Benicio Del Toro, Forest Whitaker, Michelle Williams, Catherine O'Hara, Tom Noonan en Michael Berry spelen in de fantasyfilm Where the Wild Things Are. Spike Jonze regisseert de film dat een combinatie wordt van live-action, animation en puppetry.
Chris Tucker en Jackie Chan zijn terug! De productie van Rush Hour 3 begint in het najaar met een releasedate in 2007. Brett Ratner is ook terug om de actie-komedie te regisseren. Source: Variety

Jon Favreau talks Iron Man:
Regisseur Jon Favreau sprak over zijn superheldenfilm Iron Man:
"I want to see a lot of stuff blowing up. That's part of it. I've always been a big fan of RoboCop. And using today's technology to create a hero that has that kind of, you know, magnitude could be a lot of fun. There's also a whole geopolitical aspect of it that you you don't really see with other superheroes. And the politics are a little more complicated. So it deals with a lot of issues. I hope that we could, on the one hand, make it an enjoyable movie, and on the other hand, explore certain subject matter that you wouldn't normally see in a comic-book movie."

Michel Gondry, regisseur van de fascinerende film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, begint binnenkort aan een komedie met de titel Be Kind Rewind. The one and only Jack Black zal de hoofdrol spelen van een man die door een incident magnetisch wordt en per ongeluk alle videobanden wist van een videotheek. Source: Variety

Nope, het is niet een vervolg op die Russische flick of een kinky film, maar het verhaal gaat over het schilderen van Rembrandt's meesterwerk De Nachtwacht. een aantal stukken van John Williams score uit 1978, waaronder 'Superman March', 'Krypton Theme' en 'Lois Lane Theme'. Daarnaast

CHiPs is coming!:
That '70s Show's Wilmer Valderrama is Ponch in de filmversie van ehmm... that '70s Show CHiPs!
Eric Estrada met de parelwitte tandjes speelde in de serie de rol van Ponch, Valderrama geeft een update:
"We start shooting this summer. Trust me, there was one superhero I wanted to play, it's Ponch. He's the man, dude. So it's actually very flattering. The studio, Warner Brothers, have taken me in as one of their own and I'm doing a bunch of pictures with them, this being one of them, CHiPs is the other one. It's exciting because we're really keeping in mind all the mistakes that every other remake has made, and not going to make them in this one.
We're really going to do it right. It's an action-comedy but the comedy comes from the chemistry, the comedy comes from a very organic place. We don't want it to be funny gags or funny costumes because, to be honest, in doing the research for this movie, we realized CHiPs worldwide is still a huge phenomenon and a huge drama for the fans."

U.S. Box Office Apr 28-30:
Robin Williams' road comedy RV reed helemaal naar de top spot met 16 miljoen dollars!
Paul Greengrass' 9/11 drama United 93 bereikte de tweede plaats met 11 miljoen dollars. Een gedeelte van de opbrengst gaat naar de Flight 93 National Memorial in Pennsylvania.

Mega Marvel update!:
Hi guys, vandaag veel superhero nieuws! Laten we beginnen met een overzicht van Marvel's eerste independently-produced films.
De comicbook gigant heeft sinds kort een eigen filmmaatschappij, check out de projects in development:
Jon Favreau gaat de filmversie van Iron Man regisseren. De acteur-regisseur maakte eerder de kersthit Elf met Will Ferrell.
Zak Penn mag het script schrijven voor een vervolg op de Hulk. Hij schreef ook scripts van andere Marvel films; X2, Fantastic Four en X-Men: The Last Stand.
Writer-director Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead) heeft de taak gekregen om Ant Man te verfilmen.
David Self werkt aan het script van Captain America. Self is ook verantwoordelijk voor de politieke thriller Thirteen Days en de geweldige Road to Perdition.
Air Force One, End of Days en Hollow Man screenwriter Andrew Marlowe mag worstelen met super-soldaat Nick Fury.
Thor krijgt ook een eigen film dat door screenwriter Mark Protosevich wordt geschreven. Protosevich schreef o.a. het script van Poseidon en The Cell.
Wow, Marvel Studios heeft dus grote plannen en pakt het goed aan met getalenteerde writers and directors! I'll keep you posted!

Brett Ratner talks X-Men: The Last Stand:
Mutant-director Brett Ratner onthuldt dat X-Men: The Last Stand veel grote actie scènes bevat.
De regisseur moet nog steeds bijkomen na het zien van de special effects, here's a clip:
"The megamovie moment is in the trailer, and that's ripping the Golden Gate Bridge out of the ground and moving it. That's a mega-mega-mega-movie moment. Even I'm blown away when I see it. The pieces that it took, that we shot, to get that to work-from the plates to the sky shots to the making of the bridge in miniature to CG enhancements to real elements of people running-it was insane. There must be 20 different elements to make one shot of the bridge look real. So as far as technology is concerned that's a major mega-moment in cinema. I'm telling you, my mouth drops when I see the final shots."
X-Men: The Last Stand gaat volgende maand in première!

Jason Statham talks Transporter 3:
De Transporter films gaan helemaal nergens over maar toch kijk ik er graag naar... goed voorbeeld dus van quilty pleasure flicks! The man himself, Jason Statham,
vertelde dat een derde film niet wordt uitgesloten:
"People keep saying "when are you gonna do another one?" Luc (Besson) wants to do another one; I want to work with Luc. You don't want to give people too much of one thing, you know you eat ice cream every day, you're gonna get bored of it. But Luc said he's got an amazing idea for part three, so if it's a great story... in my eyes we can improve on the last one so much."
