Spielberg talks next film:
Steven Spielberg started filming his next untitled historical thriller, which is set in the aftermath of the 1972 massacre of 11 Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics. The film tells the dramatic story of the secret Israeli squad assigned to track down and assassinate 11 Palestinians believed to have planned the massacre. Eric Bana will star as the squad leader. The film already got some political criticism from several groups. Here's what Spielberg had to say:

"The attack at Munich by Black September and the Israeli response to it was a defining moment in the modern history of the Middle East. It's easy to look back at historic events with the benefit of hindsight. What's not so easy is to try to see things as they must have looked to people at the time. Viewing Israel's response to Munich through the eyes of the men who were sent to avenge that tragedy adds a human dimension to a horrific episode that we usually think about only in political or military terms. By experiencing how the implacable resolve of these men to succeed in their mission slowly gave way to troubling doubts about what they were doing, I think we can learn something important about the tragic stand-off we find ourselves in today."

Very interesting project. The first setpics already appeared online, watch them here!

David Fincher's upcoming flicks:
Hope you guys enjoyed the Fourth of July weekend! It's a bit of a slow start after the holiday weekend, but here's an interesting newsbit. David Fincher will direct two movies back to back, beginning with Zodiac this September. The movie is based on the serial killer and stars Mark Ruffalo, Robert Downey Jr, Jake Gyllenhaal and Anthony Edwards.
After Zodiac, Fincher will re-team with Brad Pitt for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. The film centers on a man who, at age 50, begins aging backward and the complications that ensue when he falls in love with a woman of 30. Production will start in October 2006.
