Casting news:
Helaas geen grote headlines deze week maar wel een aantal interessante casting updates:
 Adrien Brody (The Village) zal één van de hoofdrollen vertolken in Truth, Justice and the American Way. De biografisch film gaat over het leven van acteur George Reeves. Source: Variety
Acteur/zanger Harry Connick Jr. is te zien in de drama/komedie Boomerang Deal. Phillip Marzella heeft het script geschreven en zal de film ook regisseren. Source: Production Weekly
50 Cents maakt zijn film debuut in Locked and Loaded. De semi-biografische film vertelt het verhaal van een drugsdealer die probeert door te breken in de muziek industrie. Source: Billboard
Milla Jovovich speelt tegenover Billy Bob Thornton in Fade Out. De film wordt omschreven als een Hitchcock-achtige thriller. Source: The Hollywood Reporter

Flight of the Phoenix poster:
Mooie nieuwe poster van Flight of the Phoenix is online! Het verhaal gaat over een aantal plane-crash
survivors die gestrand zijn in een Mongoolse woestijn. Daar willen ze van de wrakstukken een nieuw vliegtuig maken. De cast bestaat
uit Dennis Quaid, Giovanni Ribisi en Tyrese Gibson. Klik op de poster, dat een beetje op Con Air lijkt, om een grote versie
te zien.

George Lucas talks Star Wars and Indy:
George Lucas sprak met Empire Online en
gaf een update over de status van Revenge Of The Sith:
"It's going very well, I just finished shooting in London for two weeks, so the last shot of Star Wars has been shot, and now I have to cut that all in. I'm really happy with it. It's very dark, obviously, because everyone gets killed in the end. But it will make the whole six movies make sense."
Lucas vertelde ook meer over de vertraagde Indiana Jones IV film:
"We are working on the next script. Another writer has started working on it. We're just not going to make it unless it's really good. One of the reasons I'm able to work with Steven so well is because every time we come to a disagreement we'll yield to the other one, which means we'll come up with a compromise that considers both sides, and one person isn't determined to have his way. It's what's best for the movie."
Tenslotte liet Lucas weten dat hij niet van plan is om Star Wars episodes 7, 8 en 9 te maken.

Hi guys, ik heb veel e-mails ontvangen met de vraag wanneer de Movie Art section wordt
ge-update. Well, ik ben de afgelopen tijd een beetje druk geweest met een aantal projecten maar ik
heb tussendoor nog wel een paar nieuwe schilderijen kunnen maken voor de website. Waarschijnlijk zal ik dit
binnen een paar weken scannen en uploaden. Ik werk ook aan een kleine comic, wil even iets leuks

Newsflash:
Naked Gun regisseur David Zucker gaat de komedie Superhero schrijven en regisseren. De film wordt een persiflage op de superhelden films. David Zucker is ook gevraagd om Scary Movie 4 te gaan maken. Source: Variety
USA Today heeft als eerste een foto van de superhelden film The Fantastic Four geplaatst! Op de foto is Jessica Alba te zien als Sue Storm, het blauwe pakje ziet er goed uit. De rest van de cast bestaat uit Michael Chiklis als Thing, Chris Evans als Human Torch, Ioan Gruffudd als Reed Richards and Julian McMahon als the villain Dr. Doom. Tim Story (Barbershop) regisseert de film: "Part of the appeal of the Fantastic Four is they don't use secret identities or wear masks. They walk amongst New Yorkers who accept them and go to the grocery store to buy milk, just regular people dealing with life who happen to have extraordinary abilities. They don't always like each other, but they do love each other."

U.S. Box Office Sept 17-19:
Sky Captain is op nummer 1 binnengekomen in de Amerikaanse Box Office en verdiende maar
liefst 16 miljoen bucks!!! Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow en Angelina Jolie spelen de hoofdrol in de live-action-CGI film.
Andere nieuwkomer Mr. 3000 met Bernie Mac, kwam op de tweede plaats binnen met $9 miljoen.

Nicolas Cage talks Ghost Rider:
Empire online heeft
een exclusief interview gehad met Nicolas Cage die meer vertelde over zijn nieuwste project, de superhelden film
Superma... ik bedoel, Ghost Rider!!! Het verhaal gaat over de stuntman Johnny Blaze die een
deal maakt met de duivel. Here's what Cage had to say:
"What I love about this idea for a comic book is that, if you think about it, it's really complex. Obviously the movie should be fun and it has to have humour but if you think about a superhero who's using the powers of hell for good… I mean, that is a very profound, complicated concept for a superhero. Hellboy is a later character. Ghost Rider's been cursed by the devil but he's not going to let the devil win. He sold his soul out of love, he was trying to save his father's life, and then he got tricked by the trickster. But because he did it out of love the devil can't get him. He can outfox the devil and use his powers for love and good, which is interesting."
Nicolas Cage explained a bit about how the look of Ghost Rider's burning skull will be changed for the movie:
"Well I won't be THAT face, but it's important to the filmmaker that there's still moments in the CGI of the face where you can still see my own expressions, so I can work that out with them. It's hard to have a skull make facial expressions.
Ghost Rider is one of the original American Marvel comic icons. He was sort of the icon for motorcyclists that the silver surfer was for surfers. Imagine Evel Knievel with a flaming skull for a head. It should be fun."
Ben erg benieuwd hoe deze film gaat worden. Mark Steven Johnson (Daredevil) zal Ghost Rider regisseren.

Ik heb weer nieuwe trailers voor jullie vandaag, we beginnen met the action packed Blade: Trinity, vervolgens
de hilarische The Incredibles (absoluut de
moeite waard om te bekijken) en tenslotte een indrukwekkende scène uit Mamoru Oshii's Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence.

Katie Holmes talks Batman Begins:
Katie Holmes vertelde meer over haar rol als Bruce Wayne's love interest in Batman Begins:
"It's more of a talky role, I'm not into stunts. Not one of those girls. I like it real easy. I actually find it to be more challenging to be in a huge effects movie because a lot of the things aren't there, so you have to trust the director. You react to nothing. And with this particular project, the cast is very intimidating. And Chris Nolan is amazing, but I was just so thrilled to be with these people that I was like, 'I have to do this so right and perfect.' So I think if I get to be in another one, maybe I'll relax a bit."

Leatherface prequel details:
Producer Brad Fuller sprak met Zap2it
over de prequel van The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Het verhaal zal zich richten op Leatherface
en zijn nogal bizarre inteelt familie:
"It won't have any of the young actors from the first (like Jessica Biel), this is a prequel. But there will be a group of teen and young adults in their 20s who make an unfortunate decision to end up in this town. The old man had no legs, we hope to answer questions about that. We hope that you'd eventually be able to watch the two movies together and it will explain a lot of questions that were unanswered.
I hope that R. Lee Ermey, who played Sheriff Hoyt, will return. He elevated that movie in much the same way as Philip Baker Hall does with Amityville."
