New trailers:
Ik heb twee nieuwe trailers vandaag! We beginnen met de remake van Luc Besson's film Taxi.
Queen Latifah en Jimmy Fallon spelen de hoofdrol in de actie-komedie. Tim "The Barbershop" Story,
die overigens op dit moment begint aan The Fantastic Four, heeft Taxi geregisseerd.
Aaron Eckhart's thriller Suspect Zero
is ook online. De cast bestaat verder uit Ben Kingsley en "Trin" herself, Carrie-Anne Moss. Klik op de links om de trailers

Newsflash:
Woohoo, een paar geweldige updates vandaag om de dag goed af te sluiten (en nu maar hopen dat Nederland door mag naar de
volgende ronde), enjoy:
 Check out een geweldige banner van Oliver Stone's Alexander! De spektakelfilm is Stone's antwoord op de andere "historische" films zoals Troy en Gladiator. Colin Farrell, Angelina Jolie en Val Kilmer spelen de hoofdrollen in de film. Klik op de pic voor een grote versie.
Tim Robbins zal de hoofdrol spelen in Zathura. Jon Favreau (Elf) gaat de film regisseren dat gebaseerd is op het boek van Chris Van Allsburg. Source: Variety
Ander Tim Robbins nieuws, de officiële site van zijn nieuwste scifi film Code 46 is nu online. Klik op de link om de trailer te zien.
I love this pic, check out de poster van Without a Paddle. De komedie, met in de hoofdrol Seth "Scott" Green, Matthew Lillard en Dax Shepard, gaat over drie vrienden uit de grote stad die gaan kamperen in de bossen. Uiteraard gaat er van alles mis en komen ze een gestoorde mountain man (Burt Reynolds) tegen.

Rob Bowman and Jennifer Garner talk Elektra:
Regisseur Rob Bowman (Reign of Fire) vertelde meer over de stijl van zijn nieuwste film Elektra. Hij is niet
van plan om Elektra van daken te laten vliegen en springen maar zal zich meer richten op een character-driven
story in de stijl van The Cooler en 21 Grams.
Jennifer Garner sprak ook over haar hoofdrol: "We have our share of blowing things up, I've learned a few new weapons and I'm definitely, definitely fighting. It's not like I'm in a period piece, in a corset, or talking Shakespeare but it is very much driven by Elektra's darkness and what happens when she comes back to life, and what that second life means: whether it's redemption or whether it's a dark place from which you can't be redeemed. It's very dark and honest."
Bowman wilt de comicbook-films opnieuw uitvinden, "because Elektra is a tortured soul, and in the middle of an emotional crisis, I thought
this would be the right way to go," voegde hij toe.

Look out Darth Vader, General Grievous is coming!:
De eerste foto van General Grievous is online verschenen op de site van The Force.net!
Deze bad guy zal een grote rol spelen in Star Wars Episode III en geruchten zijn dat de stem verzorgd zal worden door niemand minder dan Gary Oldman. Producer Rick McCallum vertelde meer over Grievous:
"Count Dooku was the political leader behind the Separatists movement and instigator of the Clone Wars. In 'Episode III', we'll meet General Grievous, the military leader of all the Separatist armies. He's part alien and part robot. Grievous is a master strategist and the greatest hand-to-hand Jedi killer the galaxy has ever known."

Ken Watanabe talks Batman Begins!!!:
Ken Watanabe (The Last Samurai) vertelde meer over zijn rol van Bruce Wayne's mysterieuze vijandr Ra's Al Ghul
in de nieuwe Batman film:
"I chose the part because I liked the script, I picked it out immediately. I do pay attention to the way the script envisages the world and how that view is conveyed through the roles, as well as what the director wants to express. In Batman Begins I play a villain who has to guide a person who is wavering between good and evil. Exploring the dark side of human nature is something that interests me."

Kill Bill Vol. 3 coming... but not soon!:
Quentin Tarantino heeft plannen voor Kill Bill Vol. 3 maar gaat er niet direct aan beginnen.
"I have plans, actually not right away, but like in fifteen years from now, I'll do a third version of this saga,"
vertelde de regisseur.
Het verhaal zal dan waarschijnlijk gaan over Nicky, de dochter van Vernita Green (Vivica A. Fox) die getuige was
van de moord op haar moeder. The Bride (Uma Thurman) vertelde Nickey in het eerste deel dat ze op haar wacht als Nickey wraak wilt nemen.

The trailer van The Grudge is nu online. Sarah Michelle Gellar en Bill Pullman spelen de hoofdrol
in deze Amerikaanse remake van de Japanse horrorfilm. Klik op de pic om de trailer te downloaden.

U.S. Box Office June 18-20:
Een paar interessante ontwikkelingen, die ik niet had verwacht, in de Amerikaanse Box Office. Ben Stiller knalde
Harry Potter van de eerste plaats met zijn komedie Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story! De film
heeft maar $20 miljoen gekost en is Stiller's grootste openingsfilm. Spielberg's The Terminal
debuteerde op de tweede plaats met $18 miljoen. De grootste verassing is Garfield die na
een paar weken nog steeds op dezelfde plaats staat en uiteraard het grote geld binnen weet te halen. Andere verassingen, de scifi film The Chronicles of Riddick
zakte naar een zevende plaats, een vervolg zal waarschijnlijk niet meer gemaakt worden. En my man, Jackie Chan,
was helaas niet in staat om zijn tegenstanders knock uit te slaan, zijn actie-komedie Around the World in 80 Days
kwam op de negende plaats binnen. De film heeft $110 miljoen gekost, ouch!
De strijd gaat verder wanneer deze week Farenheit 9/11, White Chicks, The Notebook, Two Brothers en
The Door in the Floor in première gaan. Mijn voorspelling, denk dat Farenheit 9/11 de
grote sleeper hit van deze zomer gaat worden.

Incredible Blade: Trinity poster now online!!!:
Man, deze is zo mooi, de nieuwe poster van Blade: Trinity en IGN
is de eerste die het online heeft geplaatst! De Daywalker is terug om de mensheid te beschermen tegen de
bloedzuigers die deze keer hun krachten hebben gebundeld om de hele planeet over te nemen. Blade krijgt hulp van
een groep vampierjagers genaamd The Nightstalkers en ze ontdekken het grote geheim dat de leider van de vampiers
de legendarische Dracula is! David S. Goyer schreef en regisseerde de derde Blade film, de cast
bestaat uit Wesley Snipes, Kris Kristofferson en Jessica Biel.

Superman update!:
CHUD heeft een interessante Superman
update! Drie maal raden wie eventueel Lex Luthor gaat spelen:
According to a mysterious source (we’ll call him ‘Homeless Kryptonian’), that may indeed be the case. Warner Bros. has obviously decided they want to make their megabudget Supes movie cool for “the kids”, and with Moritz’s involvement comes the desire to place Vin Diesel in the role of criminal mastermind Lex Luthor (a role previously linked to everyone from Kevin Spacey to Johnny Depp). With the Chronicles of Riddick franchise turning out to not actually be one (hey, I liked it), getting into another high-profile gig with a built-in recognition factor may not be such a bad idea for the Vin-man.
Other rumors currently leaping tall buildings include the studio’s apparent acceptance of McG as director, after an ongoing (and perhaps still existing) desire to get attention-span deprived, hopelessly patriotic director Michael Bay on board. The suits have also expressed interest in slipping chiseled Smallville star Tom Welling into the costume of their hero (despite testing of other actors for the part), but are concerned with the audience confusion that could arise from changing actors in the key roles around him.
Mijn voorkeur gaat nog steeds uit naar Tom "Smallville" Welling als Superman!

Sam Neill talks Jurassic park IV:
Counting Down heeft nieuws over Jurassic Park IV geplaatst!
Sam Neill sprak met een lokale Australische radio station over de film en vertelde het volgende:
Host: What's up next for you, Sam? You're doing another Jurassic Park, is that right?
Sam: Yeah. I couldn't say exactly when, though. They're still trying to nail the right script, so I don't know. The premise is there, it's just a matter of getting the script absolutely right, which is very important.
Host: Now there's been three of these movies already. I was surprised they could even stretch it that far! What could possibly happen in a fourth one?
Sam: Well, uh, all I can say is there's lots of nasty dinosaurs in it, including me! (They all laugh)
Host: Actually I read a report on the internet, when I was researching for this interview with you, that said Jurassic Park IV was going to feature dinosaurs being trained to, uh, carry military weapons, like rocket launchers or something?
Sam: (chuckling) Wow, that's the first time I've heard that one!
