James Marsden talks Superman Returns!:
Heb veel superhero nieuws om de week goed af te sluiten, volgende update is in het weekend!
Laten we beginnen met een Superman Returns update. James "Cyclops" Marsden vertelt meer over zijn rol als Lois Lane's nieuwe vriend, Richard White:
"Superman's gone for a while. He comes back to find, in Bryan Singer's words, Lois Lane with somebody who's very Superman-esque. There's a lot of similarities, so Lois Lane is engaged to this guy. They have a child together. It is emotionally a challenge for Superman to come back and see, I think because Lois has moved on with her life and she's with somebody else."

op de Eiffel Toren om ze te bekijken. Batman Begins cast bestaat uit Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, Ken Watanabe, Katie Holmes, Cillian Murphy, Tom Wilkinson en Rutger Hauer.
De film draait vanaf volgende week in de bios!

Brett Ratner talks X3!:
Regisseur Matthew Vaughn heeft vorige week X-Men 3 verlaten en wordt vervangen door hot shot director Brett Ratner. De nieuwe regisseur vertelde het volgende:
"It's not going to be easy taking over the seemingly cursed reins of X-Men 3. They called me and they said 'We're interested in you for X3,' I said, 'Yeah, great, I wanted to do the first one originally.'
I don't think this movie is tainted; I think it is fantastic and the script is amazing. I want to stay true to the franchise and true to the characters, but I think it's elevated ... I don't want to be pompous and say I'm going to take it to the next level. I think the script that Simon Kinberg and Zak Penn wrote gives me a tremendous amount of confidence."

Van Damme zal de rol van de Romeinse atleet Cornedurus vertolken, Gerard Depardieu is terug als Obélix en Alain Delon speelt Julius Ceasar. Wat is er gebeurd met Van Damme's comeback film Kumite?
Michelle Yeoh, Cillian Murphy en Chris Evans zijn te zien in Danny Boyle's sci-fi film Sunshine. Het verhaal gaat over een groep astronauten die een vermiste crew moeten opsporen. Source: Variety
The official site van de filmversie van de hit musical Rent is nu online. Chris Columbus regisseert, cast bestaat uit Rosario Dawson, Taye Diggs, Wilson Jermaine Heredia en Jesse L. Martin. De trailer is overigens hier te zien.
Nieuwe foto's van Land of the Dead hebben internet overgenomen. De horrorfilm is geregisseerd door Zombie Meister George A. Romero en de rollen worden vertolkt door Simon Baker, John Leguizamo en Dennis Hopper. Klik voor meer... als je durft!

Nicolas Cage en Will Smith dagen elkaar uit in de komedie Time Share. De mega sterren gaan de film ook produceren. Source: Variety

Vaughn out, Ratner in!:
It's official, guys, Brett "Rush Hour" Ratner is de nieuwe regisseur van X-Men 3! Vorige week werd bekend
gemaakt dat regisseur Matthew Vaughn het project verliet wegens "personal issues". Ik heb gemengde gevoelens,
Ratner zal ongetwijfeld een gladde, visueel aantrekkelijke X-Men film maken maar ik weet niet
of hij ook het character-driven script aankan. Vaughn vond ik overigens ook geen goede keuze als regisseur van X-Men 3, hij heeft te weinig ervaring met big budget Hollywood producties. Kortom, Brett Ratner krijgt mijn voordeel van de
twijfel, komt allemaal vast wel goed, denk je niet?
X-Men 3 begint in augustus met filmen. De cast van de vorige delen is weer terug, nieuwe rollen worden vertolkt door Kelsey Grammer (Beast), Vinnie Jones (Juggernaut) en Maggie Grace (Kitty Pryde).

Christian Bale talks Batman!:
Na Adam West, Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer en George Clooney is nu Christian Bale te zien als de Caped Crusader in Batman Begins.
De acteur kijkt terug op de vorige Batman films, hij vertelt het volgende:
"I don't feel like Batman's ever really been defined in any portrayal, so I felt like this was an opportunity to finally do that, in regards to way that Bob Kane originally intended it when he wrote it in 1939. He intended it as being a dark and terrifying and intimidating character. It's kind of ended up being spoofed more. And then there's great material in the newer graphic novels of Frank Miller and Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale. So the source material is right there, and I just don't think it was ever taken advantage of until now."
Bale is ook van plan om meer Batman films te maken, hij vertelt waarom:
"With Superman, you can really look at Christopher Reeve and the way that he played it, and he's become the defining Superman. Whoever's playing him in the next one has got a really tough job to come up against him. I don't feel like that ever happened with Batman before, so I felt like I had an opportunity to expand and bring something new to it."
Fantastisch, Bale will rock as Batman! De nieuwe Batman film draait volgende week in de Nederlandse bioscopen!

U.S. Box Office June 03-05:
Revenge of the Sith daalde naar een derde positie maar wist toch $26 miljoen te verdienen. De film heeft in slechts 17 dagen een totale record-breaking opbrengst van 308.8 miljoen dollars!
De computer animatie Madagascar klom in de tweede week naar de top gevolgd door Adam Sandler's The Longest Yard. Here's the rest of the Top Ten:

Terry Gilliam talks Brothers Grimm:
Regisseur Terry Gilliam sprak over Matt Damon en Heath Ledger die de hoofdrol spelen in zijn nieuwe fantasy film The Brothers Grimm:
"Matt and Heath are totally convincing as brothers. They got on incredibly well, and hit it off. I didn't have to control them on set. They do all the work - I just have to nod occasionally, and pretend to know what I'm doing (laughs).
I basically cast them against type. Heath could be the cool, romantic lead, and Matt the introspective one, but I had it as the opposite. Matt plays the womanizer and hustler, and Heath plays the sensitive, romantic, neurotic character. It was really nice to watch them being completely different than they normally are."
Eindelijk weer een nieuwe film van Terry Gilliam! De regisseur heeft zijn andere film Tideland ook afgerond en zal later dit jaar worden uitgebracht.

Camilla Belle speelt de hoofdrol in de remake van When a Stranger Calls. Tomb Raider's Simon West regisseert de film dat gebaseerd is op cult horrorfilm uit 1979. Source: Variety
Eric Stoltz en Catherine Bell zijn te zien in de zesdelige miniserie The Triangle. De serie van de Amerikaanse Sci Fi Channel wordt geproduceerd door Dean Devlin en Bryan Singer.
