ARCHIVES WEEK 18-2003

PICS, PICS, PICS:
Guys, got some pics for ya to start off today's headlines. On your left you'll find the official first Punisher pic! The movie is directed by Jonathan Hensleigh and stars Thomas Jane. Well, I really don't like this pic, he doesn't look as cool as the Punisher I've seen in the comics so at this point I still prefer Dolph Lundgren who played The Punisher back in to 90's (thanks to Superhero Hype). The second pic is the new poster of the Clint Eastwood thriller Mystic River, provided by Dark Horizons who got the world premier with this one. The third one is an awesome one of Jet Li's upcoming Danny the Dog! Click here to see some more. The last pic is a cool Neo vs. Agent Smith pic found at Latino Review click here to see more.

News Flash:
Brett Ratner is out and "Charlie's Angel" director McG could be back on board for Superman! McG was originally attached to the Superman movie but left the project for the Charlie's Angels sequel. source: AICN

Dark Horizons reports that Chevy Chase is up for the role of Dr. Davis in the Garfield live action movie.

Batman Year One could be delayed. Director Darran Aronofsky wrote the script with comic artist Frank Miller (who created the Batman Year One comic). Warner Bros owns the screenplay and he understands that they are very protective of the Batman franchise and is unsure what will become of it. Aronofsky mentioned that Batman will not be his next movie...

Hayden Christensen talks Episode III at Yahoo Movies: "It's not in the story if we begin from where we left off." - So, no heavy breathing? No black mask? - "None of that. As far as I know. But that's very little," he says. "George Lucas is notorious. He keeps it all very secretive."

Tomorrow I'm going to see X2, this movie seems to be the biggest movie of the year. All the major moviesites are going wild on this one, they all love it! Harry from AICN got the balls to say this movie could top Matrix Reloaded...Well, now I really must see this movie right now!!!! Check out Harry's excellent X2 review by clicking HERE

Identity took over the number one spot last weekend. The thriller starring John Cusack and directed by James Mangold (Copland) finally brought down Anger Management from its throne. 1. Identity - $17 million
2. Anger Management - $16 million / $104.5 million since opening
3. Holes - $13 million / $36.8 million

The Wild Bunch Remake:
David Ayer, one of the hottest screenwriters at the moment has been hired by Warner Bros to remake Sam Peckinpah's classic western The Wild Bunch. The remake will be a modern day version set around a group of individuals robbing some Mexican drug cartels. David Ayer also wrote Dark Blue and the superb Training Day.

Two Towers final box office results:
My favorite movie of 2002 The Two Towers hits the number 5 spot of biggest movies worldwide ever! The second LOTR movie bumped it's predecessor to number 7 and earned an impressive $910 million. The two movies together have grossed $1.8 billion worldwide. In case you wonder, the rest of the top five includes at 1. Titanic, 2. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, 3. Star Wars Episode I - The Phantom Menace and 4. Jurassic Park.
