Newsflash:
 Bruno Kirby, de geweldige sidekick in City Slickers, When Harry Met Sally en Good Morning, Vietnam, is afgelopen maandag overleden. Kirby, 57, leed aan leukemie. My condolences go out to his family, friends and fans from around the globe.
Michael Madsen, Vinnie Jones en Richard Chamberlain spelen de hoofdrollen in de Ierse film Strength and Honor. Check this out, Madsen speelt een ex-bokser die geforceerd wordt om weer in de ring te stappen zodat hij geld kan verdienen om zijn ziek zoontje te kunnen redden. Jones speelt de gevaarlijke rivaal en Chamberlain is Madsen's coach. Source: Production Weekly

Newsflash:
Ik heb een rare maar wel coole roddel vandaag, volgens de Beijing Star Daily gaat Peter Jackson de Jackie Chan/Jet Li film regisseren. De krant vermeldt ook dat Jet Li $9 miljoen krijgt om de rol van slechterik te spelen. Well, Peter Jackson die een martial arts spektakel regisseert... da's te mooi om waar te zijn.
Morgan Creek heeft Jeff Sank en broertjes Jason en Justin Heimberg ingehuurd om het script voor een derde Ace Ventura film te schrijven. Het verhaal richt zich op de zoon van de pet detective, dus dat betekent een film zonder Jim Carrey, hmmm...

Man, I love that little teaser trailer about these dancin' penguins. The official website is nu online, klik op de pic voor de trailer en andere goodies. George Miller regisseert de computeranimatiefilm en de cast bestaat uit Elijah Wood, Robin Williams, Brittany Murphy, Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman en Agent Smith himself, Hugo Weaving.

Will Ferrell's Talladega Nights staat voor de tweede week op de eerste plaats maar werd
op de hielen gezeten door de dansfilm Step Up, dat een onverwacht sterke eerste indruk maakt.

Abrams talks Star Trek:
Interessant nieuws voor de trekkies, Lost bedenker en M:I:III regisseur J.J. Abrams sprak over de nieuwe Star Trek film.
Abrams gaat de film in ieder geval produceren en heel misschien verzorgt hij ook de regie. De geruchten vermelden dat het verhaal focust op Kirk and Spock's early days, maar Abrams laat absoluut niets los over het verhaal;
"I think we have an incredible story, but we've sort of promised each other we wouldn't talk about the specifics yet. But I can say that we're actively working on it, we're in the middle of breaking the story, and it's coming along great. I'd be happy to start sooner than Paramount thinks, but not a moment before it's ready. We have an incredible beginning of a really dramatic story, and it very much honors the canon of Star Trek. On the other hand, it won't be like anything you've seen before."

Del Toro talks Hellboy II:
Regisseur Guillermo del Toro geeft een Hellboy 2 update! Hij legt uit waarom de sequel beter zal zijn dan het eerste deel en
onthult who will be back... and who won't:
"Well, I think that one of the drags for me on the first movie was having to introduce the characters. I believe that you can deal more with character situations and have more fun with those things on a second movie, more so than you can on a first one. So that freedom and the banter among the characters, I think, is better. And the world is completely different. The first one was dealing with a much more urban environment and the second one is more in a mythical type of environment, more magical. So hopefully it's closer to some of the aspects of the comic book that we couldn't portray in the first one.
We definitely have all the regulars - Hellboy, Abe Sapien and Liz Sherman are back. But not coming back is John Myers. Kroenen is back in a very small sort of cameo appearance.
We won't start shooting until late April or early May at the worst, but we have a long prep ahead of us. we're going to shoot this one in Budapest, in Hungary and we're going to shoot a little bit in London and we're going to do pre-production and post-production in London."
