Newsflash:
 Burt Reynolds speelt mee in de remake van The Longest Yard. Hij vertolkt de rol van de coach van een groep gedetineerden (gespeeld door o.a. Adam Sandler en Chris Rock) die geforceerd worden om tegen de bewakers te voetballen (American Football that is). Reynolds speelde de hoofdrol in de originele versie. Source: Variety
Er is weer een naam toegevoegd aan de cast van Sin City. Naast Bruce Willis, Josh Hartnett, Mickey Rourke zien we nu ook Nick Stahl in de Robert Rodriguez/Frank Miller film. Source: The Hollywood Reporter

Peter Jackson talks King Kong:
Lord of the Rings regisseur Peter Jackson sprak met Entertainment Weekly over de King Kong remake
en vertelde hoe hij het projekt gaat aanpakken:
"We are not reinventing it, our story follows the same structure. It starts in New York, goes to Skull Island, and there's dinosaurs on the island. Then it comes back to New York and there's the Empire State Building and the biplanes and the whole thing."
He says that one thing they're trying to do that the original didn't is to make it more "emotionally truthful. I put that ahead of anything else, including technology and the realism of the effects.
Everybody's image of 'King Kong' is that it's this amazing beauty-and-the-beast love story. And when you look at the original film, there is as sense that Kong is feeling an attraction toward Ann-probably the first empathy he's felt in his life toward another living creature. But Ann is not giving him a thing. She just looks at him as an object of horror the entire time. She screams at him, she's terrified. Her relationship with Kong doesn't go beyond that. We're having a lot of fun making it more psychologically real."
De cast bestaat uit Naomi Watts als King Kong's love interest, Adrien Brody en Jack Black.

Producer talks Spider-man 2:
Spider-man 2 producer Laura Ziskin heeft haar best gedaan om het vervolg een stuk beter te maken dan
het eerste deel. De film heeft meer drama en natuurlijk actie:"We were just trying to build on the first one. The great thing about 'Spider-Man' is the characters: What we tried to do is, every character has a continuing drama in their life -- an evolution and a crisis they're dealing with -- so it was fun to explore. In the first movie, we had the fun of the original story, and that was great -- but in some ways, the benefit of the second movie is that the audience knows these characters and loves them and cares about them."

Regisseur Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Road to Perdition) zal Jarhead maken. De Golfoorlog film is gebaseerd op de memoires van Anthony Swofford. "This is equal parts black humor, honesty, rage, lyricism, profanity and the mixture of machismo jarhead culture. With the exception of 'Three Kings,' this is a war that has been overlooked but which has a burning relevance to what is happening right now in the Middle East," vertelt Mendes. Source: Variety

Bale talks Batman Begins!:
Christian Bale sprak over Batman Begins! Hij vertelde het volgende over de stijl van de film:
"We're making a film based on a much loved graphic novel. I think to use the term 'comic book' really under values the source material!
It is a cross between Serpico and The French Connection mixed with a really fucking cool samurai, kung fu movie, and there's like some really strong 70s conspiracy movie vibes in their too! It is definitely not a Batman that you've seen on screen before."

Man-Thing update:
Acteur Ian Bliss legt uit wat we kunnen verwachten van Marvel's eerste horror film Man-Thing:
"It sticks pretty close to the Marvel comic which was a rather cult comic. It's essentially about a swamp creature and stays quite true to the darkness of how it was drawn in the comic. I play an alligator hunter who patrols this big swamp with his brother. Jack Thompson is involved and he would be the highest profile actor in the piece. What they've done is not attach any name actors and filled it predominantly with Australians in an attempt to let the film work on it's own merit, to allow the film to be a bit darker and riskier than the bubble-gum comic book adaptations we've seen recently. They hope it works for the film but it could also work against it."
Yep, de tijd zal het leren maar ik denk dat het wel een lekkere enge film kan worden. De cast bestaat uit Matthew Le Nevez, Rachel Taylor en
de film is geregisseerd door Brett Leonard (The Lawnmower man).
