Alias bedenker J.J. Abrams vertelde meer over Mission: Impossible 3. De film
wordt zijn regiedebuut en het lijkt erop dat die er helemaal klaar voor is:
Since Frank Darabont wrote the Mission: Impossible 3 script, are you going to do a pass on it?
We're still figuring out what the next step is going to be. He's one of my favorite writers and did unbelievable work on the script.
Cruise wants every film to have a different look. How will you go about that?
It's in the very early stages. We're just figuring out what the next step is going to be. I could not be more excited. Working on that series is a dream for me.
Are you disappointed that Cruise is doing War of the Worlds first?
Oh no. It allows me to fulfill my obligations on Alias and Lost. I have another pilot that I'm shooting in October, so.
Are you nervous about your film debut?
I'm excited. I am so excited. I've been waiting for a long time to find something to direct and it felt like the right thing. I've been lucky enough to be offered a couple things, but this is the first time that I just cannot wait to get going. I'm so excited.
Was Alias good preparation for M:I3?
Alias has been in some ways good preparation for what that will be and I have to say that to some degree, I owe Buena Vista Home Entertainment this job because I'd had a meeting with Mr. Cruise and I gave him the Alias DVDs. He'd never seen the show. And I thought, "He'll never watch it." And I got a call a couple months later that he had watched every episode and that was the beginning of the discussions. So if it hadn't been for the DVDs, I definitely wouldn't have the job, so thanks again.

The War of the Worlds most expensive film ever?:

Newsflash:
Het is een beetje rustig op het web, guys, geen grote headlines maar wel een paar interessante roddels. Er wordt gespeculeerd
dat Star Wars 7-9 gemaakt gaat worden maar neem dit met een korreltje zout. Het schijnt dat
een gedeelte van de Smallville cast, inclusief Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor) ook zal spelen in
de Superman film maar andere bronnen vermelden weer dat men nog steeds niet de acteur heeft
gevonden die de "blue tights" moet dragen.
Anyway, ik heb wel een paar andere nieuwsfeitjes gevonden voor de newsflash van vandaag, veel plezier:
 De trailer van Wes Anderson's komedie The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou met Bill Murray en Owen Wilson is nu online. De film gaat over de avonturen van de oceaan deskundige Steve Zissou (Bill Murray).
Nicholas Turturro zal een rol spelen in The Longest Yard. De rest van de cast bestaat uit Adam Sandler, Burt Reynolds en Chris Rock. Source: The Hollywood Reporter
Een geweldige script review van Jurassic Park 4 is verschenen op de site van AICN. Dit zou wel wat kunnen worden, denk aan Dino's die de wereld overnemen.
New Line is aan het onderhandelen met regisseur Sam Raimi (Spider-Man) over Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash. Het is nog niet bekend of hij gaat regisseren of produceren. Raimi is de bedenker van Ash uit de Evil Dead films. Source: The Hollywood Reporter

Newsflash:
Hong Kong regisseur John Woo gaat weer een chinese film maken. The War of the Red Cliff zal met een budget van $36 miljoen de duurste Chinese film ooit worden. The War of the Red Cliff is gebaseerd op historische gebeurtenissen dat 1700 jaar geleden plaats vond. Chow-yun Fat wordt benaderd voor de hoofdrol.
Check out Robin Williams, Mira Sorvino en Jim Caviezel in the trailer van The Final Cut. De sci-fi thriller speelt zich af in een wereld waar mensen een speciale chip dragen dat hun leven registreert.
De internationale trailer van Resident Evil: Apocalypse, met in de hoofdrol Milla Jovovich, is nu online.

U.S. Box Office Aug 13-15:
AVP heeft zijn concurrentie afgeslacht en kwam zelf op de eerste plaats binnen met $38 miljoen!
Dit zal ongetwijfeld deuren openen voor een vervolg en hopelijk ook een paar Alien en Predator films. Andere grote
verassing was Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Movie dat toch nog op nummer 4 wist binnen te komen.
De strijd gaat deze week verder, dan gaan Exorcist: The Beginning, Hero,
Open Water, Without a Paddle in première. Mijn voorspelling is dat AVP
voorlopig nog wel op nummer 1 zal staan.

Jet Li talks Danny the Dog:
Ik heb enkele weken geleden de trailer van Danny the Dog gezien en ik moet toegeven dat deze film
niet een standaard chop-socky vechtfilm is. Danny the Dog is een echte drama gecombineerd
met martial arts. Jet Li sprak met Latino Review
over de film:
"It’s also a totally different kind of martial arts film. My character, mentally is only ten years old. He’s physically very strong, tough. He beat up ten people in a few seconds, but mentally he’s like a dog. Morgan Freeman plays this character, piano tuner. He bring me back, become normal human, to understand what is love, what is friendship. At the end of the movie I become normal guy. He’s not a people that became a master, or save the city, or became a tough man, hero. It’s a different kind of genre."
De rest van de cast bestaat uit Morgan Freeman, Bob Hoskins en Luc Besson heeft de film geproduceerd.

Newsflash:
Een geweldige clip uit Blade: Trinity is nu online. Klik hier om Jessica Biel in actie te zien. David Goyer's Blade: Trinity is de derde film over de Daywalker, die vertolkt wordt door Wesley Snipes. Deze keer moet hij het opnemen tegen Dracula himself.
Toffe set pic van Batman Begins is online. Klik hier en zie Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) een babbeltje maken met Gordon (Gary Oldman) en let op de geweldige batsuit!
Hehe, mooie tagline "He's Armed but She's Dangerous", te zien op de nieuwe poster van Taxi met in de hoofdrollen Queen Latifah en Jimmy Fallon. Klik op de poster voor een grote versie.
