John Woo's Paycheck Update:
Terence Chang, longtime working partner and producer of Hong Kong director John Woo, talked to Sci Fi Wire about the upcoming SF thriller Paycheck. Woo and Chang didn't read the Philip K. Dick story and are also no SF fans...but I bet they'll make a kick-ass movie:
"We came onto the project when there was already a script, so we [didn't] have to do the adaptation," Chang said in an interview on the film's Vancouver, B.C., set. "John Woo doesn't like science fiction. And this is a science fiction story. So we've got to change the script. I mean, we keep the essence of the story, [as well as] the science fiction element, but also made it into something that John feels comfortable with, meaning this will be an action thriller, [a] suspense thriller.
The story stands on its own, it's just like Face/Off is science fiction, for instance. On Face/Off the original script was very, very sci-fi. But [Woo] just stripped the script of all the sci-fi elements, but kept the face-swapping part and made it an emotional suspense thriller."

George Clooney talks Ocean's 12:
Clooney talked about Ocean's 12 during an interwiew with Coming Soon: We start March 1st. We're shooting a little bit in Paris, a little bit in Amsterdam and then in Rome for a while. It's going to be fun, we're going to have a good time. Everybody came back and the first thing that happens is that everybody starts talking, they go, 'Okay, we've had a big hit' so immediately it became these big negotiations which was really interesting. Then we all sat in a room and said, 'Look. Let's do it for five percent less and then we can say we're there because we want to be there because that's truly why we're there.' So, we all just said okay let's do it that way. We had a good time doing the last one and we make good money on the backend so if it works, it works and if it doesn't we get to make a movie together."

Riddick Update:
Actor Karl Urban talked to Empire Magazine about The Chronicles of Riddick, a.k.a Pitch Black II. The Vin Diesel sci-fi will set a new tone for this genre:
"It's about time we reclaimed science fiction and made it dark. It's gotten a little candy on us lately, but we are going to flip that". Urban's entire role in the movie is that of aiming to take Vin down - "[I'm] a deadly enforcer of a dark place. Vin is prey for my part. I mean, in this film you're either the hunter or the hunted."

Hensleigh talks The Punisher:
Writer/director Jonathan Hensleigh talked to Wizard Magazine about his latest project The Punisher!:
When you were working on the script for "The Punisher," were there any particular Punisher stories that you were influenced by?
"There were two, and one in particular. The first was Punisher: Year One. It was a four-issue set that came out in 1994-1995. It has this really cool cover art and I highly recommend it. I took just pieces of the plot. The plotline was way, way too involved and it would have been "Gone With the Wind" - a four-hour action movie. So there was that, and I was very heavily influenced by Garth Ennis', Welcome Back Frank. That's where I took the tenement apartment, the characters of Spacker Dave, Joan the Mouse, Mr. Bumpo and the Russian. The Russian is appearing in probably the most elaborate and costly of our set pieces."
