New Posters:
Twee nieuwe posters gevonden op de websites van The Movie Box en Themes.ru. De eerste poster is van de The Hellboy bad guys en de tweede is een sfeervolle van Intolerable Cruelty. Deze romantische komedie met George Clooney en Catherine Zeta-Jones is gemaakt door de Coen Brothers!

McG back on board!:
McG (Charlie's Angels) is terug om Superman te maken. Dit keer heeft die zelfs hulp meegenomen in de vorm van Drew Barrymore, zij gaat volgens de geruchten de rol van Lois Lane spelen. McG werkt nu met screenwriter J.J. Abrams aan het script. Wie de hoofdrol gaat spelen is nog steeds niet bekend...

Beverly Hills Cop IV:
Volgens The Z review kunnen we binnenkort weer Axel Foley in een nieuw Beverly Hills Cop avontuur verwachten:"Eddie, Judge and John Ashton are all on board for an early 04 start. No truth to the rumor that Martin Brest is returning as director either sorry, a director is still be found. I can tell you though that the script is apparently funny and pretty gritty. "Haunted Mansion" is going to play a big part in all this though."
I don't know, man, het is nog steeds moeilijk om het eerste deel te overtreffen.

Cheech & Chong smokin' again!:
Cheech & Chong are back! De film over twee gasten die in een permanente stoned fase verkeren, wordt door New Line Cinema uitgebracht. Het project wordt op dit moment uitgewerkt, een script is nog niet beschikbaar maar Marin en Chong hebben wel een verhaallijn afgerond.

Cursed is Cancelled:
The Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson movie Cursed is halverwege het film schema stop gezet. Miramax heeft hun vertrouwen in de horror film verloren na het zien van de dailies. Craven en Williamson werkten eerder samen aan de succesvolle Scream serie.

Big Trouble in Little China part II?:
Screenwriter Corey Mitchel sprak met producer Debra Hill en horror meister John Carpenter over een vervolg op Big Trouble in Little China. Carpenter is "totally on board," Kurt Russell is "interested" en ze willen ook vragen of Jackie Chan wilt meewerken.
Goed nieuws, benieuwd hoe het afloopt.

The Day After Tomorrow update:
The Z Review heeft wat meer info over de rampenfilm The Day After Tomorrow. Roland Emmerich (Independence Day) regisseert en Dennis Quaid speelt één van de hoofdrollen.
"In the movie, Dennis Quaid plays a climatologist," reports The Z Review, "who tries to figure out a way to save the world from abrupt global warming. He must get to his young son (Jake Gyllenhaal) in New York, which is being taken over by a new ice age. Someone who did some FX work for the film has reportedly revealed that Emmerich has asked the FX people to digitally scan the entire island of Manhattan. This was apparently done for a huge scene where a gigantic tidal wave washes over the city and a scene of a giant oil tanker floating between the skyscrapers. LA is also torn apart by tornados the source said, adding that much of the story is focused on the survival of the human race after the ice age hits."

San Diego Comic Con Update:
Ik denk dat ik iets te snel ben terug gekomen van mijn US trip. Afgelopen weekend was in Amerika namelijk de San Diego Comic Con waar een presentatie werd gehouden van films die het komende jaar en in 2004 uitkomen. Hieronder een overzicht van het laatste nieuws, enjoy:
De eerste plaatjes van Doc Ock in Spider-man 2 waren tijdens de Comic Con te zien. Vele filmsites hadden het direkt geplaatst maar Superhero Hype kreeg een mooie high res pic in hun handen. Check it out, click rechts onder voor een grote versie.

X2 writer/producer Tom DeSanto vertelde iets over een project wat werd omschreven als een live-action
version van the Transformers! Wat? Yep, The Transformers, woohoo!!!!
In de film wordt gebruik gemaakt van oude spfx technieken maar uiteraard ook CGI:"I think
relying 100 percent on CGI would be a mistake. But, you know, you need CGI. You will believe that an
18-wheeler will transform." The Bots worden gebasseerd op de "original 1980s line up." Wie de film gaat regisseren is niet bekend, wel worden namen genoemd als Michael Bay, Robert Zemeckis and Joseph Kahn. Source: Sci-fi Wire |
De tekenfilm serie zal de tijd overbruggen tussen Episode II en III en wordt uitgezonden in November 2003 en Februari 2004 (in de US uiteraard).
"Done by the same team that creates Samurai Jack, the animation is exquisite and the voices are spot on. In the first episode, Yoda describes in V.O. how planet after planet is falling to Count Dooku and that the Jedi Knights must battle to stop their infection of the universe . The pseudo-anime style of Samurai Jack is evident, even though the characters are drawn to resemble their actor counterparts--one scene has Mace Windu somersault through the air before slicing some being - too big to fit on screen - in half. As modern day Samurai of sorts, the ties between Jedi and their Japanese predecessors is not missed."
Halle Berry was ook aanwezig afgelopen weekend en sprak met Sci-fir Wire over de James Bond spin-off Jinx. Die Another Day writers Neal Purvis en Robert Wade hebben net het script afgeleverd. "I've been talking to the writers about it," vertelde Halle Berry, "and they had a great idea for who she is and where she comes from, and I think it won't be like Bond. It's not supposed to be a female Bond. But it is very edgy, and I think we'll have elements of that humor that Bond has, because Jinx had that in the Bond movie. But it won't be as tongue-in-cheek as Bond."

AINT IT COOL scored freakin' huge with some amazing, awesome, stunning Batman pics! Yeah, you've read it right, B A T M A N pics, you sons of b..sorry...!!! Zal nu weer even verder gaan in het Nederlands, een of andere independent studio heeeft een korte Batman film gemaakt omdat ze vonden dat het tijd werd om een Batman film te maken dat trouw blijft aan de comic. Geen rubberen pak maar een ouderwetse kick ass grijs-zwarte dat lijkt op een combinatie van Frank Miller's and Alex Ross' Batman stijl. Click op de plaatjes voor een grote versie, klik H I E R om meer Batman te zien en...THE JOKER!

US Box Office July 18-20:
Bad Boys II namen met veel geweld de eerste plaats van de Piraten afgelopen weekend. De actie komedie met Will Smith en Martin Lawrence leverde zo'n $46 miljoen op! The Pirates of the Caribbean doet nog steeds goede zaken op de tweede plaats met $33 miljoen, totale opbrengst $132 miljoen. Nieuwkomers Johnny English en How to Deal hadden geen impact op de rest van de charts.

Once Upon a Time in Mexico goodies!:
The official site van Once Upon a Time in Mexico is online inclusief een teaser trailer (helaas geen Quicktime versie). De film is het derde El Mariachi verhaal en de hoofdrol wordt wederom gespeeld door Antiono Banderas. Verder zien we ook Salma Hayek, Willem Dafoe, Mickey Rourke, Johnny Depp...and the list goes on and on. Robert Rodriguez is weer verantwoordelijk voor de regie. Nona Gale talks The Matrix Revolutions:
Actrice Nona Gale zal weer de rol van Zee spelen in The Matrix Revolutions en vertelde in een interview dat veel vragen na het zien van Reloaded beantwoordt zullen worden in het derde deel:"People will be relieved when they see Revolutions. I know a lot of people are like, 'What's going on?"
Zee had een klein rolletje in Reloaded maar in Revolutions krijgt ze het een stuk drukker:"Number three is where I get down. I'm doing a lot of diving and running and jumping and stuff."

X-men 3 update!:
Volgens Dark Horizons heeft regisseur Bryan Singer net het script van X-men 3 afgerond! Singer gaat eerst een andere film maken voordat hij gaat beginnen aan X3. Goed nieuws, ik kan niet wachten om Wolverine weer in actie te zien!

Tarantino explains Kill Bill Volume I and II:
Quentin Tarantino sprak met Cinescape over zijn nieuwste film Kill Bill en waarom hij heeft besloten om de film in twee delen uit te brengen:"It's been speculated for a long time, and we hadn't known for sure if we were going to do it or not until recently. I screened it for [Miramax President] Harvey [Weinstein] and said, "This is the first half of the movie; we're not done with the second one." After screening it to Harvey, he said, "That's it. That's the first movie. Great ending. Fantastic. I love it. That's the first movie." We didn't split it up because of time either. The movie is not going to be that long. It would be a long movie if I put it all together. As it is, the first one is about 94 minutes and the next one is about 94 minutes."
Hij vertelde ook wanneer we de films kunnen verwachten:"The first one will come out at the beginning of October and we're looking at the schedule [to determine] exactly when to bring out the next one. The idea is at a certain point both movies will be playing in theaters."
