Reggy's Spider-man 2 Review:
Eindelijk, Spider-man 2 draait deze week in de Nederlandse bioscopen! Ik heb de muurkruiper van de week
gezien in mijn favoriete bioscoop Rembrandt te Utrecht en je kan mijn recensie nu lezen door op de pic te klikken!

Newsflash:
Het is een beetje rustig in Hollywood de laatste tijd, ik heb helaas geen "groundbreaking" headlines maar ik vond
gelukkig wel een paar kleine newsbits, lees snel verder voor today's newsflash!:
 Mario Kassar en Andrew Vanja proberen Jan de Bont (Speed) te strikken om Sharon Stone te regisseren in Basic Instinct 2. De Bont werkte als cameraman in het eerste deel dat geregisseerd werd door Paul Verhoeven. Source: Moviehole
New Line Cinema heeft de rechten gekocht van de videogame Vampire: The Requiem. De studio is van plan om het als een franchise project te behandelen. Source: Variety
Regsisseur George Romero gaat binnenkort beginnen aan Land of the Dead. De horror film maakt deel uit Romero's zombie film saga dat bestaat uit Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead en Day of the Dead. Source: Variety
Check out de geweldige nieuwe trailer van Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow right here. De film is geregisseerd door Kerry Conran, de cast bestaat uit Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow en Angelina Jolie!
Dit is interessant, Dreamworks gaat waarschijnlijk Sylverster Stallone's Rocky 6 uitbrengen! Sly is al enkele jaren bezig om deze film te maken maar kampt met legal issues omtrent de rechten van de Rocky films. Deze problemen zijn nu opgelost. Dreamworks werkt op dit moment samen met de ster aan de reality TV serie The Contender. Sly vertelt het volgende:"It's pretty much based on what George Foreman is doing and has done with his life. So, to me, it gives it credibility. It takes it away from just about boxing. It's about a certain ideal. As you get older, you realize that life changes. Quite often you're not ready to step aside. You're not maybe ready to watch the parade go by. It's about redemption and also trying to follow one's dream to the very end. What you lack in skill you may not make up in will.

Newsflash:
Paramount Pictures is van plan om The Ten Commandments voor de derde keer te verfilmen. De vorige versies werden geregisseerd door Cecil B. DeMille, Charlton Heston speelde Moses in de tweede film. Mark Gordon gaat de nieuwe versie produceren en Charles Randolph (The Life of David Gale) zal waarschijnlijk het script schrijven. Source: The Hollywood Reporter

U.S. Box office July 09-11:
Spider-man 2 is wederom de nummer 1 in de Amerikaanse Box Office en de film heeft al zo'n $257 miljoen opgebracht! Deze week zal de muurkruiper ook in de Nederlandse bioscopen te zien zijn. Will Ferrell's Anchorman doet het trouwens ook prima met een tweede plaats en $28 miljoen.
De strijd gaat deze week verder met Will Smith's I, Robot.

New Posters:
Nieuwe posters zijn weer online verschenen! Van links naar rechts, de horror film The Grudge met Sarah Michelle Gellar.
De poster lijkt een beetje op The Ring. Dan hebben we Vanity Fair met in de hoofdrol Reese Witherspoon
en tenslotte Finding Neverland met Johnny Depp en Kate Winslet. Klik op de pics voor grote versies.

Eastwood's & Spielberg's War Pic!!!:
Clint Eastwood & Steven Spielberg spannen hun krachten om de slag om Iwo Jima te verfilmen. Spielberg's Dreamworks
zal de Flags of Our Fathers: Heroes of Iwo Jima uitbrengen, volgens Variety:
The battle, which took place in winter 1945, was a turning point in the Pacific theater. In one month, 22,000 Japanese and 26,000 Americans died, and the battle produced one of World War II's most enduring images: a photograph of six soldiers raising an American flag on the flank of Mount Suribachi, the island's commanding high point.
One of the six was Navy corpsman John Bradley. Bradley never mentioned his experiences to his family, and it was only after his death in 1994 that his son James discovered his father's heroism. James Bradley wrote the "Flags of Our Fathers" book, which was published in 2000, with Ron Powers.
Eastwood en Spielberg hebben al eerder samengewerkt met The Bridges of Madison County.

Tiny Superman update:
Wederom een Superman update, neem het wel met een korreltje zout. I, Robot's Shia LaBeouf sprak
met USA Today over
zijn rol van Jimmy Olson in de Superman film! He vertelde ook iets meer over
de andere rollen van de vertraagde film:
"I met with McG (the director) today and talked about Jimmy Olsen and who's going to be playing who. "The production's so locked down they said I can't even take the script home. I have to go to Warner Bros. (studio) to read it and then leave it there.
They're going to go with an unknown (for the role of Supers), McG is trying to lure Scarlett Johansson for Lois Lane and Johnny Depp for Lex Luthor."
Dude, dat betekent dat McG nog steeds de regisseur is en niet Michael Bay? Too bad! En het betekent ook dat Jake Gyllenhaal niet meer
in de running is voor de hoofdrol.

Newsflash:
Spider-Man 2 heeft op donderdag $9.1 miljoen verdiend, de totale opbrengst is $211.2 miljoen en de film staat nu al op nummer 51 van de all-time domestic blockbuster list. Go Spidey!

Nieuwe international trailer van the clash of the titans film Alien vs. Predator is nu online.

Some Kind of Monster interview:
Deze film wil ik heel graag zien, de Metallica documentaire Some Kind of Monster! Ik ben al jaren een
grote fan van de band, laatst nog live gezien in Amsterdam en de reacties op de film zijn ontzettend positief.
Coming Soon kreeg de kans om met zanger
James Hetfield, drummer Lars Ulrich en gitarist Kirk Hammett te babbelen, here's a clip:
CS!: At what point did you realize that what you had was something far more than a promotional film?
Kirk: After the sequence of events that happened, we realized that we had more than just a promotional film, and we made the decision to keep the cameras rolling no matter what happened. We trusted Joe and Bruce as filmmakers to give them full reign.
Lars: Over the course of the next couple years, Joe and Bruce realized that they had what they considered to be a very unique film with a very strong dramatic thread going through it. The record company was sitting there, saying that they could turn this into 30-minute segments on VH1 for their version of the Osbournes. When I started hearing stuff like that, I got scared sh*tless. I talked to the rest of the band and it was decided that we had to buy this back, so we can give it to Joe and Bruce and let them fulfill their vision.
Kirk: The actual point up to James leaving to rehab was there, and that's stuff that goes a little bit deeper than your average TV reality show. At that point, we just had to trust Joe and Bruce and see where it all went. We didn't really want it to become trivialized.
