Newsflash:
Hi guys, eindelijk weer een leuke week met cool filmnieuws! Ik ben in het weekend weer terug met een nieuwe update:

Dustin Hoffman speelt naast Natalie Portman in Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium. Hoffman is een eigenaar van een toy shop die besluit om de winkel over te dragen aan een depressieve vrouw (Portman). Source: Variety
Anthony Hopkins speelt de hoofdrol in de dramafilm met een politiek tintje, Bobby. Het verhaal speelt zich af in de nacht dat Robert F. Kennedy wordt dood geschoten in het Ambassador Hotel in 1968. The one and only Emilio Estevez schreef het script en zal de film ook regisseren, Hopkins neemt de taak van producer voor zijn rekening. Source: Variety

Newsflash:
Dreamworks says "yes" to Old School 2! Todd Phillips en Scot Armstrong gaan het script schrijven en Phillips zal ook het vervolg regisseren. Will "Frank the Tank" Ferrell, Vince Vaughn en Luke Wilson schitterden in het eerste deel, het is nog niet zeker of ze allemaal in het vervolg te zien zijn. Source: Variety

Chan-Wook Park talks future projects!:
Old Boy is een van mijn favoriete films en ik kijk uit naar nieuwe meesterwerken van deze Zuid-Koreaanse regisseur. Binnenkort komt Chan-Wook Park met een
nieuwe revenge film, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance en daarna begint hij aan twee nieuwe projecten. Check this out:
"The script for Lady Vengeance was completed very quickly, if not as quickly as that of Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance. Now, I am working on two scripts at the same time. But it is natural that I have more energy and passion than when I was making my first few films. Kids practice the piano more fiercely or draw paintings more energetically when they are praised. I am like that. Don't all artists have some childlike aspects?
One of my next projects is about a delusional girl who thinks she is a combat cyborg and is hospitalized in a mental institution. She falls in love with a boy she meets there. It is a teen romantic comedy with a lot of fantasy scenes. Other than that, I am working on a vampire movie. About English language movies, my present thought is, it's not that I've decided not to make one someday, but I have no plans to do so just now."

Willis joins Berry:
Bruce Willis gaat tegenover Halle Berry spelen in de psychologische thriller Perfect Stranger.
De film speelt zich af in de wereld van internet waarin Halle Berry on en offline undercover gaat om een moord
op te lossen. Bruce Willis speelt een verdachte in de zaak en James Foley (The Corruptor) verzorgt de regie.

Awesome, Steve Carell's first big hit! The 40-Year-Old Virgin kwam op de eerste plaats binnen
afgelopen weekend en verdiende 20 miljoen dollars.

Hi there, it's weekend! Laten we meteen beginnen met een overzicht van het laatste filmnieuws, veel plezier:
Regisseur Harold Becker en Al Pacino brachten ons eerder de geweldige Sea of Love en City Hall. Becker en Pacino join forces again met een remake van de Franse heist flick uit 1955 Rififi! Later dit jaar gaat Pacino ook de hoofdrol spelen in een Napoleon film. Producer Barry Navidi vertelt het volgende: "It's going to concentrate on the last few years of Napoleon's life in exile. We've based it on the diaries of British teenager Betsy Balcombe, who struck up a relationship with Napoleon when he was living on St. Helena, and with whom he subsequently became infatuated." Superman Returns update:
My God, een nieuwe Superman Returns video journal is weer online met als onderwerp Bryan Singer's trip naar de Comic Convention in San Diego. De clip
laat indrukwekkende beelden zien dat vertoond werd tijdens de conventie. Klik op de pic om het te downloaden.
Ander Man of Steel nieuws, composer/editor John Ottman sprak met Superman Homepage over de filmmuziek. Ottman zal
alleen John Williams main theme verwerken in zijn filmscore. Williams andere themes worden niet gebruikt: "We tried out the Lois Lane theme (Can you read my mind), and, don't get me wrong, its a GREAT theme, but the feel of that theme over this contemporary film, it's gagging, and it's awful. It just seemed stupid. So I'm hoping that we don't have to do that. Just for the moment we're actualy temping with (the score from) 'Solaris'. It works really well, and more of it's kind of modern, so the film can go with it. Its important that the film goes somewhere without trying too hard to pay homage to the past. So to answer your question, besides the fanfare, the score will be original."

Patrick Stewart talks X-Men 3:
Patrick "Professor Xavier" Stewart sprak over X-Men 3 dat op dit moment geschoten wordt.
"It's wonderful," vertelde Stewart, "Already some amazing things have been put in the can, some surprises, including one surprise which will never even appear in a script form. We've just shot it. It's so secret, that there was never, ever allowed anything to be on paper about it.
I think Brett Ratner is going to do a fantastic job on this movie. He's an extraordinary, gifted man, and I think the perfect choice to direct X3. We miss Bryan Singer, of course, because this is the man that launched this franchise so outstandingly."
