Guillermo Del Toro talks Hellboy 2!:
Guillermo Del Toro, director of the incredible Hellboy and Blade II, answered some questions during an exclusive live webchat over at Empire Online. He talked about his previous films but also commented on a possible Hellboy trilogy:
"I would love to make Hellboy into a trilogy. Creatively, Mike Mignola and I know that we want to at least do that. Economically, it's the studio's decision. I love Hellboy. I always wish on every movie that I had a couple more million quid and a week or two more. But I love the damn movie. Mike Mignola feels the same way, and I am happy to report that he is delighted enough that we are writing the story for the sequel together."
The Mexican director also answered a funny question about who will win when Hellboy and Blade goes head to head:
"I don't know, but I think they would both end up with heavy amputations"
Hehe, click on the above link for the complete webchat, it's a good read so check it out.

Underworld 2 update:
Producer Tom Rosenberg gave IESB a status report on the sequel to Underworld. "I think the real intense followers of the whole saga will really, really love the second one. It’s very intricate. It gives Selene’s history, Viktor’s history and then of course now Marcus is going to come out of the crypt. So it’s really cool. I’m excited about it.
It’s much bigger action but still, we have to keep the coolness of it and not let the action overwhelm it. I like the whole world that’s created and you have to stay within that world. I don’t want to jam mindless nonstop action at the audience and this is going to still be story driven. But we’re going to have cool sequences and some bigger action, but if you do that on a sequel, and that’s what often happens, what’s the point? This story is better. This story is more intricate and more interesting. That’s what I really like about it."
Kate Beckingsale will repirse her role as the vampire warrior Selene, Underworld 2 will go into production in November.

Newsflash:
It's not official, could be false but I'm going to post it anyway, Millerworld posted the following: "Well, my same good buddy has informed me that, as of last Thursday night, Mister Jim Caviezel is officially the new man of steel and what a perfect choice he is. Expect an announcement shortly. Also, this Superman Returns thing was just for the press release. The movie itself is called SUPERMAN (Reeve's was called SUPERMAN THE MOVIE) and it's starting everything from scratch. Brainiac. Krypton. Robots. Alien super-cities. There's so much we can do now that they couldn't in 78. I cannot WAIT for this." See, I really think Jim Caviezel could pull it off, he's perfect for the role! I'll keep you posted.
A funny and better trailer for Dreamworks' Shark Tale is now online! The animated feature is voiced by Will Smith, Robert De Niro, Renee Zellweger, Angelina Jolie, Jack Black and Martin Scorsese.
Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson will star in the comedy Outsourced. "The project is about an American factory that is shut down and moved to Mexico, which prompts two men from the production line to venture south of the border to get their old jobs back." Source: Variety

Cruise talks MI3 and War of the Worlds:
Tom cruise talked a bit about Mission: Imppossible 3, his latest Ethan Hunt adventure, which was delayed because director Joe Carnahan left the project. While searching for a new director, Cruise checked out J.J. Abrams' Alias and liked what he did with the characters and story. Tom made a few calls, et voila, Abrams is now the new director of the movie. "It's deceiving, these kinds of movies," Cruise says about the challenge. "They're very complex. It's not just action, it's not just suspense, it's not just the spy genre - it's all of that."
So why Abrams? "He's the first guy I went through the movie with who absolutely clicked in terms of being able to discuss the intricacies of character and story and tone."
Tom Cruise also talked about The War of the Worlds remake, with Steven Spielberg attached as director. "It's going to be exciting, it's going to be really scary, and it's going to maintain the tone of H.G. Wells' book. These guys are coming to dominate Earth. But I can't get too much into it because David Koepp has already done a rewrite and Steven has been working on it and things are going to change. We're just in the dream stage. We haven't even cast it yet."

Chris Evans talks Fantastic Four!:
Chris Evans who's playing Johnny Storm in the upcoming Fantastic Four, revealed some interesting stuff about the film: "No, no, no. They're not going to do computer stuff with The Thing. Did you see Hellboy? It's that type of [costume]. I haven't even seen it yet. I am so excited to see it. So he's going to have the full body thing and I've heard it looks awesome. I was talking to the director's assistant the other day. He said you look at it and it looks real. You get close, you'll be like, 'It looks like rock.' I can't wait to see it. I'm so psyched.
The beauty is the Fantastic Four uniform is this form fitting blue outfit. So they make these really cool, blue almost like wetsuits, but since we all don't have the perfect bodies for these wetsuits, they gave us muscle suits. These little suits that you put on first that have rubber muscles that are actually form fitted to our bodies. They do these body casts and then they add muscle in certain places where it's needed. So you put on this muscle suit and then you put on this blue uniform and you just walk around like you're chiseled out of stone, so it's great. I'm happy."
Awesome, Fantastic Four also stars Michael Chiklis, Iaon Gruffudd, Jessica Alba and Julian McMahon. Tim Story (Barbershop) directs the film.

Chris Nolan talks Batman!!!:
The Telegraph got the chance to visit the set of Batman Begins and talked to the cast and crew. Director Chris Nolan wants to bring Batman back to its roots in a character drama with a gritty urban realism, delving into just how and why Bruce Wayne became Batman. "This Batman is grounded in reality," he explains, "He has no super-powers; all he has is his wealth, which he uses to obtain the technology he needs to do what he has to do. Batman is one of the great figures of pop culture, but there has to be a good reason for making this film. I wanted to make Batman more like a creature, more like a beast, than a human being. I didn't want him to be just a funny bloke in a fancy-dress costume. You're either going to look like a complete fool or you're going to look like a bad-ass. So you have to look like a bad-ass."
"This Batman remains in the shadows and is fuelled by a great deal of rage," adds Christian Bale, who plays the Caped Crusader himself, "He has tremendous anger. He's not a knight in shining armour, because of his personal need for revenge."
The story is written by David Goyer, the rest of the cast includes Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, Liam Neeson and Ken Watanabe.... I can't wait to see this flick!

Newsflash:
Director Charles Stone III (Mr. 3000) talked about the big screen adaptation of the videogame Tekken: "It will not be anything like Mortal Kombat or any of the Lara Croft movies. You will get the feeling of Bruce Lee's Enter The Dragon. I want the audience to get to know the characters, so when they have to battle each other it will be more dramatic. Both Jet Li and Jackie Chan have been loosely attached to the film but we're now thinking of starting clean. It will have plenty of 'A' list actors." Source: IESB

David Schimmer (Friends) will make his feature directorial debut on the independent romantic comedy Run, Fat Boy, Run. Schwimmer also directed a couple of Friends episodes. Source: The Hollywood Reporter
Busy man Brett Ratner will direct the gambling caper Breaking Vegas, with Kevin Spacey producing. Ratner has just finished After the Sunset, is now working on Josiah's Canon and also wants to make Rush Hour 3. Source: Variety
Aerosmith's Steven Tyler will be seen and heard in Robert Zemeckis' The Polar Express. Tyler will also appear on the movie's soundtrack. Source: Zap2it

Clerks 2?!:
It's official, Kevin Smith will direct the sequel to his independent classic from 1994, Clerks. The sequel picks up ten years later, "It's about what happens when that lazy, 20-something malaise lasts into your 30s," says Smith. "Those dudes are kind of still mired, not in that same exact situation, but in a place where it's time to actually grow up and do something more than just sit around and dissect pop culture and talk about sex. It's: What happened to these dudes?"

Cool Rush Hour 3 update:
Steven Seagal could be back, after making these horrible direct-to-video flicks, he might return to the big screen with Rush Hour 3! "Jackie and I have talked about Rush Hour 3," Seagal told The Sun, "I'd be playing the villain. We've long looked for something to work on together and this could be it. Jackie is someone I have admired for many years. I shudder to think who would win in the on-screen fights, but that'll keep it interesting for the viewer. I hope it happens. If the scripts good, then I'll definitely be interested."
Though his last few flicks are awful, I'm still a Seagal fan and really hope this is going to happen... but other websites report that they're having major budget problems so this could take a while.
