Newsflash:
Here's another newsflash of today, I'll be back this weekend with the next update, guys!;
George Clooney, Cate Blanchett and Tobey Maguire star in Steven Soderbergh's The Good German, yup, they do exist, click here to check out the trailer (the entry page looks awesome!).
Frank Darabont will direct Stephen King's The Mist! The story revolves around a small town where a thick mist engulfs the area, killing those caught in its darkness. Here's what Darabont had to say; "It's a project Stephen King and I have been talking about doing for almost 20 years now. In fact, it almost was my first directing project many years ago, but I went classy and did The Shawshank Redemption instead. It's time to get down and dirty and make a nasty little character-driven gut-punch horror movie." Source: Variety
Shawn Roberts will star in Zombie Meister George A. Romero's latest undead flick Diary of the Dead. The film centers on a group of film students who encounter real zombies when making a horror movie in the woods. Source: Variety
The official website for the fantasy epic Eragon is now online right here!

Tim Story's Fantastic Four 2 update:
Tim Story once again posted an update on his official blog about the production of Fantastic Four: Rise of The Silver Surfer:
"Shooting has been going well. We are all over the place... lots of locations. Don't want to give away too much but our Fan 4 travel quite a bit through this one.
I'm having a ball with Ben Grimm in clothes though. Michael is too. The last film we couldn't really go there but now he's very comfortable with himself. Ben that is, not Michael.
Starting to see a lot of stuff from WETA on Surfer. Bad ass Ladies and Gentlemen. Trust me - digital is the way to go with this. You can't do this stuff for real."
Thanks for the update, Tim, click here to read more!

Lance Henriksen wants Near Dark remake!:
Lance Henriksen, one of the original stars of the 1987 cult classic Near Dark, wants to be part of the remake! Check this out;
"It's one of my favorites, Near Dark. If they were smart, what they would do is get a hold of Bill Paxton, Jenette Goldstein and me, and do something that starts as a prequel to Near Dark. They need to have a conversation with us, because, man, Billy Paxton and I have been talking about this, about what we would do, if we did a prequel. And really great stuff came up. So it would be very wise of them to connect with us.
We all had so much fun doing Near Dark. We really created a lot of it, right there on the set. So put out a message, man. Tell them we're sitting by the side of the road, waiting for them to drive by, if you know what I mean."
There you go, hope the director will read this! I really love Kathryn Bigelow's original version and was kinda pissed off about the remake announcement. Henriksen's take on the remake sounds
pretty awesome but I guess the studio will go for a more fast and slick version with a younger cast.

The trailer for Jackie Chan's Rob-B-Hood is now online! Looks like the film is an old school Hong Kong family-friendly production. I think it's great that Chan is making both Hollywood and Hong Kong productions. Click here for the trailer.

Todd Phillips talks Old School 2:
School for Scoundrels director Todd Phillips is currently writing a sequel to his 2003 comedy hit Old School, which starred Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn and Luke Wilson.
Here's what Phillips had to say:
"Will's interested, but that being said, right now we don't have any of the actors involved until we've finished writing the script. Not until the script is done will we go to Will and Vince and Luke and see if they'll do it.
Those guys are why I want to re-visit this. These are characters I loved. It's not like I'm going to get paid more money if I do Old School 2 than if I do a different movie. It's because I think Old School really connected with people and it's something I'd like to revisit. Frank the Tank, everyone. I want to see those characters in a different setting and in a real way."
I really love Old School, the guys had great chemistry and, of course, Frank the Tank rules!!! I'll keep you posted.

Michael Caine as Batman?!:
Oh yeah, Michael Caine, who played the butler Alfred in Batman Begins, has made some interesting suggestions to director Christopher Nolan for the Batman sequel, The Dark Knight. Check this out:
"I was talking to the widow of the man who wrote Batman, and she said that he wrote a marvelous scene that we should do in our next movie. She told me that he wrote a sequence where Batman was trying to get bad guys, and he wanted to use the butler dressed as Batman as a ruse, and then go back around behind him. So I said to Christopher, and I don't know whether he's going to use it, because he won't tell you anything about the script, but I mentioned this to him, because I thought that this was a great idea. I think that if he dresses me as Batman, it could be one of the funniest sequences in the history of movies.
Can you imagine what I would make out of that? Trying to get into the Batman suit and then running around the woods while he's going around the other way to try and get the bad guys? See, you're already laughing, and those films are very serious. My job is to bring the humor of the sort of ordinary person being in that situation, which is what I am."
That's hilarious! I hope Nolan will listen to Caine.

Hugh Jackman talks Wolverine!:
Hugh Jackman says that the script for Wolverine is ready! The script is written by
David Benioff who also wrote the fantastic 25th Hour. Wolverine will be a prequel
that will establish who he is and how he becomes Wolverine. Here's what Jackman has to say;
"We've now signed off on the script. If you know about the history of X-Men movies, that's a revolution for us. We're a year away from shooting the film and we have the script. And, by the way, it is unbelievable. It's a David Benioff script. He's probably the hottest writer going around town, and he was beating down our door to write this movie. It was the most amazing thing. So, we have this fantastic script. I've got a couple of movies coming out in the next month, and I might be able to tell you who the director is by then. We're seriously into talking about it now."

Tonight, He Comes update:
It's official, Peter Berg is set to direct Tonight, He Comes, a film that will star Will Smith as a superhero in existential crisis.
The film will be loaded with visual effects, like any other superhero flick, but the storyline is far less predictable.
Smith's character is a drinking, smoking, womanizer and has a rock star-like lifestyle. The public is as sick of him as he is of them, until he finds a special connection with a married housewife. Shooting will start in May for a summer 2008 release.
Akiva Goldsman, Michael Mann, James Lassiter and Smith will produce. Peter Berg is a great director, looking forward to see this flick but
I hope they change the movie's title though.
