John Woo update:
Hi guys, helaas heb ik geen grote newsheadline gevonden om de week af te sluiten, het is de hele week al zo
rustig in Hollywood. Maar ik heb wel net Harry Potter gezien en ik vond hem beter dan de vorige twee films.
Ik probeer dit weekend mijn recensie en ook nieuw tekenwerk te plaatsen.
Alrighty then, wat voor 'n update heb ik wel gevonden? Some good ol' John Woo news! The Hong Kong action meister
gaat Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six regisseren, volgens Variety!
Betekent dit dat Woo dus niet The Rock's nieuwe film Spy Hunter zal maken? Hmmm.... Ik zie John Woo
liever achter de camera bij Mission: Impossible 3. Have a good weekend!

Diesel talks Riddick!:
Vin Diesel sprak met Scifi Wire over zijn nieuwste actie spektakel The Chronicles of Riddick:
"Although we've had Star Wars and we've had Lord of the Rings and we've had these great mythologies, we haven't had a mythology that has a central character, a protagonist, that is as complex as Riddick. I don't think Riddick is a character who doesn't really know his history and is discovering that, and we discover it with him, and he's as shocked as we are.
We're successful in making a film that satisfies on multiple levels. If you are going to the film to enjoy your Friday night, to go see an epic full-scale picture, ... it's rewarding on a very simple level... But if you are going to The Chronicles of Riddick to kind of be introduced to the mythology and to explore this universe, then it's also gratifying."
David Twohy regisseerde de film, de rest van de cast bestaat uit Judi Dench, Thandie Newton en Karl Urban. The Chronicles of Riddick draait vanaf 11 juni in de
Amerikaanse bioscopen, wij moeten helaas nog twee maanden wachten... man, that sucks!

Newsflash:
 De nieuwe trailer van The Polar Express is nu online. De animatiefilm is geregisseerd door Robert Zemeckis en Tom Hanks verzorgt de stemmen. Klik hier om de mooie trailer te downloaden.
David Mamet gaat de film Joan of Bark: the Dog that Saved France regisseren. De titel is voor mij reden genoeg om de film te gaan zien! Will Ferrell (Old School) speelt de hoofdrol in deze satire. Source: Variety
Een mooie nieuwe poster van The Bourne Supremacy is nu online. De cast van de spy thriller bestaat uit Matt Damon, Franka Potente, Brian Cox en Julia Stiles. Klik op de pic voor een grote versie.
Blackfilm heeft een mooie foto van Jamie Foxx als Ray Charles geplaatst! Kerry Washington en Regina King spelen ook mee, Taylor Hackford heeft de biopic Ray verfilmd. Klik op de pic voor een grote versie.

U.S. Box Office May 28-30:
Shrek 2 staat voor een tweede week op nummer 1 in de Amerikaanse box office. De animatiefilm
wist $73 miljoen binnen te halen dit weekend en heeft een totale opbrengst van $238 miljoen!!!
Nieuwkomer The Day After Tomorrow kwam weliswaar op de tweede plaats binnen maar opende ook sterk
met $70 miljoen. Deze week moet het groene monster en moeder natuur het opnemen tegen een jonge tovenaar genaamd
Harry Potter. Spannend....

The Longest Yard update:
Regisseur Peter Segal sprak over The Longest Yard remake. Burt Reynold speelde de hoofdrol in de originele
versie, Adam Sandler en Chris Rock spelen in deze versie mee.
Sandler is hard aan het trainen met Football coaches om zich voor te bereiden op de rol, dit betekent ook dat de film
zich meer zal richten op veel actie i.p.v komedie zoals we dat gewend zijn van Adam Sandler. Pete vertelde het volgende:
"I felt much better about it when I realized it was 1974, 30 years ago. And again, that’s why ironically there are 30-year-old people who have never heard of it. I certainly wouldn’t want to make a movie that was done in the late ‘80s. Some people have. Heaven Can Wait which was less than 30 years old, was basically remade a couple years ago. It’s a choice one makes but I certainly think you’re in safer territory the further away you are from the original.
Adam Sandler’s currently working out with Sean Salsbury, a 14-year NFL veteran quarterback. He’s training with him. We actually have a pretty intense basketball sequence in the movie. He’s working on that. And we’re writing into the story that he’s six years out of the pros, so a little rustiness is actually good for the character, but he is working on his skills right now very seriously."

Producer talks Catwoman:
Blackfilm heeft een interessant gesprek gehad met Catwoman producer Edward L. McDonnell. In de
film speelt Halle Berry de rol van een onzekere vrouw die verandert in een katachtige heldin. De rest van de cast
bestaat uit Benjamin Bratt en de bad guy wordt gespeeld door niemand minder dan... Sharon Stone! McDonnell vertelt
het volgende over het kostuum en de acteurs:
Let's talk about the biggest buzz surrounding the film, and that is the costume. How did you come to choose that outfit?
EM: I think it was a very organic development of the costume given what we were going to have this character do in this movie. She starts off with a straight forward outfit that accommodates to the mood she needs to make in the movie.
What other designs were being considered before settling with the one you have in the film?
EM: They were very similar. It's about freedom of movement and I think it was metaphorically speaking; it was freedom in this woman. This woman is discovering a new sense of freedom and I think that is what the costume sort of articulates. She moves, she jumps, and she has the motions of movement of the cat
From the clips I have seen on TV, there's a fight scene between Halle's and Sharon Stone's character. How real is it?
EM: It's very real. They went through enormous amounts of training for it, but I do tink that I'm not going to tell you that there aren't stunt people in it, but there's no body doubles in it. I won't put Halle in a situation that might harm her. There are professionals who can do some stuff than any other actor could. The actors would agree to that as well. You're often obligated to use them. In terms of a body double, no, but stunt double, absolutely. The training period was 8-10 weeks over the course of the movie.

De poster van de drama/thriller Open Water is online. Het verhaal gaat over een echtpaar dat per ongeluk wordt
achtergelaten tijdens een snorkel uitje.
De tweede poster van vandaag is er één van Tom Cruises' thriller Collateral. Deze keer siert
Jamie Foxx de poster i.p.v. Cruise. De film is geregisseerd door Michael "Heat" Mann en zal in het najaar in de
bioscoop verschijnen.
