Spielberg directs sci-fi flick!:
Steven Spielberg adds another project to his busy slate. Paramount and Spielberg will develop a space travel story about a group of explorers who travel through a worm hole and into another dimension. It won't be the next movie for the director, as it will take several years to come together. The project sounds very promising but I really hope he'll make that Indy flick first.

Newsflash:
No groundbreaking news today, but I've got some interesting tidbits for the newflash, enjoy!:
Big Daddy and Happy Gilmore helmer Dennis Dugan will also direct Adam Sandler's latest comedy I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. Sandler and Kevin James (Hitch) will play two straight firefighters who pose as a gay married couple. Could be a fun flick, right? Source: Production Weekly
The beautiful Roselyn Sanchez is The Rock's love interest in The Game Plan. The Rock plays a professional quarterback who discovers he has a 7-year-old daughter. Sanchez will also reprise her role as Isabella Molina and Jackie Chan's love interest in Rush Hour 3. Hopefully she'll also play the love interest of the editor of this site... Anthony Hopkins will direct an indie film noir comedy called Slipstream. The man's got an interesting line-up for his film about an actor and would-be screenwriter. The cast includes, here we go; John Turturro, Camryn Manheim, Jeffrey Tambor, S. Epatha Merkerson, Fionnula Flanagan, Christopher Lawford, Michael Clarke Duncan, Christian Slater, Stella Arroyave, Lisa Pepper, Kevin McCarthy, Gavin Grazer, Aaron Tucker and Lana Antonova! Henry Rollins and Steve Braun will star in Wrong Turn 2. The horror flick once again revolves around the happy family of hideously deformed, inbred cannibals. Would be cool if Stan Winston is back to do the make-up effects. Source: The Hollywood Reporter

Alien vs. Predator vs. new directors?:
The sequel to AVP is coming, this time with not one but two directors! Greg and Colin Strause will bring a new Alien vs. Predator adventure to the big screen... and I really hope they'll make it hardcore R-rated. Here's what Greg and Colin had to say:
"We really want to take it back to the original Alien and Predator films and make a serious, gritty horror film. We want to take it back to its roots, without losing sight of the human struggle. That's what made the originals so good."
I'll keep you guys posted.

Bryan Singer talks Superman Returns 3D!:
The IMAX version of Superman Returns will contain 20 minutes of Superman action in 3-D. "Fortunately, we shot the film with a Genesis camera, which is a digital system," director Bryan Singer explains, "So we have a much higher resolution. So it projects really well to IMAX. That's one benefit for IMAX. We're doing something else which is a little P.T. Barnum and a little funky. To the best of my knowledge it's still happening. I've been knee-deep in printing and mixing, but certain sequences will be in 3-D.
The idea is that Clark takes off his glasses, and you put yours on. Not in every sequence, but in a few sequences. They have this amazing system at IMAX. I was extremely blown away when they took some of my 2-D material and '3-D-ified' it using their process. And it was astonishing. I don't know how they did it. It's complex, a lot of man-hours involved and obviously a lot of computers, but with that combined with offering them up some of our visual-effects-separated material they'll be able to create a different experience for some of the sequences."
Superman Returns hits theaters on june 28.
