And The Joker is...:
Latino Review has a giant scoop, the site's received information about who will play The Joker in the Batman Begins sequel. Are you ready? Here ya go:
"Now here we are at it again as we just got word from A VERY TRUSTED SOURCE that the offer last night was officially made to Heath Ledger to star as The Joker in the Batman Begins Sequel!"
Interesting choice... and I like it! Beware though that its not official, but I'll keep you posted on this. I'll be back with a new update this weekend.

Hulk's back on track!:
Great news today, French director Louis Leterrier (Transporter films, Unleashed) will helm the new Hulk film for Marvel Studios. Producer Avi Arad met Leterrier a few years ago and was struck by his passion for the Marvel Comics universe. After being approached for the job, the director went back to his studio and, with the help of an artist, storyboarded two action sequences and developed a take on the monster.
Kevin Feige and Gale Anne Hurd will also produce, Zak Penn (X2 and X3) will write the script. I hope Eric Bana will als return to play the leading role.

Newsflash:
We've got our second official heatwave of this summer here in Holland, so it's pretty hard to write this update, guys! Lets check out today's headlines:
My favorite comic book artist, Frank Miller, will adapt and direct The Spirit, which is based on Will Eisner's classic strip. Miller made his debut when he co-directed Sin City with Robert Rodriguez. "I intend to be extremely faithful to the heart and soul of the material," Miller said, "but it won't be nostalgic. It will be much scarier than people expect." So this will be his really first directing gig, without the help of Rodriguez. But I'll bet it will be a visually stunning pic. Source: Variety
The trailer and official site of the supernatural thriller The Reaping is now online. Stephen "Predator 2" Hopkins directs, cast includes Hilary Swank, David Morrissey and Idris Elba. Love the graphics, check it out here.
My futures wives Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman will play ferociously ambitious sisters, who are rivals for the bed and heart of King Henry VIII in the upcoming The Other Boleyn Girl. Eric Bana will play the King (lucky bastard) and Justin Chadwic will direct. Source: Variety

Spielberg talks future projects:
Steven Spielberg had a nice long chat with Spielbergfilms.com about his future projects. Here's a quick rundown of the status of the projects.

Jurassic Park IV: Looks like director Joe Johnston is standing by. He also directed Jurassic Park III.
Lincoln film: "The script's being written, and hopefully sometime in September/October of '07 I'll have the chance to start that. I can't guarantee that.. that script is in process."
Indiana Jones IV: "I just want to make sure that the fanbase is given the best 'Indiana Jones' anybody could possibly make, and until I can assure myself that at least I'm trying to make the best 'Indiana Jones' film of all time, the development will continue. The process of developing the script will continue, and it continues right now with David Koepp writing the script."
Transformers: "Well the dailies are fantastic. I've only seen the scenes with the characters and a lot of the action, we call them plates, but it's plates with first team characters running around and hiding and fighting and it's pretty amazing what Michael Bay's (the director of the film, Spielberg's producing) doing with the camera, and with the performances."

Virginia Madsen talks The Number 23:
Sideway's beautiful actress Virginia Madsen stars opposite Jim Carrey in the drama The Number 23. Carrey plays a man who's obsessed with the number 23 and loses touch with reality. "This is going to be such an important film for Jim," Virginia said, "Because he was so ready to be this. Jim was never really a standup comic, really. Jim's always's been an actor.
It's basically this man's descent into madness, as he slowly loses his mind, and I'm trying to pull him back from the brink. He's going into this other world as he's reading a book called The Number 23. And he starts to think that the book is about him, because of all these similarities. Then he's convinced that it is him. Then he's convinced that this is being done to him. So he's madly trying to find out who's to blame and becomes suspicious of me, and he just gets darker and darker and darker. And you go into the world that he's seeing as you read the book, too. So visually there's all this wild stuff, it's director Joel Schumacher..., it's all these weird worlds that you go into and stuff. It's going to be very cool."

Fantastic Four update:
Director Tim Story talked about preparing the second Fantastic Four movie. Here's what he had to say:
"I've been going crazy prepping this thing. Just got back from Vancouver, which is of course where we will be filming the movie, and things are shaping up. It's the hard part of the phase where I have to make the ..'s work. Even with 100+ mil, there's never enough money. Looking at the plan for the new Baxter Building interior and it's going to be hot. We're going more high tech and we're giving Reed Richards and the gang more gadgets this time around.
What I'm really excited about is the Fantasticar. It's coming guys in all it's glory. Wait until you see it. It's going to split in pieces and all that. Johnny and Ben fight over who should fly it. All the fun you expect."

Don Payne, the writer of the film, also revealed some interesting stuff, check this out:
"The Silver Surfer will be in it. The Fantasticar will be in it. We're just trying to make it more exciting and funnier, and, you know, we're trying to top the first one. I think people know the characters now. They know the tone a little bit better. Origin stories are always hard to get off the ground, and we're going to be up and running. I think the one thing I really want to do is make Reed Richards, that character, smarter and tougher. He's the leader. I think Ioan did a great job in the first film, but I think he could have had more stuff to play as the leader. Reed Richards has his nerdy side, but he ultimately has to make some tough choices."
