Garth van Dark Horizons heeft als eerste een geweldige Brad Pitt pic in Wolfgang Petersens epos Troy! De site vermeldt ook een mogelijk alternatieve titel voor de film, Trojan War: Troy. Volgende plaatje is van my man "The Rock" in de actie spektakel The Rundown. De film is gemaakt door Peter Berg en Seann William Scott (Stiffler) en Christopher Walken spelen ook mee. Scheherazade (say what?):
Michael Apted (Gorilla's in the Mist) gaat Scheherazade (gesundheit!) regisseren met een all star cast van o.a. Juliette Binoche, Gary Sinise, Samuel Ball and Morpheus himself Laurence Fishburne. Het verhaal gaat als volgt: "An unfaithful wife (Binoche) of a mobster is kidnapped by his henchmen and must talk her way to freedom.

Paul Schrader fired!:
It's official, Morgan Creek Productions waren niet blij met een roughcut van Exorcist: The Beginning en hebben simpelweg regisseur Paul Schrader ontslagen. Ze wilden meer gore scènes en Schrader ging meer richting een psychologische thriller (what's wrong with that?). Co-writer Caleb Carr heeft meer te vertellen: "The problem with Paul's cut of the movie is it does not deliver the psychological fear we were looking for...It does have some good dramatic elements which can be rearranged with some good shooting into a very good movie."
Jammer, waarschijnlijk gaan ze wat nieuwe scènes opnemen en de film re-editen. Bring on the vomit...

Daryl Hannah talks Kill Bill:
Latino Review heeft meer info over de nieuwe Tarantino film. Daryl Hannah vertelde namelijk iets meer over deze actie spektakel in de stijl van de oude Chinese vecht- en Japanse samuraifilms. Hannah legt uit waarom de film in twee delen wordt uitgebracht: "I think that it is the only thing to do because this script was that big [puts her fingers into a three inch position.] It was a phone book, it was. It was the size of a telephone book and he added stuff while we were shooting. It's his Magnum Opus. It is. It's what he calls it. And it's all the genres that he is obsessed with, it's Japanese anime, spaghetti western, and kung-fu all combined into one."

And the Batman is...:
Niet Bruce Wayne maar Engelse acteur Hugh Darcy zal waarschijnlijk de rol van de caped crusader vertolken volgens Dark Horizons en IGN Film Force. The Unofficial Christopher Nolan Site heeft zelfs een informant die vertelde dat de deal "Signed, Sealed and Delivered" is! Ik verwacht meer Batman nieuws binnen enkele dagen, I'll keep you posted.

Ridley Scott talks about Alien and confirms Gladiator 2?:
Latino review sprak met Ridley Scott over de re-release van Alien en een vervolg op Gladiator. Alien wordt later dit jaar opnieuw in de bioscopen vertoond en Ridley heeft een aantal nieuwe scenes toegevoegd:
"Yeah, there are some scenes that we took out earlier because the dynamics were correct, at the end of the movie the thing is really flying and we put this scene in but it kept coming to a halt. But it was a pretty good scene.
It's a scene lovingly called "THE NEST." Which is what happens when the bodies… Brett [Harry Dean Stanton], Dallas [Tom Skerritt] was taken, there in…and she [Sigourney Weaver] finds them, so there's that, and its pretty ugh!! It's pretty bad. And one of them is still alive.
Ridley Scott bevestigde ook dat hij Gladiator 2 gaat maken, waarschijnlijk in 2005!

The Matrix Reloaded - Summer Champ 2003:
Het film zomerseizoen is bijna voorbij en de box office resultaten komen langzaam binnen. Eén ding is zeker, The Matrix Reloaded is de grote winnaar volgens Variety:
"Warner Bros. Pictures' The Matrix Reloaded has grossed $730 million in worldwide box office to date, making it the highest-grossing film of 2003 and the highest-grossing R-rated film in history. "Reloaded" has earned $450 million internationally and $280 million domestically to date. The sequel, currently the 12th highest grossing film worldwide, is the first movie in history to surpass $100 million in a single weekend internationally. In the U.S. the film had the largest single week ever ($158.2 million), reaching $150 million in a record-breaking six days."

U.S. Box Office August 22-24:
De horror giganten Freddy en Jason hakken er voor de tweede week vrolijk op los. Piraten, cowboys en zelfs Jackie Chan's vechtkunst hadden geen effect op de twee Killers. Jackie Chan's The Medallion kwam wel binnen op de vijfde plaats ondanks de slechte recensies.

Peter Jackson talks King Kong:
Lord of the Rings regisseur Peter Jackson sprak met USA today over zijn volgende project, de remake van King Kong: "Richard Taylor's (Jackson's collaborator) department has invested four months into designing clay models of apes and dinosaurs for the Christmas 2005 release. The remake will take place during the same '30s era as the original, but no definitive word yet on whether the monster gorilla will be a totally digital creature."
With Jackson still focused on the trilogy, "We actually haven't had one single meeting yet about how we will technically achieve what is ahead of us," Taylor says."

Catwoman Info:
Superhero Hype heeft een paar interessante Catwoman geheimpjes: "This ain't the Catwoman/Selina Kyle as played by Michelle Pfeiffer in 1992's Batman Returns. That is clear now. Our sources are telling us that Catwoman will likely have some extra powers that you haven't seen before. The superhero may have eyes that actually change into cat eyes and she'll be able to jump further than before! And while they probably won't be revealed for a while, Halle Berry is said to be donning two different Catwoman costumes in the film..."

Wow, deze trailer moet je zien! Highwaymen is geregisseerd door Robert Harmon (The Hitcher) en James Caviezel (Frequency) speelt de hoofdrol: "Rennie Cray (Caviezel) embarks on a bloodthirsty rampage to avenge the death of his wife who was struck down by a serial killer - a man who hunts and kills women using his '72 El Dorado."
