Newsflash:
 Ralph Fiennes (Red Dragon) zal de evil Lord Voldemort spelen in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. De vierde Potter film wordt geregisseerd door Mike Newell (Mona Lisa Smile).
Regisseur Stephen Sommers (Van Helsing) gaat een Flash Gordon film maken volgens Variety! De film is gebaseerd op de populaire comics van de jaren 30 dat later nog een TV serie kreeg en een film.
Een exclusieve vechtscène uit Alien vs. Predator is nu online op de site van Yahoo movies, ziet er behoorlijk strak uit.
Check this out, Superman V vermeldt dat regisseur Bryan Singer de rol van Superman heeft aangeboden aan Smallville ster Tom Welling!!! Volgens verschillende bronnen zal het om een two-picture-deal gaan en Tom Welling heeft twee tot drie weken de tijd om te reageren. Ik denk dat Welling een goede keus is maar nu McG het project heeft verlaten en het verhaal dus niet over het ontstaan van Superman gaat, zie ik liever een oudere acteur zoals Jim Caviezel de rode cape dragen.
Mooie nieuwe Blade Trinity foto's zijn nu online! David Goyer regisseert de derde Daywalker film en de cast bestaat uit Wesley Snipes, Kris Kristofferson, Ryan Reynolds en Jessica Biel. Klik op de pic voor meer.

Tom Cruise talks Collateral:
Tommy Boy vertelde meer over zijn nieuwste actie-thriller Collateral. De film is geregisseerd door
Michael "Heat" Mann en de rest van de cast bestaat uit Jada Pinkett Smith en Jamie Foxx. Cruise speelt een huurmoordenaar
in de film:
"It was different. I always look for a challenge and something that's different. This definitely had every element and promise of being that. It was. I wanted to work with Michael Mann and these guys: Jada and Jamie. It was very challenging, really challenging. The ambition Michael had for this picture… you know, when Michael sent the script he sent different stills, almost an art motif of things he was thinking about, and what he wanted to explore. It was just something else because his vision of LA and what he sees has real emotion, has real poetry. I knew it was going to be a lot of fun and it was."
Cruise heeft met veel bewondering samengewerkt met tegenspeler Jamie Foxx:
"I'm going to answer one first. Here's the thing about the kind of talent Jamie has: talent is talent. You look at Foxx. You talk about him as a standup comedian. Before that, he's a classically trained musician. He's a singer. He's a songwriter. You should hear his music. His ability at comedy to create characters and have insight into people and, he makes jokes about it, but it's also about something and it shows the unique insight into people. And you see that he's a comedic actor. And it's not just that he's played dramatic roles before this. He's carrying the movie here with Collateral. It's a very difficult role. I think talent is talent. Michael Mann, as a filmmaker, was smart enough to put the three of us together in the movie. One of my favorite scenes in the movie was with Jada and Jamie. That scene captures two people meeting each other. That is the high bar. It is such a difficult thing to accomplish."

Guillermo del Toro talks Hellboy 2 and Blade:
Ik heb enkele dagen geleden de regio 1 Hellboy DVD gezien (de film zal pas later dit jaar in Nederland
uitkomen) en ik was erg onder de indruk. De visuals, het verhaal en natuurlijk Ron Perlman als Hellboy, erg gaaf!
Ik was dan ook aangenaam verast om te horen dat regisseur Guillermo del Toro plannen maakt voor een vervolg:
"I start writing it in the Fall and then it’ll depend on how fast we get a script we’re all happy about and how fast we can work out a budget and a date. It’s in the future, but I wouldn’t put a date on it. In the next Hellboy adventure he’ll (Hyde-Pierce’s Abe Sapien) have a more prominent role. She’ll be back (Blair). Jeffrey Tambor will be back. We will have a good class of weirdos around."
De Mexicaanse regisseur gaat ook nog een Hellboy director's cut DVD uitbrengen:
"I cut out things that I thought were slowing the pace of the movie, but I’ve put them back into what I call the ‘Directors Cut’, which will be released in France and possibly Japan, theatrically. It’s a more sedate thing, but it adds a more interesting direction for the characters. A little more weight for the bad guys too. Which I think is very good for the movie."
Guillermo del Toro was ook verantwoordelijk voor de regie van Blade 2. Hij heeft een
roughcut van de derde Blade film gezien dat regisseerd wordt door David Goyer:
"I’ve seen the whole movie and I enjoyed the hell out of it. The thing I love the most about it is that its different, each of the Blade movies has been different to the others. [Director, David] Goyer has a very sardonic, very brutal sense of humour and it’s a different movie. I think it’s going to be quite a trip for the audience.
I would love to go back and do a fourth ballistic Blade – vampires all over the world – but who the hell knows."

Brittany Murphy talks Sin City:
Brittany Murphy is net klaar met de opnamen voor Robert Rodriguez' Sin City, ze sprak met Scifi Wire
over de film dat gebaseerd is op de comics van Frank Miller:
"It's not three separate films, but three vignettes, three stories. I open up The Big Fat Kill.
It's written in a wonderful Howard Hawks sort of noir-esque manner, so that many decades sort of mix together. It's shot in black and white, with some splashes of color. There's a lot of green-screen work that we did. I was in a scene with Bruce Willis and Mickey Rourke, and I've never met Bruce Willis in my life. I did it on a green scene! But I worked with Benicio Del Toro, who's playing Jackie Boy, and Clive Owen's playing Dwight. I worked with both of them."
Sin City wordt volgend jaar uitgebracht.

Geoffrey Rush talks Pirates of the Caribbean:
Geoffrey Rush vertelde Aussie's Empire magazine dat hij absoluut weer terug is in de Pirates of the Caribbean sequels:
"They are definitely doing a sequel, which I'm very happy to be a part of, because Ted Elliot and Terry Rossio (writers)and Jerry Bruckheimer all know that just with the character of Jack Sparrow as played by Johnny Depp, they've discovered a cinematic piece of history. This is a highly original character who could go anywhere.
I think they want to make 'The Godfather Part II', and they have the chance to do that. I'd like to see 'Jack Sparrow im love!' I actually suggested to them, 'Cant we fight over the same girl, like Bing Crosby and Bob Hope used to do in the 'Road to' Movies?' And then I'd get the girl with Jack going,'Damn!' I think that would be very funny. But we'll see."

U.S. Box Office Jul 30 - Aug 01:
M. Night Shayamalan's nieuwste thriller The Village eiste alle aandacht van de Amerikaanse
Box Office en bracht 50 million bucks op! Matt Damon's The Bourne Supremacy doet het ook
nog steeds prima met een tweede plaats. Nieuwkomer The Manchurian Candidate met in de hoofdrol
Denzel Washington kwam binnen op een derde plaats. Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle en Thunderbirds
hebben het een stuk minder gedaan, de laatste kwam maar liefst op nummer twaalf binnen!

Trin talks MI3!!!:
Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix) sprak met About.com
over Mission:Impossible 3. Ze wist helaas niet wie regisseur Joe Carnahan gaat vervangen, vorige week
verliet hij de set omdat zijn visie van de film botste met die van Tom Cruise. Carrie-Anne kon het wel goed met
hem vinden, ze vertelde het volgende:
How surprising was it when he left?
It was surprising, but things happen. Nothing is really that surprising in Hollywood I think. Just like in any job, I guess.
Do you have a new director yet, maybe J.J. Abrams?
Not that I’ve heard of, so I haven’t heard and just trusting that they will find somebody great.
Did you have any trepidations taking part in another franchise?
Not really. I had said after The Matrix that I would never make an action film again. And then I got offered Mission: Impossible and I just had to say yes. It just felt like the right thing to do, so I think things sort of come your way and you make your choices. It’s very different than Trinity, so I can’t say that I did. I might’ve had a few moments where I was like, “What am I doing, doing another action film?” But life is interesting. Never say never.

Newsflash:
Kerry Conran (Sky Captain and the world of Tomorrow) gaat waarschijnlijk A Princess of Mars regisseren. De film zou oorspronkelijk door Robert Rodriguez gemaakt worden maar die veranderde op het laatste moment zijn planning om Frank Miller's Sin City te verfilmen. Source: The Hollywood Reporter.
Michael Keaton is binnenkort te zien in een Herbie, The Love Bug remake volgens Variety... Bad career movie, Mike!
De trailer van Team America is nu online. De marionetten film wordt gemaakt door South Park bedenkers Trey Parker en Matt Stone. Wat kan je verwachten? Een Thunderbirds persiflage voor 16 jaar en ouder!

Punisher 2 coming soon?:
Punisher ster Thomas Jane gaat weer de zwarte shirt met witte doodshoofd dragen voor een nieuw avontuur van deze Marvel superheld.
Dat men toch besluit om Punisher 2 te maken, komt als een verassing want de film was niet succesvol
in de Amerikaanse Box Office:
"In today's market, if it's not a blockbuster, then it's somehow considered a failure," vertelde Thomas Jane, "I just don't understand that point of view. It saddens me that if a film doesn't sell a million Happy Meals that it's considered to be a failure, and that is just incorrect. We need to change our view of that. In today's market, there's certainly a place for the blockbuster type of film, but if you can make a film for $30 million and its grossed like 50-something so far worldwide and then do a bunch more business on DVD, then that film has done its job."
Inderdaad, Thomas. Hij vertelde ook nog wie zijn tegenstander wordt in het vervolg:
"We want Jigsaw to be the bad guy. We'll probably shoot it for much the same budget and probably go to Australia or South Africa where we can stretch the dollar. I'd do another one. It's a niche market film that will always be that, and that's what it should be.
I like the character a lot and I had a lot of fun with him. For me, the second one would be an exploration of the morality of what he does. He's so close to being a bad guy and does what he does cause more harm than good? Those kind of things are interesting for me.
Where do you draw the line between what you're doing being justifiable and not.
It will just be incredibly violent and then it will just get more and more violent as the film goes on. That's the kind of film that it should be! It's a real take no prisoners punk rock kind of an action film, and g**ammit, it should piss a lot of people off!"
