Starship Troopers 2:
SPFX guru Phil Tippett is making his directorial debut with Starship Troopers 2, Paul Verhoeven is not involved unfortunately. Dark Horizons posted a interesting set report: "It takes place 5 years after the first movie, the opening scenes are of the propaganda commercial stating why you should join the Federation Troopers, lots of scenes of Troopers running and then a scene that is a copy of the Iowa Shima Flag Lifting. Immediately cuts to p lanet Zulu where the troopers are surrounded on a cliff by bugs and they are blasting away and are told to retreat. Nearly ¾ of the troopers are killed as they retreat towards an abandoned military base. They arrive at the base and get no response from the Federation when they ask for evacuation and pick up, meaning they are stranded there. There is also a subplot that the bugs have engendered a virus that infects some of the troopers and the bugs are trying to get the infection to go all the way up to the heads of the Federation. This virus turns it's victims into Zombies of sorts".
Sounds great but the movie will be a straight to video production.

New Hulk pics!:
SF Gate had a nice chat with Hulk director Ang Lee. The director liked working with ILM who created the Hulk with CGI: "This is the best part of making the movie, I think -- making the movie at ILM. It was pretty much a contrast to what I expected it to be," Lee said. "They call it Industrial Light & Magic, but there's no feeling of industry. It feels totally handcraft. Every individual artist who works on the shots -- it's very hands on."
SF Gate also posted three awesome Hulkster pics! You can see two om my site and hit this link to read the full interview and see another pic.

Will the Superman director please stand up:
Got some Superman news for ya. Superhero Hype reports there are three possible directors for the movie. Jonathan Frakes (as you already knew), Kevin Reynolds (Robin Hood, Waterworld) and Stephen Hopkins (Predator 2, 24). I think Hopkins would be the best choise, but I rather see Michael Bay or James Cameron...
