Newsflash:
Hier volgt weer een supersnelle newsflash, volgende update is dit weekend, guys!;
 George Clooney, Cate Blanchett en Tobey Maguire vertolken de hoofdrollen in Steven Soderbergh's The Good German, yup, goede Duitsers bestaan, klik hier om de trailer te bewonderen (the entry page looks awesome!).
Frank Darabont's volgende film wordt Stephen King's The Mist! De film vertelt het verhaal van een klein plaatsje dat overvallen wordt door een dodelijke dikke mist. Here's what Darabont had to say; "It's a project Stephen King and I have been talking about doing for almost 20 years now. In fact, it almost was my first directing project many years ago, but I went classy and did The Shawshank Redemption instead. It's time to get down and dirty and make a nasty little character-driven gut-punch horror movie." Source: Variety

Tim Story's Fantastic Four 2 update:
Tim Story heeft opnieuw een update op zijn blog geplaatst over de productie van Fantastic Four: Rise of The Silver Surfer:
"Shooting has been going well. We are all over the place... lots of locations. Don't want to give away too much but our Fan 4 travel quite a bit through this one.
I'm having a ball with Ben Grimm in clothes though. Michael is too. The last film we couldn't really go there but now he's very comfortable with himself. Ben that is, not Michael.
Starting to see a lot of stuff from WETA on Surfer. Bad ass Ladies and Gentlemen. Trust me - digital is the way to go with this. You can't do this stuff for real."

Lance Henriksen wants Near Dark remake!:
Lance Henriksen, een van de originele castmembers van de cultfilm Near Dark (1987), heeft bekend gemaakt dat die heel graag een rol wilt spelen in de remake! Check this out;
"It's one of my favorites, Near Dark. If they were smart, what they would do is get a hold of Bill Paxton, Jenette Goldstein and me, and do something that starts as a prequel to Near Dark. They need to have a conversation with us, because, man, Billy Paxton and I have been talking about this, about what we would do, if we did a prequel. And really great stuff came up. So it would be very wise of them to connect with us.
We all had so much fun doing Near Dark. We really created a lot of it, right there on the set. So put out a message, man. Tell them we're sitting by the side of the road, waiting for them to drive by, if you know what I mean."
There you go, ik hoop dat de regisseur de oproep leest! Ik ben een grote liefhebber van Kathryn Bigelow's originele versie en was behoorlijk pissed toen bekend werd dat er een remake gemaakt zou worden. Henriksen's idee
is fantastisch maar ik ben bang dat de studio kiest voor een gladde, gelikte versie met een jonge cast.

Hi guys, wederom een grote update vandaag, eerst even het laatste filmnieuws:
Rob Cohen, regisseur van de biopic Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, gaat een nieuwe film maken met de kung fu master in de hoofdrol. Rage & Fury is geschreven door Gustin Nash en Jesse Cale, de opnames beginnen in het voorjaar van 2007. Source: Production Weekly
Diane Lane speelt de hoofdrol in de thriller Untraceable dat geregisseerd wordt door Gregory Hoblit. De film vertelt het verhaal van een FBI cybercop die een gevaarlijke online killer moet opsporen. Source: Variety
De trailer van Jackie Chan's Rob-B-Hood is nu online! De film is een echte family-friendly Hong Kong production. Ik vind het goed van Jackie om zijn gelikte Hollywood films af te wisselen met de meer spontane Hong Kong productions. Klik hier voor de trailer.

Todd Phillips talks Old School 2:
School for Scoundrels regisseur Todd Phillips is begonnen aan het script van het vervolg op zijn comedy hit Old School, waarin Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn en Luke Wilson schitterden.
Here's what Phillips had to say:
"Will's interested, but that being said, right now we don't have any of the actors involved until we've finished writing the script. Not until the script is done will we go to Will and Vince and Luke and see if they'll do it.
Those guys are why I want to re-visit this. These are characters I loved. It's not like I'm going to get paid more money if I do Old School 2 than if I do a different movie. It's because I think Old School really connected with people and it's something I'd like to revisit. Frank the Tank, everyone. I want to see those characters in a different setting and in a real way."
Old School was een van de betere comedies van dat jaar en de guys hadden een geweldige chemistry, zou mooi zijn als iedereen weer tekent voor het vervolg. I'll keep you posted, Frank the Tank rules!

Michael Caine as Batman?!:
Oh yeah, Michael Caine, te zien als Alfred in Batman Begins, heeft een interessant idee voor het vervolg, The Dark Knight, check this out:
"I was talking to the widow of the man who wrote Batman, and she said that he wrote a marvelous scene that we should do in our next movie. She told me that he wrote a sequence where Batman was trying to get bad guys, and he wanted to use the butler dressed as Batman as a ruse, and then go back around behind him. So I said to Christopher, and I don't know whether he's going to use it, because he won't tell you anything about the script, but I mentioned this to him, because I thought that this was a great idea. I think that if he dresses me as Batman, it could be one of the funniest sequences in the history of movies.
Can you imagine what I would make out of that? Trying to get into the Batman suit and then running around the woods while he's going around the other way to try and get the bad guys? See, you're already laughing, and those films are very serious. My job is to bring the humor of the sort of ordinary person being in that situation, which is what I am."
That's hilarious! Ik hoop dat Nolan het idee van Caine in het script gaat verwerken.

The Grudge 2 was de grote winnaar afgelopen weekend! De film verdiende 22 miljoen dollas! The Departed, de nummer 1 van vorige week,

Hugh Jackman talks Wolverine!:
Volgens Hugh Jackman is het script van Wolverine gereed! Het script is geschreven door David Benioff
die ook het fantastische verhaal schreef voor Spike Lee's 25th Hour. Wolverine wordt een
prequel dat de achtergrond van onze superheld onderzoekt en hoe Logan Wolverine is geworden. Jackman vertelt het volgende;
"We've now signed off on the script. If you know about the history of X-Men movies, that's a revolution for us. We're a year away from shooting the film and we have the script. And, by the way, it is unbelievable. It's a David Benioff script. He's probably the hottest writer going around town, and he was beating down our door to write this movie. It was the most amazing thing. So, we have this fantastic script. I've got a couple of movies coming out in the next month, and I might be able to tell you who the director is by then. We're seriously into talking about it now."

Tonight, He Comes update:
It's official, Peter Berg wordt de regisseur van Tonight, He Comes, een film met in de hoofdrol Will Smit als een superheld met een identiteitscrisis.
De film zit net als de andere superheldenfilms vol met visual effects maar heeft daarnaast ook een minder clichématig verhaal.
Smith's personage drinkt, rookt, is een womanizer en leeft als een soort rockstar waardoor de burgers hem behoorlijk zat worden.
Het filmen begint in mei en de release vindt in 2008 plaats. De film wordt geproduceerd door Akiva Goldsman, Michael Mann, James Lassiter en Smith.
Peter Berg is een geweldige regisseur, ben benieuwd wat voor een film het gaat worden maar ik hoop wel dat ze de titel gaan veranderen.
