David Twohy talks Riddick sequels:
Regisseur David Twohy sprak met Scifi Wire
over zijn nieuwste film The Chronicles of Riddick! Deze Vin Diesel film is een vervolg op Pitch Black
en Twohy is van plan om nog meer vervolgen op Riddick te maken. Hij vertelde hoe hij de Studio zover
kreeg om de film (en eventueel twee andere delen) goed te keuren, Twohy heeft het op een hele originele manier gedaan, lees snel verder:
"They didn't sign me to do three. They didn't sign [the actors] to do three. ... What we have said-[producer and star] Vin [Diesel] and I- ... is that we have thought about the characters and plotted the characters for three Chronicles. ... And so we know in our heads where we are going. And we've talked to the other [actors] about where their characters would be going in future installments of the film.
The second Chronicles of Riddick movie will pick up the story the minute after this one ends. And I'll tell you how we sold it to the studio, how we got them enamored of the idea of three films, because at first they weren't. ... When I turned in the first draft of the script, I had leather binders made up that said The Chronicles of Riddick. ... And I put the executive's name stamped in gold down in the right hand corner, and I put a lock on it. And a week before I turned in the script I sent them the key. And the key said, 'This is the key that will open the doors to untold myth and riches' or something like that.
And so they had the key for a week. ... 'What the hell does this go to?' And then I sent them the covers, and they got it on the weekend. They had to stick their key in, turn the key, open up the script. And then in the first story meeting I had other volumes made for C2 and C3. And I just sat them down on the desk. And they were talking about the first script, and they're looking at it. 'Boy, can we read those?' I said, 'Nope. No key. You don't have the key.'"
Geweldig verhaal, hè? The Chronicles of Riddick draait vanaf vrijdag in de Amerikaanse bioscopen, wij
moeten helaas nog twee maanden wachten.

Does it suck for an actor when the monsters are the star?
You know, monsters couldn't be in the movies by themselves. They need humans. Some sacrificial lambs. I mean, the first day I arrived on the set, we did a camera test. There was this gigantic shadow came over me, and I turned around and I looked up. It's like an eight foot huge predator, cool hairdo and some insanely cool gadgets and weaponry. It was spectacular.
What was your first meeting with Paul W.S. Anderson like?
Well, I worked with Paul on Soldier as well, so he put me up for it. I tested a couple times at Fox for it and then he called me and said, "You're going to get an offer." I think what's great about this is it's been Paul Anderson's dream to make this movie since he was a teenager. What better than to have somebody whose dream it is to do this movie actually direct it? I think he managed to pay homage to both franchises and I think both die hard fans and grassroot fans alike are going to be in for a treat.

regisseerde deze clash of the titans en de cast bestaat uit Sanaa Lathan, Raoul Bova, Ewen Bremner, ik weet het, ik ken ze
ook niet maar deze naam doet wel een belletje rinkelen, Lance Henriksen! Precies, Bishop himself speelt ook weer mee.

Bob Sapp's film debut:
K-1 lovers, waaronder ik, zullen dit een leuk nieuwtje vinden, kickbox-reus Bob Sapp met inmens grote biceps (maar een glazen kin)
zal zijn filmdebuut maken in de Daredevill spin-off Elektra! Sapp zal de rol van "Stone" spelen,
een moordenaar met een huid van steen. Jennifer Garner en Goran Visnjic spelen de hoofdrollen. Rob Bowman regisseert.

First Spider-man 2 review!:
De allereerste recensie van Spider-man 2 is online verschenen op de site van AICN.
Moriarty is zeer positief over de film, "I fucking loved this movie from end to end, and I think it has just raised the bar again for what we should expect from Marvel Films. More importantly, Sam Raimi has proven himself to be not just a damn fine commercial filmmaker, but has also finally managed to make a mainstream movie that is 100% Sam Raimi."

I'm your worst nightmare...:
Movie Hole heeft weer een Rambo IV update.
Pak je wapens maar, guys, want Rambo moet misschien weer in actie komen:
"Well here is an update as to who Kassar, Vajna and the Weinsteins want to helm this new Rambo film. According to a source of mine, the names on the top of the directors list are F. Gary Gray (The Negotiator), John McTiernan (Die Hard) and Martin Campbell (The Mask of Zorro).
The rumored plot for the next Rambo film is that nuclear weapons are lost and Rambo is called in to lead a team to locate the weapons of mass destruction before...BOOM!!! There is an even bigger plot behind all this.
The film is tentative to go into production next summer for a release in Summer 2006. The budget they are aiming for is 75-90 million and that takes into account the rumored 30 million that Kassar, Vajna and the Weinsteins plan on paying Sly to play Rambo again. Kassar & Vajna of C2 will pay Sly 15 million and Bob & Harvey Weinstein of Miramax/Dimension Films will pay Sly the other 15 million to make up the massive 30 million payday. Only fellow action hero governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has ever gotten so much money for a single film!"

Ik heb weer een paar leuke headlines om de week goed te beginnen:
De trailer van Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events is nu online! Jim Carrey speelt de rol van de eigenaardige Count Olaf.
Een derde trailer van Alex Proyas' scifi-action-flick I, Robot is nu online! Klik hier om Will Smith in actie te zien.
And the winners of The MTV Movie Awards 2004 are... well, de winnaar voor The Best Kiss is naar Starsky & Hutch gegaan, je weet wel, die Owen Wilson & Carmen Electra & Amy Smart threesome kiss, yeah baby! Kirsten Dunst verscheen ook op het podium met Spider-man himself... maar the man behind the mask was niemand minder dan Ellen DeGeneres! De show is binnenkort op MTV te zien. Jake "Donnie Darko" Gyllenhaal is Superman... volgens Star Magazine. Andere bronnen vermelden dat Henry Cavill de Man van Staal zal spelen. Ik weet het niet meer en het kan me ook niet meer zoveel schelen, ik vind beide acteurs niet geschikt voor de rol.
Monkey Peaches heeft een John Woo update, het schijnt dat de Chinese regisseur een vervolg wilt maken op Face/Off. John Travolta en Nicolas Cage speelden de hoofdrol in deze film uit 1997. Woo heeft het druk want eerder werd bekend dat hij ook The Rock's Spy Hunter and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six gaat regisseren.

U.S. Box Office June 04-06:
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was de grote winnaar afgelopen weekend (zoals verwacht).
De film bracht tijdens de opening meer op dan de vorige twee Potter films en staat nu geboekt als derde grootste weekend opening aller tijden
(vlak achter Spider-man en Shrek 2). Goed werk Potter maar bereid je vast voor
op een flinke knokpartij, want a.s. vrijdag dendert The Chronicles of Riddick door de Amerikaanse bioscopen!

Reggy's Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Review!!!:
De vorige twee delen van Harry Potter konden mij niet echt boeien, het derde deel is een stuk interessanter
geworden door regisseur Alfonso Cuarón. Het was een gewaagde keuze van Chris Columbus om het roer over te dragen

Terminator 4 and Terminator 5 coming soon???:
Alright, neem dit met een grote korrel zout, het zal ongetwijfeld niet waar zijn maar ik ga het toch op de site plaatsen... want het zou fantastisch zijn als dit gaat gebeuren.
Een medewerker van C2 Pictures heeft contact opgenomen met Moviehole en vertelde iets over twee Terminator vervolgen. Drie maal raden wie één deel gaat regisseren:
"Terminator 4" - and semi-surprisingly, "Terminator 5" - as a bit of a follow-up to the comments The Rock makes this month about doing a two-hander with Schwarzenegger. Seems there is a possibility of that happening.
'Anonymous' says "T4 will not be the last Terminator film. In fact, Mario Kassar and Andrew Vajna have already signed Jonathan Mostow to write and direct Terminator 4 and will try to woe James Cameron himself for the last film in the Terminator franchise, Terminator 5. Afterall, Mr. Cameron loves a great sequel and Mario and Andy are going to make him an offer he can't refuse".
And is there any truth to the rumours that The Rock's going to appear in one of them? "The Rock wants to star in Terminator 4 only if Schwarzenegger is in the film."
James freakin' Cameron??? And they're going to make him an offer he can't refuse??? Ben benieuwd maar ik denk dat allen Don Corleone hem zou kunnen overhalen!

Moviefone heeft de nieuwe trailer van Martin Scorsese's The Aviator! De film vertelt het verhaal van de beroemde Amerikaan Howard Hughes en wordt gespeeld door Leonardo DiCaprio. De rest van de allstar cast bestaat uit Cate Blanchett, Kate Beckinsale, John C. Reilly, Alec Baldwin en Jude Law. Klik op Leonardo om de trailer te downloaden.

Sam Raimi talks Spider-man 2:
Spider-man regisseur Sam Raimi heeft een babbeltje gemaakt met Scifi Wire.
Hij liet weten dat hij meer dan één bad guy voor Spider-man 2 wilde gebruiken maar uiteindelijk werd het alleen maar Doc Ock:
"Well, there were a lot of different iterations of the story, and at times there was more than one villain, and at times there were more than two villains. But it all came down to trying to focus on what I felt was the strongest aspect of the film and diminishing everything else so that it could live.
The strongest aspect of the film is Peter Parker [Maguire] and his journey to becoming a responsible young man. So after we had one villain to test his mettle against and to be in conflict with Spider-Man, I found that there were diminishing returns for the second and third villains, since our real story was an interior story, this journey to be a human hero, how Peter Parker battles the problems of being a hero, how he copes. The more villains that we added into the mix didn't seem to make the story richer and stronger. It seemed to diminish [it], in fact."
