Newsflash:
Het is een beetje rustig in tinseltown maar ik heb toch een paar interessante headlines weten te vinden voor de newsflash:
 Dennis Hopper gaat weer na tien jaar regisseren. De film heet A Night in Old Mexico en Robert Duvall speelt de rol van een oude man die met zijn kleinzoon reist naar Mexico. Source: The Hollywood Reporter
De eerste teaser trailer van Catwoman is nu online. De cast bestaat uit Halle Berry, Benjamin Bratt en Sharon Stone. De fransman Pitof regisseert. Klik op de pic om de trailer te zien.

Eric Bana talks Troy:
Eric "The Hulk" Bana sprak met Movie Hole over
de actie spektakel Troy. De rest van cast bestaat uit Brad Pitt, Orlando Bloom en Wofgang Petersen regisseert.

Q: What about the physicality of this? How much preparation was there?
There was a lot. I was fortunate enough to be cast very early. It was around September so I had many months of preparation back home in Australia before I left to go to London. It wasn't so much the working out, because I'm pretty active any way, but it was the specific nature of the training itself. The many, many months of sword training and many months of horseback riding and that sort of stuff.
Q: Can you elaborate on your regiment?
Just staying healthy. It wasn't so much gym work. It was learning the skills that needed to be learned. Yeah, we needed to be in shape, but I always figured that was kind of an aside to the other things that needed to be done, because if you weren't on top of it, you were either going to fall off a horse and hurt yourself or you were going to get whacked with a sword.
Q: How much of your action scene with Brad was you guys? Because it really did look like it was all you.
It was all us. There were no stunt doubles in the movie with Brad and me. The Choreography was really extensive. We had the best people teaching us from varied backgrounds and disciplines, and they were really determined to come up with a fighting style that was recognizable, that was going to be a little different from everything we'd seen before, so if you had a really good look at the fights, just about every single move is a death move . . . every time you make a movie, it is a lunge to kill or it's a set-up move for the next move, which is not usually the case. So it required a lot of training and a lot of choreography and, for instance, the fight between Brad and me, we started learning the actual fight? Well, the day I got to London I started that, so that was in March, and we shot it in December.
Q: Who's the better fighter, you or Brad?
I'll leave that up to you.

Alfred Molina talks Spider-man 2:
Alfred Molina nam even de tijd om met Coming Soon te
kletsen over zijn rol als Doc Ock in Spider-man 2. Here's a fun clip:
CS!: Is it challenging to go from a big budget special effects movie like Spider-Man 2 to doing a Broadway musical?
Molina: The work is essentially the same. It's a different set of circumstance, a different media and discipline, but it's a bit like being a plumber. One day you're putting in one of those real fancy schmancy shower units, and the next day you've got your hand down a toilet clearing out sh*t. It's the same job, and the tools are coming out of the same box. The circumstances are different, but the job-acting, entertaining-is essentially the same. It's bringing yourself to something and hopefully, giving people as pleasant an experience as possible.
CS!: So how does it feel to be playing Doctor Octopus, such a popular Spider-Man villain?
Molina: I'm aware of how important he is in the iconography of that particular universe. I've spoken to a lot of fans of the Spider-Man comics, and they say that he's revered as a character, because he's such a famous villain. I was always aware that there was a great deal of expectation awaiting this movie, and as with every transfer from one media to another, when you make a movie version of anything whether it's a comic book or a play, you can't be concerned about just making a direct copy of that original thing. You have to change it somewhat. You have to make it new. Doc Ock in our movie doesn't look the same as the Doc Ock in the comic book. And if you want to know how, you're just going to have to put down your ten bucks and find out.

Tobey talks Spider-man...3!:
Comics Continuum sprak met Tobey Maguire over
Spider-man 2! Tobey en regisseur Sam Raimi zijn ook van plan om een derde deel te maken:
"Yeah. I think we're doing it. I've actually seen a graph of the timeline of when we're supposedly have to have everything -- the script being written at this time, pre-production, production and release date. They already have it all planned out. And Sam has given me a version of what he is thinking for the third movie. And I can tell you guys the whole storyline now. (laughs). Who's the villain? I won't say anything. When I read the comics books, Doc Ock was always my favorite villain for the movies. I also like Sandman. I'd think he'd be a really cool villain."

U.S. Box Office April 30 - May 02:
De eerste "sleeper hit" is gesignaleerd. Afgelopen weekend kwam geheel onverwacht de komedie Mean Girls
op nummer 1 binnen. De film zonder beroemde acteurs versloeg Pierce Brosnan's komedie Laws of Attraction, De Niro's thriller Godsend
en Ben Stiller's Envy. De nummer 1 van vorige week, Denzel Washington's Man on Fire,
moest ook een stapje opzij doen maar wist nog de "bucks" binnen te halen dankzij een tweede plaats. En deze week, jongens en meisjes,
opent Van Helsing het Zomer Film Seizoen 2004, woohooo!!!
