Newsflash:
Hi guys, geen grote headlines vandaag maar wel een paar aardige newsbits. Volgende update is dit weekend:
 Peter Segal, regisseur van The Longest Yard en 50 First Dates, gaat de superheldenfilm Shazam! maken! Ik weet alleen niet zeker of een komedie-regisseur de juiste man voor de taak is, I'll keep you posted. Source: The Hollywood Reporter
Jeff Daniels speelt naast Jon Heder en Diane Keaton in de komedie Mama's Boy. Heder's leven krijgt een frisse wending wanneer zijn moeder een nieuwe vriend krijgt. Source: Variety
Zangeres Alicia Keys gaat nu ook acteren in The Nanny Diaries, een film met Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Laura Linney en Paul Giamatti. Johansson speelt een jonge vrouw die door een rijke familie wordt ingehuurd als nanny. Source: Variety

Newsflash:
Will Smith gaat de hoofdrol spelen in de actiefilm Greenbacks. De film vertelt het verhaal van massa-productie van vals geld met als doel om de wereld economie uit balans te brengen.
Remember de geweldige anime flick Wicked City? Een Duitse filmmaatschappij brengt binnenkort een live-action versie dat geregisseerd zal worden door Spawn's Mark Dippe.
Cool nieuws voor de Limp Bizkit fans (me included), frontman Fred Durst maakt zijn regiedebuut met de independent film The Education of Charlie Banks. Jesse Eisenberg (The Squid and the Whale) is te zien in de hoofdrol.

Jeff Daniels talks The Three Stooges:
Jeff Daniels sprak over de geruchten dat hij gaat spelen in The Three Stooges film van de Farrelly Brothers.
Volgens diverse websites zouden de andere rollen vertolkt worden door Russell Crowe en Benicio Del Toro. Gelukkig zorgt Jeff Daniels voor meer duidelijkheid, check this out:
"We're in negotiations? Are we in negotiations? I saw the Farrellys in New York two years ago... Pete and Bobby said 'Hey, we're doing The Three Stooges, do you think you could play Larry?' I said, 'I'm 6'3,' they were like 5'5." They were talking about Russell Crowe, Benicio Del Toro and they're like 6'3.
What they've got to do is get a script they like, but I think they're working on something else right now, to be honest. Then they're going to cast Mo and whoever Mo is they will cast the other guys off that. They'd love me to do it, I said sure I'm interested. But if they hire someone who's 5'7" I won't be doing it. But there are no negotiations, but we did talk about it."

Jeff Bridges talks Tideland:
Jeff Bridges en regisseur Terry Gilliam werken weer samen na hun laaste film The Fisher King uit 1991. De fantasy film Tideland
vertelt het verhaal van een jong meisje dat opgevoed wordt door haar junkie/rocker vader, gespeeld door Bridges.
De acteur sprak over Gilliam en Tideland:
"I remember when he first told me about this project, and I said, 'Well, you can count me in.' It took him years to get it off the ground, but then, once it got going, it was just so great. He creates such a wonderful atmosphere to work in and is so kind of inclusive and really wants you to give everything you've got. He's really open to your ideas. It was just a dream working with him again.
It's based on a book by Mitch Cullen called Tideland, and it's one of the most bizarre films I've ever seen and certainly been involved in. It's bizarre for even Terry, so that's saying quite a bit. It deals with a little girl. I guess you could say it's about the power of the imagination and, in a very rough way, it kind of parallels Alice in Wonderland. There are some aspects of it. I play this young girl's father, an old rock-and-roller. It was a lot of fun for me, for a number of reasons, but one was because I got to sing and play some music in it. I played a song called Van Gogh in Hollywood that my good friend John Goodwin wrote. So that was kind of a big plus for me, making that movie."

J.J. talks M.I.!:
Regisseur J.J. Abrams sprak over de actie thriller Mission: Impossible III! Natuurlijk had hij genoeg te melden
over de grote ster van de film, Tom Cruise, maar gelukkig onthulde hij ook een paar interessante details over de grote bad guy van de film
die vertolkt wordt door Oscar-winnaar Philip Seymour Hoffman:
"On the face of it, if you say, "Phil Hoffman and Tom Cruise are gonna be matched intellectually and physically," you think, "Tom Cruise will probably kick his ass." But when you see this movie, Phil Hoffman is so imposing and so scary and brutal. He infuses the role with wit and honesty. There's nothing worse than a bad guy who feels flimsy or arch.
Even though the lines he has in the trailer are wildly over-the-top, that exchange suits him in that moment. I don't think we've seen Ethan Hunt go up against somebody so dangerous.
We laughed all the time. Phil's sense of humor is wonderful and dry and self-deprecating. I actually met him years ago, just after college. He has incredibly strong opinions about how he wants to play something, but he takes notes and suggestions and incorporates them into what he does. While he's very serious, he is in no way one of those Actors with a capital A. All he cares about is that what he's doing is good. It was an incredibly ego-free set."

Thomas Haden Church talks Spider-man 3!:
Thomas Haden Church, Sandman in Spider-man 3, was onder de indruk van Sam Raimi's regiestijl. Check this out:
"They have the whole movie. I've seen the whole movie - I saw it last summer in animatics. I've seen everything and what Sam does is, and it's what I've been doing since I started shooting in November, is you just get as close to what is animatically configured. You just get as close to that as you can in a live-action setting or stage.
You know Sam, despite all of the airs and graces of this being a hugely successful franchise and action movie and superhero movie, Sam is ultimately a brilliant actor's director. I've described him in more than one interview as like Elia Kazan locked inside of Richard Donner. Even though I think Richard Donner is a great actor's director, too... He's just...he's a very specific actor's director. Raimi's very specific when it comes to performances. He's very specific and he pushes really hard, but it's very rewarding."
