Quote of the Day:
Jango Fett is terug in Episode III. Vreemd, want zoals iedereen weet is hij onthoofd in Attack of the Clones. Acteur Temuera Morrison (go see Once Were Warriors) vertelt aan Stuff hoe ze hem weer tot leven hebben gewekt:
"I know in episode two I died, but they cloned me. Of all the people in the world, they cloned a sheep and me."

Bruckheimer talks King Arthur!:
"It's King Arthur, a retelling of the tale the legends came from. We've hired a number of historians that are working with us. They've spent much of their lives researching the Arthur legend. The first written word was written by a monk that called him the Duke of Battles, a Roman named Arturius. There was a very famous battle at the end of the fifth century where a Roman led the Britons and the Roman legions against the Saxons, who were trying to invade Britain. He beat them and kept beating them. He kept them pinned on the coast. That's why they became the Anglo-Saxon race and not just the Saxon race. The Saxon's were considered barbarian invaders, but the Romans had conquered the world and had their legions everywhere. We are basing it on the fact that he was a Roman commander. The knights were Saramathean's (sp?). There were all these Saramathean communities in Britain at the time. They had the great cavalry. They developed the stirrup. They had much more control of their horses."

Banderas and Once Upon A Time In Mexico!:
Latino Review sprak met El Mariachi himself, Antonio Banderas, over Once Upon A Time in Mexico. Like I said before, with Robert Rodriguez, I would follow him to hell. I don't care what part he offers me, I'm fine working for him, so I could do another film, but I don't think he wants to do any more sequels to Desperado. I think this film finishes the cycle. But you never know. If we open up with $60 million dollars, someone will say to him, "Please do another one!" I don't know what's going to happen but I think this is it."

Indy IV Update:
Marshall vertelt dat ze met de nieuwe film meer richting de old school spfx gaan i.p.v. de moderne CGI effecten: "One of the things I enjoy about these movies is that they do recall the old cliffhanger serials of the thirties and forties. We didn't have computer effects in those days, we couldn't easily erase things and I think one of the unfortunate by-products of the computer age is that it makes filmmakers lazy... In Raiders, that's a real ball rolling behind him so Harrison really is in some danger running in front of that; these are real situations and that adds to the excitement and the creative energy on the set. We're not done with the script on Indy 4 but I think we're going to try and rely, like the first two movies, on realism and not try to do too many things with the computer...When you start getting into computers you get fantastical situations like in the Matrix or movies like that. We don't want that, we want exciting heroism, we want seat-of-your-pants, skin-of-your-teeth action. We didn't have all the money in the world on the first films and we want to keep that B-Movie feel. We want to make Indy 4 like we made the first three."

Casting news:
Ik vond vandaag een paar interessante ontwikkelingen op casting gebied, check it out:
Val Kilmer gaat de vader van Colin Farrell spelen in Alexander the Great.
Dominic Purcell (John Doe TV serie) zal the bad guy of beter gezegd the bad vampire spelen in Blade: Trinity (no, it's not Matrix related).

Robert Rodriguez interview:
Mijn compadres van Latino Review hebben een geweldig gesprek gehad met Robert Rodriguez over zijn nieuwste film Once Upon A Time In Mexico. He sprak o.a. over Johnny Depp's performance:
"Johnny just brings, you know, the thing about Johnny I guess this would say it all, we'd be on the set and he'd do a scene and I would be constantly checking the script and it's like, 'is that the line in the script?' It is the line in the script, but just the way he would say it I didn't recognise my own words. He would just make everything sound like it was flowing out and then he would paraphrase things or change a line or paraphrase it to make it sound more like the character he was building up which he wanted to be much whimpier sort of character."
Rodriguez kon helaas Once Upon A Time In Mexico niet afronden na het schieten van alle scènes want hij moest eerst nog Spy Kids 3 maken. Once Upon A Time In Mexico werd dus pas anderhalf jaar later weer opgepakt: "It was wild. What was so cool about it though was that-I'm going to do that from now on 'cause it's so cool. It gives you a lot of distance from it, and you came back and the first thing I remembered is 'When did we shoot all this stuff?' I don't remember we shot it in seven weeks. Johnny Depp was on the set eight days that's how fast we shot this movie."

New Police Story:
Director Benny Chan sprak met Nanfang Daily over New Police Story: "It's a pretty simple story - like the other instalments - of good and bad. Nicholas Tse has been cast as a cop and Charlene Choi will play his girlfriend. The bad guys will be portrayed by Daniel Wu, Wang Chieh, Terence Yin and Andy On. The film will have little to no CGI effects, and be largely an hour and a half of hand to hand physical fights."
I can't wait to see this movie!
