05/06/03 Reggy's 28 Days Later Review: Danny Boyle's 28 Days Later, one nasty zombie flick or just as disappointing as The Beach? Read Reggy's movie review, click on the pic! ![]() 05/06/03 Warner Bros websites: Two official moviesites are on line, one is Tom Cruise's The Last Samurai, including a nice looking animation about the seven rules of the Samurai. 05/06/03 Jim Carrey's next: Jim Carrey's next project will be Fun With Dick and Jane. Men in Black director Barry Sonnenfeld is helming the pic. The movie is a remake (doesn't anyone write original stuff anymore?) and the story is about a married couple (played by Jane Fonda and George Segal) who robs drugstores after the husband loses his job. Source: Variety 05/06/03 Ang Lee interview: SHH interviewed The Hulk director Ang Lee and he explained the multi-screen comic page shots he used in his film: "From the very beginning, before I wrote the script, I started testing it with my editor and we always work together. I didn't carry it out as much as I wanted, so the team's been telling me that at this point, people my not get used to it if it's in a very dramatic context, it might take you out, could be distracting. So after a while, I didn't go as far as I wanted to, but we did do a lot. I don't want to call it split screen. It's more like multi-image, choreographed multi-panels imitating comic book. When you open up, there's a a structure, an art design to it. You pick and choose your own ways. The movie is ongoing. It has a linear structure of its own, so I have to choreograph it, unlike the comic book, for your cinematic eyes." He also spoke about the multiple views of the same character: "Usually you have to cut around it, and that's artificial. This is just as artificial. I think it's different, it's very fresh. It's like Picasso, although I suspect he tried to imitate movies. But now we imitate him. As a cinema person, it's all very interesting to me." Man, love to see this new take on editing, click here to read the rest of the interview. 05/06/03 Movie Collectibles: I ran into a nice shop in Scheveningen called Acme Movie Store, a store with awesome movie collectibles! Arnold Schwarzenegger is also involved though it's not certain which part he's playing, could be the role of the killer robot (Yul Brynner's role) but he'll probably play one of the Westworld guests. McG is "this close" to sign the contract. "The cards are on the table. It's a big commitment, and we just want to make sure we're all on the right page." He also revealed that he has a wish list of actors for Supes: "I have three choices for the role, but I can't share them yet." Are they all household names? "Not necessarily," McG replied. "I feel like we're living in a time where a big movie like that, you've got to service the movie first. The movie is the star when it's a character like that, and it's important to get the right character." Folks, let's hope the job goes to McG and not Jonathan Frakes. Designer Ian McCaig spoke to the Official Star Wars site and talked about Anakin moving to the Dark Side: "In Episode I, when we saw Jake Lloyd, we wondered where's the dark side? Why isn't this kid creepy? And then, in Episode II, Hayden Christensen came across as a justifiably angry teenager more than a kid who crosses over to the true dark side. Killing the Sand People... they killed his mom! I could go mad and do something like that. So, I kept waiting for the dark side to take hold. In this film [Episode III], you realize, it's more about Anakin making the wrong choices. He's given a glorious moment by George - I'm so happy with part of the script - where he truly has to make a choice. In the end, I think that's a smarter way to go than a slow transformation. It's more tragic this way." 31/05/03 Awesome Hulk Pics: Superhero Hype posted some awesome Hulk scans from Entertainment Weekly magazine.
