Alexander the Great update:
The Z Review posted an update on the upcoming Oliver Stone epic Alexander. Here's what second unit director Dale Dye had to say:
"Alexander is a huge, sweeping prehistorical spectacle almost....We're going to try to examine what made Alexander 'the Great'. Oliver has written an extraordinary script, probably the best writing I've seen him do since Platoon....I think it's going to be, from a military standpoint, it's going to be a look at how brilliantly he used what we would consider primitive technology and what an extraordinary tactician he was. We're going to look at why people loved him, why they were following him for the years and years it took for him to campaign and virtually conquer the known world".
Dale Dye also talked about the other Alexander movie that's being made by Baz Luhrmann:
"I tell you, I don't know much about it. I think they would go a long, long, long way to come up with a script that's anywhere near as insightful, as brilliant as Oliver's. I think they may take a look at what we bring out because they have cancelled now and decided that they're going to delay on it into the next year. They may get a hint of what's going on and might just move on to greener pastures".
Yeehahh, I also prefer Oliver Stone's version! I can't wait!

No Chevy Chase this time but Smith was thinking about Ben Affleck, Brad Pitt, Adam Sandler or Jason Lee. The other project is a sci-fi called Ranger Danger and The Danger Rangers that will be made in the style of the old Flash Gordon adventures.

T4 Update:
Another Terminator 4 update by producer Mario Kassar: "T4 is in the works. The screenplay will be ready in 8 or 9 months. Once we have that, we will proceed with the production. The question that has never been answered in all the Terminator films is time travel. You can come from the future to change the present. But we never see how they go back to the future, which is a subject that can be explored. I think you already know where T4 is going from the ending of T3."
When asked if Schwarzenegger is still interested in doing T4 now he's making a career move into politics, Kassar answered:"It depends on what he's doing in life. If he wants to do politics, he'll do politics. Then we'll have to figure out a way to do it without him. But he has expressed interest in doing T4."
Terminator 3 is expecting to cross $200 million (internationally) next weekend.

Darabont talks Indy IV!:
Writer/director Frank Darabont (The Green Mile) talked to the Almeda Times-Star about writing the script for Indiana Jones IV: "I absolutely don't want to do things like having him say, 'I'm getting to old for this shit'. I don't want to be slipping and sliding in cliches. This character is no longer in the 1930s. He has to age honestly. He's got to be in the 1950s.
Let's face it, what's not to like about Indiana Jones. I saw the first movie in 1981, five years before I started my writing career. Who knew I would grow up to write the sequel."
Trust me, this project is in good hands and I can't wait!

Akira Update:
Blade and LXG director Stephen Norrington deciced not the remake the manga masterpiece Akira: "I have dropped out of all my Hollywood development deals because I want to pursue more creative avenues."
That's too bad, Norrington would be perfect for the job, I wonder who'll replace him.

Spider-man 2 Budget:
The Wallstreet Journal mentioned the budget of Spider-man 2 and man, it's huge: "Nonetheless, the budget of next year's 'Spider-Man' sequel is said to be approaching $200 million or more. Amy Pascal, chairwoman of Columbia Pictures, says only that it is 25% more than the first movie, which cost $150 million. But Sony Corp. of America Chairman and Chief Executive Howard Stringer says the studio is willing to spend what it takes to preserve its most precious properties. "This one has got to be right," he says, "You cannot squander the franchise."
