Ocean's Twelve coming up!:
It's official, Steven Soderbergh gaat in februari beginnen aan het vervolg op Ocean's Eleven. The gang is back (inclusief Clooney, Roberts, Garcia, Pitt) en deze keer plannen ze een grote overval in Engeland. Ocean's Twelve zal in December 2004 in de bioscopen verschijnen.

South Park meets Thunderbirds:
South Park creators Trey Parker en Matt Stone gaan werken aan Team America. De film is een persiflage op de golf superhelden films en de peperdure "Bruckheimer" actie films. Team America wordt geen tekenfilm maar de cast wordt vertolkt door, hou je vast, marionetten!
"Our cast will be deliberately made of wood, but that will only be taking to the extreme what is evident in many Hollywood movies right now," Variety quoted Matt Stone as saying about the movie. "What we wanted was to do a send-up of these super important huge action movies that Jerry Bruckheimer makes."
Ik weet zeker dat de R-rated Team America de live action versie van Thunderbirds zal verslaan! I love these guys, good luck!

Paycheck Pic Online!:
Entertainment Weekly heeft als eerste een official pic van John Woo's sci-fi film Paycheck. Ben Affleck speelt de hoofdrol en heeft het volgende te zeggen: "There isn't a lot of shooting or exploding; it's more about building suspense, It's a science fiction movie, but it's got an old-fashioned style in a weird way, with a John Woo touch, which makes it feel modern and slick and beautiful."

Aliens vs. Predator Script details:
IGN Filmforce heeft het script van Aliens vs. Predator in handen gekregen. Ik heb een gedeelte hieronder geplaatst, let wel op want het bevat mogelijke spoilers:
"Here's a short summary of what to expect from the film which has been revealed to take place in the present day - It seems that structures which pre-date the pyramid civilizations of Egypt and the Americas have been discovered far beneath the Antarctic icecap by satellites. So to explore this finding billionaire Weyland assembles a drill team, specialists in Aztec and Egyptian archaeology, and an environmental scientist. Once inside the pyramids, the group discover disturbing remains including piles of human skeletons with holes in the chest (from Alien "chest-bursters"), and fossilized Alien "face huggers", seems that the temple was either built or infested by Aliens in Earth's distant past. The script pages make no mention of the Predator. It seems that he may show up farther along in the movie. Considering the depth that must be drilled to reach the Aliens, the Predator may be a late arrival who uses the humans' own passage to the temple".
Dit kan een kick-ass film worden maar helaas gaat Paul Anderson de film maken. Andersons Event Horizon vond ik een aardige film, daarna kwam de no brainer Soldier en de teleurstellende Resident Evil. Keep your fingers crossed, movieXplosion readers maar ik vrees het ergste...

The Passion Trailer Description:
Coming Soon heeft een trailer omschrijving van The Passion. De film gaat over de laatste dagen van Jezus Christus en is gemaakt door Mel Gibson en cast bestaat uit o.a. Jim Caviezel en Monica Bellucci. Gibson heeft de hele film in het Latijns en Aramanisch opgenomen om het zo realistisch mogelijk te maken. Hieronder een gedeelte van de trailer description:
"There was no English spoken in the scenes shown and the actors were all speaking Latin and Aramaic. They showed the end of a nail being placed in Jesus' palm, pushed down, and then the hammer about to strike, but stopped short of actually showing the piercing. As I said, it looks really, really powerful. Now that I've seen the trailer, I'm in complete agreement that subtitles are unnecessary."

Jude Law in Amsterdam!:
Shakespeare in Love regisseur John Maddan gaat de romantische film Tulip Fever met Jude Law maken. De film wordt in Amsterdam(!) opgenomen en het verhaal speelt zich af in de zeventiende eeuw:
"The movie revolves around a young woman who marries a wealthy merchant to escape poverty. When she falls madly in love with a penniless artist who is hired to paint their portrait, the lovers try to raise money to escape together by investing what little they have in the high-stakes tulip market; at the time, certain flower bulbs changed hands for more than the price of houses."
Well, I live just half an hour away from Amsterdam so, Mr. Madden, please let me know when shooting begin so I can visit the set...

24/06/03 News Flash: - The Rock (Scorpion King) gaat misschien de rol vertolken van superheld Shazaam volgens Chud. - Regisseur Simon West (Con Air) wil het leven van schilder Salvador Dali op het grote doek brengen. Dali is een van mijn grote inspiratie bronnen geweest toen ik met de kwast in de hand meesterwerken aan het creëren was dus ben heel benieuwd hoe West dit gaat aanpakken! Thomas Jane talks Punisher:
Thomas Jane vertelde iets meer over zijn rol als The Punisher in een interview met About.com. Schijnt dat deze meneer niet echt een liefhebber is van superhelden comics maar The Punisher wekte toch zijn interesse:"No I wasn't a fan prior to because I didn't like superhero comics, but this guy is such an anti-hero that I've fallen in love with him. He's so dark and it's Marvel's darkest property, so I've fallen in love with the whole thing. And he's not a typical superhero because he doesn't have special powers. Right. He doesn't have super powers. He can't leap over tall buildings, he can't crawl up a wall, he's just really, really angry."
Gelukkig begrijpt Thomas de donkere kant van de anti-held, ik hoop echt dat de film een succes wordt maar ik heb nog steeds mijn twijfels...

Possible Episode III title:
Een titel voor Star Wars Episode III dwarrelde door cyberspace vandaag. Officiële bronnen hebben de titel nog niet bevestigd dus neem het niet al te serieus. Ben je er klaar voor? Hier komt ie:
"Star Wars Episode III: REVENGE OF THE SITH"
Kinda cool, right? Nogmaals, het is nog niet bevestigd, het zou net zo goed "The Revenge of Jar-Jar" kunnen zijn...

US Box Office June 20-22:
The Hulk stormde de top tien binnen, vernietigde zijn tegenstanders en kwam tot rust op de eerste plaats met $62,6 miljoen! Ik denk dat het groene monster voorlopig wel met rust gelaten wordt op deze plek. Disney's Finding Nemo blijft het nog steeds goed doen en bracht $20 miljoen op met een totaal van $227,943,000. Nieuwkomer Alex and Emma, een romantische komedie van Rob Reiner, maakte niet veel indruk en kwam niet verder dan de zevende plaats. De actie film The Italian Job met Mark Wahlberg en Edward Norton maakte wel een interessante sprong en verplaatste zich van de zevende naar de vijfde plaats!

Bill Paxton Talks Thunderbirds:
Bill Paxton vertelde iets over Thunderbirds tijdens een interview. Jonathan Frakes regisseert deze filmversie van de populiare poppenserie (waarschijnlijk gaat Frakes hierna beginnen aan Superman). Ik ben niet echt een grote fan van Frakes als regisseur, vond de Star Trek films niet geweldig en ik was ook niet echt een liefhebber van de Thunderbirds serie maar ik ben wel nieuwsgierig geworden na het lezen van het Bill Paxton interview:
"I've got one more day left on Thunderbirds,' Bill told us. 'It's going to be tremendous. You heard it from me first. Thunderbirds is about the International Rescue and The Hood and in a way it's got an innocent charm - great action and great scale and great characters. To me it has an old-fashioned, retro set of ethics - I feel like it's going to be embraced as a breath of fresh air as far as a big family movies go.
But when I say family friendly, I don't mean homogenised. This thing has got something for everyone and I mean that in a great filmmaking way. I think it's got to be a tour de force. It's great to see the five brothers running together and all that. It's got a lot of integrity, but it has an innocent charm that I haven't seen in films in a while."

21/06/03 Stallone Update: Sylvester Stallone sprak over zijn rol in Spy Kids 3 - Game Over: "This is a man who's having all these struggles in his own brain. I'm stretching the emotional rubber band. Part of him is The Dictator, this hellbent, military, crush-them-all guy. I do a little takeoff of George C. Scott, but perhaps under the influence of a gallon of espresso. One of them is The Scientist. And one of them is The Hippie, the peace-and-love and why-can't-we-get-along-and-let's-join- hands-and-we-are-the-world kind of guy. He's definitely a throwback to Haight Ashbury". Hiernaast vind je een foto van Stallone als de bad guy in de Spy Kids film! Stallone vertelde ook iets over over Rocky VI tijdens ESPN's Sportcenter: "Actually, (referring to the opponent), he's kind of in the same situation that Rocky was. Even though he's the champion, it's the same situation that Rocky was in in Rocky 1. Ashton Kutcher is Batman...:
Ashton Kutcher (Dude, Where is my car?) is door WB benaderd om Batman te spelen. De film wordt geregisseerd door Chris Nolan (Memento). Ik weet dat Nolan Guy Pearce wilde hebben voor de rol dus ik ben heel benieuwd waarom hij uiteindelijk Kutcher prefereerde, waarschijnlijk heeft Warner Brothers een flinke vinger in de Bat-pap. Dude, this news really sucks...! Ben je ook een beetje teleurgesteld? Misschien voel je je iets beter na het lezen van het volgende superhero nieuws; writer Mike France (The Hulk) gaat een script schrijven over Captain America in een verhaal dat zich afspeelt tijdens een derde wereld oorlog! Yeah, feeling a bit better now, dit project ziet er veelbelovend uit.

Punisher Teaser Online:
The Punisher teaser trailer is online, het is wel een hele korte en donkere maar de ruige gitaar solo's klinken prima. Ik heb nog wel mijn twijfels over deze produktie maar jullie kunnen hier zelf over oordelen door op het plaatje te klikken.
