And The Joker is...:
Latino Review heeft via een betrouwbare bron te horen
gekregen wie The Joker gaat spelen in het vervolg op Batman Begins. Are you ready? Here ya go:
"Now here we are at it again as we just got word from A VERY TRUSTED SOURCE that the offer last night was officially made to Heath Ledger to star as The Joker in the Batman Begins Sequel!"
Interessante keuze... and I like it! Het nieuws is nog niet officieel maar ik hou je absoluut op de hoogte. Volgende update is dit weekend, guys.

Hulk's back on track!:
De Franse regisseur Louis Leterrier (Transporter films, Unleashed) mag voor Marvel Studios een nieuw avontuur van de Hulk gaan filmen.
Producer Avi Arad ontmoette Leterrier een aantal jaren geleden en was onder de indruk van zijn passie voor de Marvel Comics. Toen Arad ging peilen of hij interesse had om de
film te regisseren, ging Leterrier direct aan de slag om twee action sequences te storyboarden en zijn versie van het groene monster te ontwikkelen... het contract was dus nog niet getekend!
Kevin Feige en Gale Anne Hurd zullen naast Avi de film produceren, Zak Penn (X2 en X3) gaat het script schrijven. Hopelijk zien we ook Eric Bana terug in de hoofdrol.

Ghost Rider online!:
The official website van Ghost Rider is online! Mark Steven Johnson regisseert de film waarin Nicolas Cage de rol speelt van onze held.
De rest van de cast bestaat uit Wes Bentley, Eva Mendes, Matt Long, Sam Elliott en Peter Fonda. Op de site zijn veel goodies te vinden, waaronder een Production Blog met behind-the-scenes informatie.

Het is weer bloedheet, guys, dus ik hou het kort maar krachtig vandaag! Lets check out today's headlines:
 Mijn favoriete comic book artist, Frank Miller, gaat The Spirit verfilmen. De film is gebaseerd op de gelijknamige classic comic van Will Eisner. Miller maakte zijn debuut met Sin City die hij samen met Robert Rodriguez regisseerde. "I intend to be extremely faithful to the heart and soul of the material," vertelde Miller, "but it won't be nostalgic. It will be much scarier than people expect." Ben heel benieuwd hoe Miller het project gaat aanpakken zonder de hulp van de ervaren Rodriguez, maar ik weet zeker dat het een visueel spektakel wordt. Source: Variety
De trailer en official site van de bovennatuurlijke thriller The Reaping is nu online. Stephen "Predator 2" Hopkins regisseert, de cast bestaat uit Hilary Swank, David Morrissey en Idris Elba. De stijl van de website is heel cool, check it out here.
My futures wives Scarlett Johansson en Natalie Portman spelen twee wrede rivaliserende zusjes die het bed willen delen met King Henry VIII in de film The Other Boleyn Girl. Eric Bana speelt de King (lucky bastard) en Justin Chadwic regisseert. Source: Variety

Spielberg talks future projects:
Steven Spielberg sprak met Spielbergfilms.com over zijn toekomstige projecten.
Hieronder een kort overzicht van de films.
Jurassic Park IV: Regisseur Joe Johnston is standing by. Hij regisseerde ook het geweldige derde deel van de Jurassic Park films.
Lincoln film: "The script's being written, and hopefully sometime in September/October of '07 I'll have the chance to start that. I can't guarantee that.. that script is in process."
Indiana Jones IV: "I just want to make sure that the fanbase is given the best 'Indiana Jones' anybody could possibly make, and until I can assure myself that at least I'm trying to make the best 'Indiana Jones' film of all time, the development will continue. The process of developing the script will continue, and it continues right now with David Koepp writing the script."
Transformers: "Well the dailies are fantastic. I've only seen the scenes with the characters and a lot of the action, we call them plates, but it's plates with first team characters running around and hiding and fighting and it's pretty amazing what Michael Bay's (de regisseur van de film, Spielberg produceert) doing with the camera, and with the performances."

U.S. Box Office July 14-16:
Pirates staat voor de tweede week op de eerste plaats in de American Box Office en is inmiddels de grootste film van 2006 geworden.
De strijd voor de tweede plaats werd met een paar dollars verschil gewonnen door the Wayans brothers' komedie Little Man.
Owen Wilson's You, Me and Dupree moest genoegen nemen met de derde positie. Here's the rest of the Top Ten:

Virginia Madsen talks The Number 23:
Sideway's mooie actrice Virginia Madsen speelt tegenover Jim Carrey in The Number 23.
Carrey speelt een man die langzaam zijn grip op de realiteit verliest.
"This is going to be such an important film for Jim," vertelde Virginia, "Because he was so ready to be this. Jim was never really a standup comic, really. Jim's always's been an actor.
It's basically this man's descent into madness, as he slowly loses his mind, and I'm trying to pull him back from the brink. He's going into this other world as he's reading a book called The Number 23. And he starts to think that the book is about him, because of all these similarities. Then he's convinced that it is him. Then he's convinced that this is being done to him. So he's madly trying to find out who's to blame and becomes suspicious of me, and he just gets darker and darker and darker. And you go into the world that he's seeing as you read the book, too. So visually there's all this wild stuff, it's director Joel Schumacher..., it's all these weird worlds that you go into and stuff. It's going to be very cool."

Newsflash:
Hi there! I'm back! Heb een heerlijke vakantie gehad in Miami Beach, lekker relaxen en natuurlijk veel films gezien! Superman Returns was uiteraard de film waarvoor ik ging, en inmiddels heb ik hem al drie keer gezien. Mijn Amerikaanse review is hier online, de Nederlandse versie volgt over een paar weken. Nu eerst een update met het heetste nieuws van afgelopen dagen.
De trailer van Christopher Nolan's magicians flick The Prestige is online. De cast bestaat uit Hugh "Wolverine" Jackman, Christian "Batman" Bale en Michael "Alfred" Caine, klik hier voor de trailer.
The Broken Lizard gang is terug met de nieuwe komedie Beerfest! This title says it all, check out the trailer here.
Ik ben een grote Rocky fan dus ben zeer benieuwd naar Sly's Rocky Balboa. Hopelijk wordt deze film zijn comeback, klik hier voor de coole trailer!
Een mooie Spider-Man 3 3D poster is in de Amerikaanse bioscoop lobby verschenen! De poster bestaat uit een foto van Spidey's logo dat van vorm verandert. Het derde deel wordt geregisseerd door Sam Raimi en de cast bestaat uit Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, Thomas Haden Church, Topher Grace en Bryce Dallas Howard. Klik op de pic voor meer.

Fantastic Four update:
Regisseur Tim Story sprak over de voorbereidingen van de Fantastic Four sequel. Hij vertelde het volgende:
"I've been going crazy prepping this thing. Just got back from Vancouver, which is of course where we will be filming the movie, and things are shaping up. It's the hard part of the phase where I have to make the ..'s work. Even with 100+ mil, there's never enough money. Looking at the plan for the new Baxter Building interior and it's going to be hot. We're going more high tech and we're giving Reed Richards and the gang more gadgets this time around.
What I'm really excited about is the Fantasticar. It's coming guys in all it's glory. Wait until you see it. It's going to split in pieces and all that. Johnny and Ben fight over who should fly it. All the fun you expect."
Don Payne, de schrijver van de film, onthulde ook een aantal sappige details, check this out:
"The Silver Surfer will be in it. The Fantasticar will be in it. We're just trying to make it more exciting and funnier, and, you know, we're trying to top the first one. I think people know the characters now. They know the tone a little bit better. Origin stories are always hard to get off the ground, and we're going to be up and running. I think the one thing I really want to do is make Reed Richards, that character, smarter and tougher. He's the leader. I think Ioan did a great job in the first film, but I think he could have had more stuff to play as the leader. Reed Richards has his nerdy side, but he ultimately has to make some tough choices."
