No More James Bond for Brosnan:
Pierce Brosnan bevestigt dat hij niet meer in de huid van James Bond zal kruipen:
"It's over, it's over, it's absolutely over. It's very hard to find the truth in that town (Hollywood) or in this business at times. But it was their (the producers) prerogative to change their minds. They can do it!"
De producers Barbara Broccoli en Michael Wilson zijn op zoek naar een jonge acteur voor de hoofdrol... en ik denk dat ze een juiste beslissing maken!

Eeen creepy teaser trailer van The Ring 2 is nu online. De cast bestaat uit Naomi Watts, Sissy Spacek en Elizabeth Perkins. Hideo Nakata is verantwoordelijk voor de regie, hij maakte overigens ook de originele Japanse versies, Ringu en Ringu 2.
Robert Luketic gaat waarschijnlijk de big screen version van Dallas regisseren. Robert Harling (Steel Magnolias) schreef het script, Luketic regisseerde ook Legally Blonde. Source: The Hollywood Reporter
Colin Farrell (Alexander) wordt genoemd om de rol van Sonny Crockett in Miami Vice te spelen. Jamie Foxx zal waarschijnlijk de rol van Ricardo Tubbs op zich nemen, Michael Man zal de film schrijven, produceren en regisseren. Source: Variety

Regisseur Bryan Singer sprak met AICN over de nieuwe
Superman film!:
AICN: Where do you stand right with casting SUPERMAN? Is it really going to be called SUPERMAN RETURNS?
That's strictly a working title. But it is a return story. It puts the first films in a kind of vague history. So what it doesn't do is tread over the 1978 Richard Donner film, it doesn't tread over "Smallville." It elaborates on the existence of Superman in the world in a history. He's out of the culture and then he returns.
AICN: Will you be using footage from the other films?
(Long pause) It's possible. There's an introduction sequence that may or may not involve something like that, but not in the way you might be thinking.
I had a very strong vision for the next X-MEN picture. But SUPERMAN has always been a dream of mine. Things weren't moving as quickly as...it was difficult, and I love those actors and I have a strong relationship with the X-Men universe. I'm still taking over the writing of Ultimate X-Men for a year, so I'm by no means out of that universe. But I've had an idea for a SUPERMAN movie for many years, so for me the fact that it was available and Warner Bros. was willing to take everything it had spent 11 years developing with three other directors and throw it completely out and let me start from scratch at an accelerated level of time...once they showed the willingness, the desire and excitement to do that after my pitch, it became an obvious choice for me, but a difficult one.
I'm very much a fan of the 1978 Donner film. That film, particularly it's first act, was a complete, day-to-day inspiration to the first X-MEN film for all of us. It's very exciting to do it. As for Dick, I'm a huge fan of his, to be able to try to protect some semblance of this character and not mess around with it.
Bryan Singer bevestigde ook dat James Caviezel niet in aanmerking komt voor de hoofdrol. Singer is van plan om een onbekende acteur te gebruiken die de Man of Steel zal spelen.

Revenge of the Sith update:
The Force.net heeft een beschrijving van de Star Wars Episode III - Revenge of the Sith teaser trailer geplaatst! Here's a clip:
The monologue ends with "Vader was seduced by the dark side of the Force" about 40 seconds into the trailer do we see the face of Anakin. He is partly covered with dark hood, looking positively evil.
This is followed by the shot of erupting volcanoes, then some sort of volcanic field with crab-like creatures and then darkness, all accompanied by Vader breathing. Then the following is heard:
Sidious: "Lord Vader..."
Vader: "Yes?"
Sidious: "Rise."

Newsflash:
Leuke Fat Albert trailer is nu online!
Screenwriter Bruce Feirstein zal het script van The A-Team gaan schrijven. De toon van de film, gebaseerd op de gelijknamige TV-serie, zal minder "cartoony" zijn en wordt iets serieuzer aangepakt met als voorbeeld de Die Hard en Lethal Weapon films. Bruce Feirstein schreef o.a. de scripts van Goldeneye, Tomorrow Never Dies, en The World is Not Enough. Source Variety
Nu wordt duidelijk waarom Sam Raimi geen toestemming heeft gegeven om Ash te laten meedoen in het vervolg op Freddy vs. Jason. Raimi wilt namelijk een nieuwe Evil Dead film maken!: "I would actually love to and one day I hope to. I hope sooner rather than later. I really had a lot of fun with them, and I think the audience may now want to see one. Maybe when I'm done with the Spider-Man movie I can get to work on one." Source Filmforce

Superman died:
Man, ik kan de juiste woorden niet vinden om dit artikel te schrijven. Christopher Reeve belandde in een
coma nadat hij zaterdag een hartstilstand kreeg. Zondag is hij op 52-jarige leeftijd overleden.
Christopher Reeve was mijn held, ik geloofde echt dat een man kon vliegen toen ik Superman
in de bioscoop zag. Deze film veranderde mijn leven! Christopher Reeve was niet alleen een superheld op
het grote doek maar ook in het dagelijks leven, I'll miss him.

de cast bestaat uit Nicolas Cage, Harvey Keitel, Jon Voight, Diane Kruger en Sean Bean. De film vertelt het verhaal
van de treasure-seeker Benjamin Franklin Gates die een plan heeft bedacht om één van de kostbaarste schatten uit

Sam Raimi talks Spidey and Ash!:
Sam Raimi zal geen toestemming geven om zijn Evil Dead karakter Ash te laten vechten tegen
Freddy en Jason:
"I have great respect for those franchises. I didn't want to be in a position where I was protecting Ash, the character that I want to eventually make another movie with one day, protecting him and not allowing the director to do what he felt he had to do. I didn't want to be in a weird position like that. I have a great deal or respect for Sean Cunningham. I think he's a brilliant filmmaker. He made some classics. I just didn't think it was a winning great situation for anybody."
Hij liet overigens wel weten of Ash zou kunnen winnen van de twee killers:
"I don't know, can you kill Freddy or Jason? I think Bruce Campbell woulda' kicked their asses. First I think they would have had their way with him in probably 80 minutes of punishing him which I would have enjoyed."
Sam Raimi vertelde meer over de derde Spider-man film en onthulde schokkend nieuws:
"One thing that Amy Pascal told me was that she wants to make this a proper ending to the Spider-Man saga. I'd like to keep directing Spider-Man movies but I think she's thinking that the audience feels they want to see one more and no more. They want to have a proper ending to the story now. So I think maybe she's right, and so I'm approaching it under her guidance and that's how I'm trying to think of this film as the end."
Kortom Spider-man 3 zal de laatste film van de franchise worden! Ik denk dat het een goede
beslissing is, stop ermee nu het nog een succes is en voordat het publiek genoeg krijgt van al die superheldenfilms.

U.S. Box Office Oct 08-10:
Shark Tale heerst voor een tweede week over de Amerikaanse Box Office. De film bracht $31 miljoen
op met een totaal bedrag van $87 miljoen!
De football film Friday Night Lights met Billy Bob Thornton, kwam op een tweede plaats binnen met
$20 miljoen. Queen Latifah's komedie Taxi, de remake van de gelijknamige Franse film, deed het
iets minder dan verwacht met een vierde plaats. Here's the rest of The Top Ten:

Reggy's Quick Reviews:
De afgelopen maanden loopt Nederland weer eens behoorlijk achter op de Amerikaanse releases. Films die begin deze zomer in The States zijn uitgekomen of zelfs eerder zoals Hellboy, zijn nu pas in ons landje te zien. Ik probeer mijn recensies meestal af te stemmen op films die uitkomen in Amerika daar de meeste bezoekers van de site yankees zijn.
Maar de afgelopen maanden zijn er wel een aantal films uitgebracht waar ik graag mijn mening over wil geven. Daarom volgt hieronder een korte maar krachtige recensie van de belangrijkste films die ik afgelopen tijd in de bioscoop heb gezien!
De volgende titels worden besproken: Hellboy, Walking Tall, Man on Fire, The Punisher, The Stepford Wives, Collateral, The Bourne Supremacy en Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, klik hier en veel leesplezier!

Ik heb weer nieuwe posters gevonden op internet, we beginnen met de mooie poster van Jim Carrey's Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. De tweede poster is van Dennis Quaid's action flick Flight of the Phoenix. Klik op de poster voor een grote versie.

Ice Age 2 update!:
Acteur Ray Romano sprak over een vervolg op de animatiefilm Ice Age! Hij vertelde meer over het verhaal en nieuwe karakters die we
te zien krijgen in Ice Age 2:
"There’s a script and they’re negotiating and I think it’s going to happen. I read the script a couple months ago. What happens now is I think they're worried about everything melting. I think it starts out where they have to flee because they're about to get flooded. I know Manny gets a girlfriend in it, my character. This is how sad I am, I'm excited about that. You know how you get, when you're in a film and you're going to have a boyfriend or a girlfriend, a little bit of excitement. I'm excited about my animated character having one. I wonder if I'll get a crush on her or something. She's not even going to be in the studio."

Newsflash:
Een scooper vermeldt dat Steve Martin wordt benaderd om Perry White te gaan spelen in de nieuwe Superman film. Het is overigens ook nog niet bekend wie Superman gaat vertolken. Source: Latino Review
Een sfeervolle nieuwe trailer van The Machinist is nu online. De thriller is geregisseerd door Brad Anderson en de cast bestaat uit Christian Bale en Jennifer Jason Leigh.
Cinescape heeft een boel nieuwe foto's geplaatst van Robert Zemeckis' tekenfilm The Polar Express. Tom Hanks verzorgt de stemmen van een aantal karakters, klik op de pic voor meer.
