New Posters!:
Mooie nieuwe posters zijn online verschenen, we beginnen met de teaser poster van John Woo's Spy Hunter
met in de hoofdrol The Rock. Dan is er de teaser poster van de sci-fi film Serenity, geregisseerd
door Joss Whedon. Danny Glover is ook weer terug in de horror film Saw en tenslotte de wonderschone
poster van Robert Rodriguez' and Frank Miller's Sin City!!! Rodriguez is er in geslaagd om de
toon en stijl van Miller's comics te behouden, ik ben erg onder de indruk! Klik op de posters voor grote versies, enjoy.

Goodbye Jerry Goldsmith...:
Eén van mijn favoriete filmcomponisten, Jerry Goldsmith, is op 75 jarige
leeftijd overleden. Hij had een gave om de film prachtig te ondersteunen met zijn sfeervolle filmscore.
Een paar titels; Rambo, Total Recall, Basic Instinct, Alien,
L.A. Confidential en The Omen, waar hij ook een Oscar voor kreeg. We zullen hem missen...

Adrien Brody talks King Kong!:
Adrien Brody sprak met SCI FI Wire
over zijn rol als ex-fighter pilot Jack Driscoll in Peter Jackson's remake van King Kong:
"Well, for once I get to be, first of all, this action hero and the guy who gets the girl, in a sense. It's a fantastic journey. It's basically the guy who becomes the man that he wants to be.
My character aspires to be that person who takes charge and goes for it, and I think a lot of people, for whatever reason, can't quite do that or take those steps. I'm a huge fan of Peter Jackson. He mastered, he and his own company, the art of special effects. And although that will be a big part of it, I think their focus will be on the dramatic side as well."

Sam Raimi talks Spider-man 3!!!:
Regisseur Sam Raimi onthulde een aantal details over Spider-man 3 tijdens een interview met de BBC:
You're currently at work on the script for Spider-Man 3...
I just finished this morning [Monday 12th July] - I mean the basic story. I'd been working on it with my brother.
What can you tell us?
It's going to follow the natural progression of the growth of these two individuals, Mary Jane Watson and Peter Parker. It will be a love story and it will track the relationship as they encounter new conflicts that separate them. And hopefully their own will and love for each other will bring them back together in the piece. Harry will be a problem, but I'm not certain if Harry will become the Goblin or not. The thing I'm really not certain about is if he comes to feel, "Now I have the means to destroy Spider-Man - I was too weak before but now I have a way and I will become the man that my father always dreamed I could be." Or, does he feel: "Now I understand why Spider-Man had to destroy him, because he was a mass murderer and now my anger can drain away from me." It could be an answer to a question and it ends the pursuit, but I'm not certain which way to go.

More Superman news:
Ahh, nu wordt het pas echt interessant, Bryan Singer's editor/composer John Ottman (The Usual Suspect, X2) gaat ook meewerken aan de
Superman film volgens Music from the Movies.
Dit project zal een grote uitdaging voor hem worden maar ik twijfel niet aan zijn kunnen want zijn edit-style is
perfect en zijn filmmuziek is sfeervol!
Superman V vermeldt dat Richard Donner, zijn vrouw Lauren Schuler-Donner en Christopher Reeve
in de onderhandelings fase zitten met WB om Superman te produceren!!! Richard Donner was verantwoordelijk voor
de regie van de eerste Superman film waar Christopher Reeve de hoofdrol in speelde.

Acteur Colin Farrell sprak over Oliver Stone's nieuwste f*king epos Alexander! Hij vertelde o.a. hoe
de f*cked up regisseur te werk ging, here's a f*cking clip, you f*ck:
Did you look at the Richard Burton one?
Yeah, I watched the Richard Burton one. Ours is not as stiffly classic. I mean, Burton is a f*cking genius. F*cking Richard Burton, oh my God. But the whole piece as an energy was for my money far too soupy. These men, even ours will probably be too f*cking gentle. But these were f*cking animals. They were animals, even the king. It wasn’t sitting on the throne in a castle. He was on the battlefield with blood, sweat and tears. And society was rough. It was honest, but it was rough. They drank a lot. They cussed a lot. Their dialect would've been something far more animal than, “Hello, I'm Alexander, the king.” It would've been guttural, something that sounded not Arabic, but something that sounded a little Latvian or Lithuanian. There would've been animal sounds, but there wasn't. In ours, Oliver was lucky enough that he let us Irish boys use Irish accents and Welsh boys use their Welsh accents and there's a couple of English actors in there. But it's primarily a Celtic sound. So I use my own speech, but I cleaned up the diction. I cleaned it up a little bit. So that's how it differs. It's more real as a result I hope.
How was the Oliver Stone experience?
Oh, it was great, man. Yeah. I had an amazing time working with him. He's an incredible man. An incredible filmmaker.
What was his process of directing you?
I mean, he definitely demands a different respect as each human demands a different way of trying to pull them out of themselves and dance with him. Oh man, he was very honest with me from day one, very tough and he should've been. Just tough in his honesty and the brutality of his honesty. “That was a sh*t take. It was terrible, terrible. Okay, f*ck it, lets go out and work and go. We're here.” Just honest. At the same time, when he told you that that was a great take, you knew that that was a great take. There was no dancing around the truth. He didn't dance around the truth, thank God. There's not enough people in the world that has the brutal honesty that he has.

U.S. Box Office July 16-18:
Will Smith's I, Robot heeft de Spinneman van de troon getrapt en is op de eerste plaats
binnengekomen in de Amerikaanse Box Office! Spider-man 2 staat nu weliswaar op een tweede plaats maar doet
het nog steeds prima met $24 miljoen en een totaal opbrengst van $301 miljoen! Hilary Duff's A Cinderalla Story
doet het ook goed met een derde positie en $15 miljoen. De strijd zal later deze week doorgaan wanneer een andere
superheld in de bioscoop zal verschijnen, Halle Berry's Catwoman! Verder zal ook een spion genaamd
Jason Bourne en de blinde samurai Zatoichi zich aan de strijd toevoegen.

Rodriguez talks Sin City:
AICN heeft weer een exclusieve headline,
ze spraken met Robert Rodriguez over Sin City. Zijn nieuwste film is gebaseerd op de stripboeken
van Frank Miller die ook fungeert als co-director. Rodriguez vond het een geweldige ervaring om samen met Miller
aan de film te werken. Here's a clip:
"I told Frank right off the bat that I wasn't interested in adapting the books, I wanted to simply translate them to the screen. I didn't want to make Robert Rodriguez's SIN CITY, I wanted to make Frank Miller's SIN CITY. I love these books and wanted to see this movie be as true to his vision as possible. Having learned all this new technology over my past several movies, the time was right. I also understood his process, because he writes, draws, inks and even letters his own material. The idea of him directing was really because I knew he could do it. He'd already been directing all these years, only he was using a pen and paper instead of a camera. When I told Frank that I wanted him to direct at least one of the stories he was so excited about the idea that he said right away, "BIG FAT KILL!" But later I realized what I really wanted was for him to be there directing all the time with me. He picked it up quick. I have to say, it was a thrill for us all to see him stalking the set, running up to actors to give direction, while furiously sketching up additional shots."

Impossible Mission: Impossible 3:
Wow, dit komt als een verassing, regisseur Joe Carnahan (Narc) heeft Tom Cruise's Mission Impossible 3
verlaten met als reden:"creative differences"!
De produktie zal nog steeds volgende maand in Berlijn van start gaan maar wie op de regisseurstoel gaat zitten
is niet bekend.

Die Hard 4 update :
Moviehole heeft een interessante Die Hard 4 roddel.
De Die Hard 4: Die Hardest titel zal waarschijnlijk de nieuwe popi titel DH 4.0 krijgen.
Doug Richardson (Hostage) werkt momenteel aan het script en de produktie gaat volgend jaar zomer beginnen. Reginald Vel Johnson zal
ook weer van de partij zijn als Al Powell!

The Latest Superman Developments:
Geweldig nieuws om het weekend goed te beginnen! It's official, X-men's Bryan Singer is
de nieuwe regisseur van Superman Returns! Inderdaad ze hebben zelfs de titel veranderd van
Superman Reborn, via Superman Lives naar Superman V en
uiteindelijk in Superman Returns. AICN vermeldt dat
Bryan Singer en schrijvers Michael Dougherty & Dan Harris "from scratch" beginnen met de nieuwe Superman film:
"The J.J. Abrams script has been completely tossed out. Not of shred of it will remain. That McG ordered SUPERMAN cybersuit (Brilliant Ideas From Mr Hot Wheels, eh?) that Stan Winston's brilliant craftsmen were paid zillions to create is GONE!
this film does not throw the Donner films away and allegedly somehow has something to do with their timeline and history!!! So... from the title, all we're left with is... he must have left, and now he's back.
SUPERMAN RETURNS will not be an Origin Story. We're not going to walk through all that molasses for the umpteenth time, waiting for Kal-El to do something or become Superman again!"
Bryan Singer heeft dus zijn remake van Logan's Run stopgezet om te beginnen aan de Man of Steel
produktie. Hij zal waarschijnlijk weer direct beginnen aan Logan's Run zodra Superman is afgerond.
MAAR wie gaat dan X-men 3 regisseren? Bronnen vermelden dat Fox waarschijnlijk een andere
regisseur zal benaderen.
Scifi Wire kreeg
de kans om aan de vorige Superman regisseur McG te vragen waarom hij besloot het project te verlaten:
"I was passionate about telling the genesis story, and the studio wanted something a little different. We were working on the picture for a long time, and ultimately we just agreed that it's best just to pursue other interests at this point."
Conclusie, ik denk dat het goed nieuws is dat ze een nieuw Superman verhaal gaan vertellen en niet
van voor af aan beginnen met de vernietiging van Krypton en het sturen van Kal-El naar de Aarde. Bryan Singer is een
geweldige regisseur die in staat is om een action-packed film gecombineerd met een goed geschreven verhaal te filmen.
Mijn vraag is alleen of hij ook deze film legendarisch kan maken, een groots opgezet epos, want Superman Returns
moet "The mother of all the Superhero flicks" worden! I'll keep you posted.

Team America set visit!:
AICN sprak met South Park
bedenkers Trey Parker and Matt Stone over hun nieuwste project Team America. De hele cast zal bestaan uit
poppen, inderdaad, net als Thunderbirds maar dan voor 16 jaar en ouder. Moriarty schreef
het volgende over zijn set visit:
Make that puppets, though, instead of people. Lots and lots of puppets. At times, there are as many as 40 puppeteers working from specially rigged scaffolds suspended above the miniature sets, as well as more puppeteers working the facial controls via remote control.
The guys are cutting this as quickly as they shoot it, working every night with Tom Vogt, their editor. The scene I saw was still rough, but right away, it clues you in to the tone of the film, which might surprise some of their most ardent fans. It’s not overtly silly or jampacked with obvious jokes. "We figured out pretty quickly that the more straight you play it, the funnier everything gets," said Matt. "Watching puppets discuss life and death issues is just funny. Period."
Team America bevat ook een levensechte "puppet sex scene", hehe, how cool is that!
