually set. We have it at 500 A.D. as opposed to medieval times. Basically, the Roman empire is crumbling. I play Arthur, who is half-Roman. He's a commander of a crack team of military knights who, at the beginning of the movie, gets the mission from hell -- to go into dangerous, unknown territory and rescue a family as the Saxons are invading by the thousands, and the rebels are out there fighting. Meanwhile, Arthur has always held onto Rome as something he wants to return to and something he reveres, but it keeps changing."
De film wordt geregisseerd door Antoine Fuqua (Training Day) en geproduceerd door Jerry Bruckheimer.

The Missing Poster:

heeft de sfeervolle poster van The Missing. De film is geregisseerd door Ron Howard met in
de hoofdrollen Tommy Lee Jones en Cate Blanchett. "The Missing is the story of Maggie Gilkeson (Cate Blanchett), a young woman raising her two daughters in an isolated and lawless wilderness. When her oldest daughter (Evan Rachel Wood) is kidnapped by a psychopathic killer with mystical powers (Eric Schweig), Maggie is forced to re-unite with her long estranged father (Jones) to rescue her. The killer and his brutal cult of desperados have kidnapped several other teenage girls, leaving a trail of death and horror across the desolate landscape of the American Southwest. Maggie and her father are in a race against time to catch up with the renegades and save her daughter, before they cross the Mexican border and disappear forever."

Aliens vs. Predator Details:
Superhero Hype
heeft meer nieuws over de Aliens vs. Predator film. Regisseur Paul W.S. Anderson vertelde iets
meer wat voor 'n soort film hij wilt maken: "Anderson tells us there is plenty of knock down action, alien & predator deaths
to keep everyone happy. He mentioned that he is the biggest Alien & Predator freak in the world, that he's
seen them more than any one and knows everything there is to know about the films. From what we saw (a
video montage of clips from all the predator & alien films) this looks to be the best fan favorite team up
since Freddy vs. Jason..."
Goed nieuws dus, ik begin weer een beetje vertrouwen te krijgen in dit project. Click hier

Casting News:
 Robert Duvall en Will Ferrell gaan samen een voetbalfilm maken (en dan praten over een echte voetbal film, geen American football) voor Universal Pictures. Source: Variety.
Owen Wilson zit in de onderhandelingsfase om naast Drew Barrymore te spelen in de romantische komedie Date School. Wilson speelt een dating instructeur die Drew aan een nieuwe vent moet helpen. Jon Favreau regisseert. Source: The Hollywood Reporter.
Onze eigen Famke Janssen zal met Robert de Niro in de thriller Hide and Seek spelen. Regisseur John Polson is op dit moment al in New York aan het filmen. Source: Variety.
Seann William Scott tekent misschien voor de hoofdrol in de comedy Sebastian Knight. "The story centers around a neurotic woman addicted to self-help who has a one-night stand with a guy only to find out he is a CIA agent who hooked up with her to get himself out of a jam." Source: Variety.

US Box Office Oct 17-19:
Leatherface hakte erop los afgelopen weekend en kwam op
nummer 1 binnen met $29 miljoen. Kill Bill zakte naar een tweede plaats maar voelt de
hete adem van nieuwkomer Runaway Jury op nummer drie. Jack Black's School of Rock
is still rockin' op nummer vier met een totale opbrengst van $55 miljoen.

Muppets and Rambo:
Leuk tussen-door-film-nieuws vandaag:
The Muppets zullen binnenkort weer een "hand up their ass" krijgen want de poppen worden weer gebruikt
voor een nieuwe film en wel een Muppet versie van de klassieker The Wizard of Oz! The
Muppets hebben eerder een remake gemaakt van klassiekers als Treasure Planet en Christmas Carol. Misschien
kunnen we binnenkort ook een Muppet versie verwachten van Silence of the Lambs met Kermit the Frog als Dr. Lecter!
Stallone sprak met Peoples magazine over Rambo IV: "I think Rambo is going to happen"
meaning a fourth installment of the action series. The 57-year old actor says he won't be the only one
playing the run and gun hero, but will bring in a new young star to take over. "Youth" says stallone,
"must be served."

The Punisher rated R + New Poster:
This is good news, het schijnt dat de comicbook movie The Punisher niet geschikt is
voor kids, de filmmakers willen trouw blijven aan het boek en hebben een hardcore actie film voor ogen,
dat betekent dus dat de film waarschijnlijk een "R-Rating" krijgt. "Obviously, we aren't in a position to rate the film", says producer Gale Anne Hurd,
"But in terms of the intensity and in terms of the action and all of that, the intent was certainly
not to make the G, PG or PG-13 version. That's certainly quite a distinction from the Hulk and
Spider-Man and the characters by rights that belong into a PG or PG-13 world. The Punisher doesn't."
Co-producer Ari Arad adds:"He's never been aimed towards younger kids. I think he was someone most
people discovered later. We never wanted to try it as PG-13. It's going to be The Punisher. It's
going to be intense. We never wanted to water it down for a younger audience."

Dawn of the Dead Trailer:
Een interessante trailer van Dawn of the Dead is online. Ik weet niet of de remake beter
is dan George A. Romero's originele versie maar de nieuwe film heeft in ieder geval Ving Rhames in de hoofdrol!
Mensen die niet bekend zijn met de classic zombie flick, hier is in het kort een omschrijving van de film:
"As a plague-like event unleashes armies of flesh-eating zombies, a nurse (Polley), a police officer (Rhames), and a clutch of survivors hole up in a shopping mall in a desperate fight for their lives."
