Jon Voight talks Ghost Rider!:
Jon Voight talked with Latino Review about
his role as the villain in the upcoming Ghost Rider film. Nicolas Cage will play the lead and Daredevil director Mark Steven Johnson will
helm the superhero flick.
"I haven't seen the final script yet, but if I can find a way into it I will be delighted to do that," Voight said. "We just have to see how the script turns out. Nic Cage is set. It's a very mysterious substance, that piece. It's a devil force that has enlisted this young man in his despair over losing his loved one. Then he finds that he's trapped in this aspect and then fights it. It's a very beautiful story really, beautiful love story as well."

Matt Damon's upcoming projects:
Matt Damon is ready for another Jason Bourne film! Here's a rundown of his upcoming projects:
The Bourne Ultimatum: Damon says he looks forward to kicking and punching his way through a third round - called "The Bourne Ultimatum" - if all the elements come together. "They [the studio] definitely want one now. It's a great place to be in, because now we can kind of just stick back and listen to people's different ideas on what the third one should be. And if there is a third one... I'm going to have to do it". Paul Greengrass is keen to helm the next chapter too, says Damon, which pleases him greatly. "He and I talked about it and he's open to the idea. The one fear with this movie [Supremacy] is that the director has such success that they get offered everything under the sun and want have time to come back and do the next sequel."
Ocean's Thirteen: Acting wise, we'll see Damon next in "Oceans Twelve", another sequel, this one a follow-up to "Oceans Eleven". "I really like those Oceans movies. I'm proud to be a part of them. I haven't seen it yet, but yeah, I like playing the guy who's kind of hiding in the corner". Damon says the cast - which also includes George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts - are keen to make a third "Oceans" movie. "I know all the actors would keep going with it. Carl Reiner said to me the other day 'Tell me if we're doing a third one, because I'll stay alive for it'", he laughs. "It's a lot of heavy lifting for Steven [Soderbergh, the director], but if he wants to do it, everyone will do it".
The Departed: "This film is one we're going to shoot in Boston next Summer, so I'm really excited about that. Scorsese hadn't even seen Infernal Affairs (original Hong Kong version) believe it or not, he knew what he needed from the screenplay and I don't think he wants it to affect his own thinking".

Tarantino on Kill Bill 3 and the Muppets?!!!:
Hi folks, looks like Tarantino talked about Kill Bill 3 again, but I don't think this is going to happen.
Check this out:
"So I'm sitting here thinking, "Fuck, if I could, I would," and I'd like to make it my DOLLARS TRILOGY, but I don't think it's a realistic possibility at this point, alright. If I did make it it would be years and years from now (like 14 or 15) and the plot would be about Vivica Fox's daughter seeking revenge on The Bride, after she killed her mother. It's cool because that scene where she kills her in front of the girl in KILL BILL seemed sort of open to expansion. But by then Uma would be a lot older. I'd be a lot older. It would have nothing to do with killing Bill. It could be called KILL BRIDE but that's fucking corny. By then I'll be lucky to still have a job, and nobody will give a rat's ass about KILL BILL anymore (or, if I'm lucky, it'll just be a fond memory. If I get the chance...fuck yeah I'd do it...but basically right now I've got my whole career for the next twenty years planned out.
I want to take my time with directorial projects. I don't want to be taking on two fucking movies a year like Spielberg did after he sold out, alright. That isn't me. I want to keep the same quality going so in the next twenty years I'll be lucky to make five or six movies. I want to go out in glory. KILL BILL 3 might be a good bookend to my directorial career but chances are slim that it would ever actually happen. Uma hasn't really shown interest (we talked briefly about it a few weeks ago). I think she's past that shit now and I don't blame her. I love KILL BILL but the question is...in 15 years will I still want to be making it? Will Uma? Will I wanna risk fucking up the first two? Hell no. So we'll see where this shit goes."
That's great, love the way he talks, especially about Spielberg! I've also got some other Tarantino news, he might be up for
a part in The Muppets' Wizard of Oz, how cool is that. Ashanti and Queen Latifah are in final to talks to join Tarantino.
Kirk R. Thatcher who directed the Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie will also helm the new
Muppet flick.

Anakin becomes Darth!!!:
Creature Shop Supervisor Dave Elsey talked about the make-up effects for Star Wars Episode III: The Revenge of the Sith!
The Official Star Wars Site had
an awesome chat with the effects meister and he talked about transforming Hayden Christensen into the gruesomely tragic Darth Vader.
Here's a clip:
"At the end of Return of the Jedi, when his helmet comes off and we see what he looks like, we've had to kind of do the earlier version of that and we've had to really research that," Elsey explains. "There are very few photographs of how everything actually looked." Anakin's injuries revealed in Episode VI have been extensively analyzed and documented by fans throughout the web, and Elsey was able to supplement what few pictures were available with in-depth fan analysis. "Fortunately the Internet is full of that sort of stuff and that helped us," he recalls. "The fans have actually helped us find the materials we needed because they've written endlessly about it."
"I'm a big fan of all the original trilogy makeup, but the appearance of Anakin's face at the end was very confusing because it didn't really look like he had been burned," Elsey says. "He had a kind of big gash down one side of his face and he had some kind of gash on the top of his head; but no real burns as far as I could see. Plus you really only see Anakin/Vader at the end of Return of the Jedi with the bottom half of his mask still on. We figured that all the real damage was under the chin."
"Basically we figured he's had loads of surgery and skin grafts and everything that you can possibly do to make him look as good as he does... which is not that good at the end of Return of the Jedi. That way we were able to go a lot rawer in Episode III," he says. "I've actually done a lot of work with burns so I wanted it to be really quite accurate," Elsey says. "In fact, even if you stylize the wounds a little bit, you still have to make them quite graphic in order to make it really look like a fresh burn, which is extremely difficult to accomplish in film like this."
"When I went back to George I asked, 'Look, how much can we get away with here? How nasty can we make it?' And he basically just said, 'Do what you have to,'" Elsey recalls. "This is some very dark imagery for a Star Wars film, probably making it the darkest Star Wars film out of all of them. So I'm also quite excited to see it because I think it's a really strong makeup that manages to blend everything together with what we saw before."

Memoirs of a Geisha update:
The Last Samurai's Ken Watanabe will join Memoirs of a Geisha, the rest
of the international cast includes Zhang Ziyi (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), Gong Li (Raise the Red Lantern), Michelle Yeoh (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), Youki Kudoh (Snow Falling on Cedars) and Koji Yakusho (Shall We Dance?).
The story revolves around Sayuri (Zhang Ziyi), a beautiful young orphan from a remote fishing village whose life changes forever when she is sent to the city to learn the ways of the geisha.
Steven Spielberg was attached to direct but will now produce the film, Chicago director Rob Marshall will helm the project.
"From the time I first read Arthur Golden's novel, I wanted to see this as a film," Spielberg said, "It's a uniquely compelling story rich with characters who take you into a world you have never experienced before, and there is no one better than Rob Marshall to bring all the poetry and artistry of Arthur Golden's novel to movie theaters all over the world."
