Alexander the Great update:
The Z Review heeft een update geplaatst over Oliver Stone's Alexander. Second unit director Dale Dye heeft het volgende te vertellen:
"Alexander is a huge, sweeping prehistorical spectacle almost....We're going to try to examine what made Alexander 'the Great'. Oliver has written an extraordinary script, probably the best writing I've seen him do since Platoon....I think it's going to be, from a military standpoint, it's going to be a look at how brilliantly he used what we would consider primitive technology and what an extraordinary tactician he was. We're going to look at why people loved him, why they were following him for the years and years it took for him to campaign and virtually conquer the known world".
Dale Dye sprak over de andere Alexander de Grote film die gemaakt wordt door Baz Luhrmann:
"I tell you, I don't know much about it. I think they would go a long, long, long way to come up with a script that's anywhere near as insightful, as brilliant as Oliver's. I think they may take a look at what we bring out because they have cancelled now and decided that they're going to delay on it into the next year. They may get a hint of what's going on and might just move on to greener pastures".
Yeehahh, ik wil ook liever de Oliver Stone versie zien!

Coming Soon heeft een paar mooie pics van Peter Pan. Check out het plaatje hieronder en click hier om meer te zien. De live action versie is geregisseerd door P.J. Hogan met in de hoofdrollen Jason Isaacs en Ralph Fiennes. Peter Pan zal deze winter in de bioscopen te zien zijn.

Kevin Smith Projects:
Regisseur Kevin Smith (Chasing Amy) gaat werken aan twee nieuwe projecten. Fletch One wordt zijn versie van the reporter die eerder is gespeeld door Chevy Chase in Fletch en Fletch Lives. Chevy Chase zal dit keer niet mee doen maar Smith dacht aan Ben Affleck, Brad Pitt, Adam Sandler of Jason Lee die eerder heeft samengewerkt met Kevin Smith. Een ander project is Ranger Danger and The Danger Rangers dat een science fiction film moet worden in de stijl van de oude Flash Gordon adventures.

The Missing Poster:
Een mooie poster van The Missing is on line. Deze thriller van Ron Howard gaat over een moeder gespeeld door Kate Blanchett die in haar eentje twee dochters moet opvoeden. De oudste dochter wordt ontvoerd door een psychopatische killer met bovennatuurlijke krachten. De moeder krijgt de hulp van haar vader (Tommy Lee Jones) om het meisje te vinden. The Missing verschijnt eind dit jaar in de Amerikaanse bioscopen. Click op het plaatje om de poster te zien.

T4 Update:
Ik heb weer een Terminator 4 update, deze keer vertelde producer Mario Kassar iets meer over het vierde deel: "T4 is in the works. The screenplay will be ready in 8 or 9 months. Once we have that, we will proceed with the production. The question that has never been answered in all the Terminator films is time travel. You can come from the future to change the present. But we never see how they go back to the future, which is a subject that can be explored. I think you already know where T4 is going from the ending of T3."
When asked if Schwarzenegger is still interested in doing T4 now he's making a career move into politics, Kassar answered:"It depends on what he's doing in life. If he wants to do politics, he'll do politics. Then we'll have to figure out a way to do it without him. But he has expressed interest in doing T4."
Terminator 3 zal waarschijnlijk aankomend weekend internationaal gezien de $200 miljoen grens passeren!

Darabont talks Indy IV!:
Writer/director Frank Darabont (The Green Mile) sprak met de Almeda Times-Star over het schrijven van het script voor Indiana Jones IV: "I absolutely don't want to do things like having him say, 'I'm getting to old for this shit'. I don't want to be slipping and sliding in cliches. This character is no longer in the 1930s. He has to age honestly. He's got to be in the 1950s.
Let's face it, what's not to like about Indiana Jones. I saw the first movie in 1981, five years before I started my writing career. Who knew I would grow up to write the sequel."
Geloof me, dit project is in goede handen, ik kan niet wachten!

U.S. Box Office August 8-10:
S.W.A.T kwam heel makkelijk de top tien binnen en veroverde even de eerste plaats met $33 miljoen! Jamie Lee Curtis deed het ook prima op de tweede plaats met de comedy Freaky Friday. The Pirates blijft het goed doen op de vierde plaats en heeft inmiddels al de $200 miljoen grens overschreden.

Gregory Hines passes away:
De geweldige acteur en tapdancer Gregory Hines is afgelopen weekend overleden. Zijn eerste rol was in History of the World, Part I en heeft hij ook met Billy Crystal gespeeld in de fantastische comedy Running Scared. Gregory Hines is 57 geworden.

First look at Garfield:
AICN heeft als eerste een foto van Garfield geplaatst. Garfield wordt in de film door computer animatie tot leven gewekt, zijn stem wordt verzorgd door Bill Murray dus ik denk wel dat het iets leuk kan worden. Wat vind jij van de pic? Lijkt die een beetje op de kater, laat het me weten!

Akira Update:
Blade en LXG regisseur Stephen Norrington heeft besloten om de remake van de manga masterpiece Akira te verlaten: "I have dropped out of all my Hollywood development deals because I want to pursue more creative avenues."
Da's jammer, Norrington had er iets moois van kunnen maken. Ik ben nu wel erg benieuwd wie hem gaat vervangen.

Spider-man 2 Budget:
Een artikel in The Wallstreet Journal vertelt iets over het budget van Spider-man 2 and man, it's huge: "Nonetheless, the budget of next year's 'Spider-Man' sequel is said to be approaching $200 million or more. Amy Pascal, chairwoman of Columbia Pictures, says only that it is 25% more than the first movie, which cost $150 million. But Sony Corp. of America Chairman and Chief Executive Howard Stringer says the studio is willing to spend what it takes to preserve its most precious properties. "This one has got to be right," he says, "You cannot squander the franchise."
