Newsflash:
Hi guys, gisteren was er geen interessant filmnieuws maar vandaag staan de sites weer bomvol met geweldige headlines... daar gaat mijn vrije dag!
No worries, doe het met plezier dus lees snel verder voor het laatste filmnieuws, ben dit weekend weer terug met
de volgende update, enjoy:
 Laten we eerst beginnen met het slechte nieuws, Fox Film Co-Chairman Tom Rothman heeft aangekondigd dat een AVP sequel op de planning staat; "We will do another one of those for sure. It was a big success. In the new Alien vs. Predator they will finally actually really come to our world." De Alien en Predator films vonden in de (nabije) toekomst plaats en de teleurstellende AVP film speelde zich af op Antarctica. Het vervolg vindt plaats in onze wereld, heden. Ik hoop wel dat deze film R-rated zal worden maar dat betwijfel ik. Source: Sci-fi Wire
Fantastische nieuwe Superman Returns video journal is nu online! In het filmpje wordt de flying sequences uitgelegd... man, I can't wait to see this film!
Paul Verhoeven gaat het boek van Lawrence Taylor, A Trial of Generals, verfilmen. De film krijgt de titel Beast of Bataan en vertelt het verhaal van Lt. Gen. Masaharu Homma's war crimes rechtzaak tijdens WWII. Source: Variety
Chris Tucker gaat een two-picture, $40 million contract tekenen bij New Line. Zijn volgende film wordt... inderdaad, een nieuwe Rush Hour flick! De produktie van Rush Hour 3 gaat dit najaar van start in Los Angeles en Parijs. Jackie Chan vangt ook een flink bedrag van $20 miljoen voor de rol van Chief Inspector Lee. Source: Variety

Eerste trailer van Chan-Wook Park's derde revenge film Sympathy for Lady Vengeance is nu online! De Koreaanse regisseur bracht ons eerder Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance en mijn favoriete film van dit jaar, Old Boy. Check out de trailer asap want die is maar tijdelijk beschikbaar.
Ex-voetbalspeler Vinnie Jones bevestigde dat hij de slechterik Juggernaut gaat spelen in X-Men 3: "I have X-Men 3 to film and that will take six months or so, so I think I might be a bit busy. What's interesting about Juggernaut is that he's the brother of Professor X, and that's why I thought it would be interesting having an English thug opposite Patrick Stewart." Source: Coming Soon

Faces of Death film?!:
AICN ontving interessant nieuws over een nieuwe Faces of Death film!
De film is gebaseerd op de cult video uit de jaren 80 dat een verzameling van afschuwelijke dodelijke ongelukken liet zien.
"Yes, we're in the process of putting together a commercial horror film based on the videotapes FACES OF DEATH," vertelde producer Don Murphy, "Our model will be what they did with the new Chainsaw, only with an original plot, since the tapes didn't really have any. A young, sexy group of kids have to figure out why all these strange deaths are happening in their small town, and they link them back to the original tapes. We'll redo some of the sequences from the original - electrocutions, autopsies, on air suicide, alligators tearing folks apart - scary stuff."

Antonio Banderas en Catherine Zeta-Jones zijn terug voor dit vervolg, Martin Campbell verzorgt weer de regie.

Superhero film update!:
Marvel chief Avi Arad onthuldt dat na Fantastic Four, The Silver Surfer de volgende Marvel film zal worden; "We're just starting, and we are very excited. We are finishing Fantastic Four, and the next thing we'll go on our way to Silver Surfer."
"I think the tricky thing on Silver Surfer, which hasn't been resolved yet," voegt Fox Co-Chairman Tom Rothman toe, "Is the nature of the Surfer and to what extent digital work is used and to what extent it isn't. The digital component is the fundamental component that needs to be resolved, but it's a project that we're very very high on."
Spider-Man regisseur Sam Raimi liet weten dat Sony Pictures van plan is om minimaal 6 Spider-man films te maken!

John Carpenter talks The Fog remake!:
Hehe, I love this interview. John Carpenter sprak met Coming Soon over de remake van zijn horror classic The Fog.
Tom Welling, Maggie Grace en Selma Blair spelen de hoofdrollen, John Carpenter zal alleen optreden als producer. Hij vertelde het volgende over de reden van een remake:
"If everybody else is making remakes and they want to pay me money to make a remake of an old movie of mine why not? It's a good idea. Seriously that's part of the answer, but my ex-partner, Debra Hill, who just recently died, had been trying to get this off the ground. We hooked up with David Foster here who did finally get it off the ground and it was kind of nice for her to see this being made.
The styles are different. The actors are different. The director is different. It's essentially the same story with some basic changes in it. Its fog, ghosts.
I'm just a producer on this. I just sit home and watch basketball games on TV. These guys go out and make this movie. It's designed to be a PG-13 film. Horror has really changed a lot. It used to be a lot much more hard core. Today it's drifting towards PG-13 and you know getting girls in and girls don't like yucky stuff, you know what I mean."

Matthew Vaughn on X-Men 3:
Regisseur Matthew Vaughn sprak met About.com over zijn eerste big budget film, X-Men 3.
Vaughn is van plan om zijn stempel te drukken op dit vervolg:
"I think fantasy should all be based in reality, and then it becomes believable. You have to be able to relate to the characters. X-men was pretty good because you saw the flaws and the conflict that they're going through, but I think that conflict needs to be expanded on. I wanted the villains to be less cartoony. At the moment, I think a lot of moustache twirling happened in the last films. I want to get rid of that and make the villains really scary and more realistic."
De regisseur zal de film een ruige look geven en zo weinig mogelijk CGI gebruiken: "Gritty doesn't mean violent. I liked how Joss Whedon dealt with everything. That's more of my sentiment. I hate CGI. I'm trying to do everything in camera. Listen, there are times you have to use CGI, but I want to do as much in camera as possible."
Hij geeft ook zijn mening over de kritiek van de X-men comic fans: "Fine, let them hate it. As long as I don't have to sit down in a room with them, it doesn't bother me. You can't please everyone. If you start making a movie thinking, 'Well, I've got to please this…' If you make a good movie, that's all that matters. The comic book fans can read the comics and be happy with the comics. If they don't like it, don't go watch it. Veto the movie. But if you like it, support it."
Ouch, Matt, hier moet je mee oppassen, handle the fans with care, cause they can make or break the film.

Legolas talks Pirates Of The Caribbean sequels:
Orlando Bloom vertelde meer over zijn rol als Will Turner in de Pirates Of The Caribbean sequels:
"Going back to it has been just a lot of fun. I'm trying to recapture the same character and let him develop in ways that are interesting. We're not just trying to rehash the same old thing.
Obviously at the end of the first movie you see him in the clutches of Elizabeth. But the course of true love never runs smooth in love in life, does it? So a few things come up and he goes off on another journey to save Elizabeth and the lives of everybody else. But I think he's going to assume more of the pirate's role and and by the end of the third movie there's a few dark twists to the character of Will Turner and I think people are going to wonder what his motives are and what he's all about."
Johnny Depp en Keira Knightley zijn ook weer te zien in de sequels, nieuwe karakters worden vertolkt door Stellan Skarsgard en Keith Richards als Jack Sparrow's dad. Gore Verbinski regisseert de Pirates Of The Caribbean 2 and 3.

Justin Timberlake speelt naast zijn vrouw Cameron Diaz, Mike Myers, Antonio Banderas en Eddie Murphy in Shrek 3. Timberlake gaat de stem verzorgen van een jonge King Arthur. Source: USA Today
Meryl Streep heeft getekend voor een rol in de komedie The Devil Wears Prada. David Frankel regisseert de film dat gebaseerd is op Lauren Weisberger's bestselling novel. Source: The Hollywood Reporter

Peter Jackson talks King Kong!!!:
Peter Jackson sprak met Three Monkeys Online over de King Kong remake!
Hij vertelde over zijn eerste kennismaking met de grote aap en welke elementen van de originele film ook worden gebruikt voor de remake:
"When I saw King Kong, when I was nine years old, it did make me want to become a film maker. I think the original Kong is a wonderful blend - possibly the most perfect blend - of escapism and adventure and mystery and romance. It transports you and takes you places that you are never going to see and experiences that you are never going to have and it has that wonderful mixture of emotion and fantasy. I want to try to do a version of Kong that basically catches the wonderful, mysterious adventure. With modern technology and computers you can obviously do an incredibly photo-realistic gorilla. Take all the elements of the story...Kong fighting dinosaurs on the island, Kong taking Ann up the Empire State Building and the biplanes and all that stuff...and imagine it being very realistic! It's exciting just to think about that. So that's a reason to do it."
Jackson heeft wel het een en ander veranderd voor zijn versie en introduceert ook een aantal nieuwe karakters:
"We wanted to develop more of the ship's crew and the filming crew who are on the island to make a movie, so that we got to meet more people. It's always a good idea if you are going to kill them off too. We realised that we had a lot of dino fodder to deal with here. We are going to have a lot of these people get eaten and die horrible deaths during the course of the event and it's always more powerful if you get to know somebody before you bump them off. "
Uiteraard werd veel aandacht besteed aan het creëren van de nieuwe Kong:
"We are really taking a bull gorilla, a Silverback, and making him look very ancient. I wanted Kong to look old because he has been around for a while. I wanted him to look pretty battle scarred, so we are giving him some very distinctive scarring where Tyrannosauruses have raked their claws across him.
I wanted him to be very frightening. think that's a much more interesting thing to do with the character. When you start with the most terrifying, vicious looking gorilla you can imagine and then you start to reveal his heart, you start to peel the layers away and you start to see his soul and his heart. He is the furthest thing away from cute that you could imagine and I think that's the more interesting approach to take. So he's frightening."

Ander Robert Rodriguez nieuws, The Arnoldfans.com plaatste een schokkend bericht over John Milius die voor de nieuwe Conan film wordt vervangen door Rodriguez: "We also learned Milius and company were clearing out there desks! They are leaving WB once and for all. John Milius had a 5 year contract to be on the WB lot, however, after WB gave Conan away to Rodriguez, they decided they did not need Milius and kicked him off the lot without renewing his contract." Rodriguez is een geweldige regisseur maar alleen Milius kan een goede Conan film maken. Sad but true, folks....
IESB.net heeft sappige Transformers info ontvangen! Michael Bay bevestigt dat hij Transformers zal regisseren en dat de pre-productie in volle gang is. In december beginnen ze met filmen, het script moet overigens nog wel afgerond worden.

gebaseerd op Steve Martin's bestseller.

George Lucas talks Indy IV!!!:
George Lucas sprak met Hollywood.com over zijn toekomstige projecten,
waaronder een oorlogsfilm:
"I'm producing a film that I've been sort of working on for 15 years, and it's time I finished it. It's about African-American fighter pilots during World War II. I'll be producing, and hopefully we're going to do it sooner than later. As I said, it's been going for a long, long time. I've still got to get a script out of it."
Interessant, George, maar hoe zit het met Indiana Jones IV? Hij vertelde het volgende:
"I talked to Steven while I was in Hawaii, and he said the script is done and he was going to send it to me when I got back, which was yesterday. It isn't on my desk today and he's coming up tomorrow to see Star Wars, so I assume he'll bring it with him.
I came up with this idea doing Young Indy, which has got to be about seven or eight years ago, and we've been through a number of scripts--six or eight scripts. Six scripts, two rewrites. So it's been down the path. There were certain aspects of it that Steven and Harrison [Ford] didn't like, and so we changed those, and then we laid out a version and it didn't come out the way it was supposed to, and then we did another version and it didn't come out, so we've just been going through this development hell, which happens once in a while. We'll see. When it comes out, it'll be different. Different, but the same."
Er zijn geruchten dat een nieuw karakter geïntroduceerd zal worden die uiteindelijk Indy zal vervangen. "It's possible, not really to take over," legt Lucas uit, "No, it wasn't meant to be that way. But I guess that's a possibility. It's really to wrap it up. Just desperately trying to put things together that work. You need characters to make the film work. It's not just an adventure story. There's actually got to be human relationships in it."
