Newsflash:
Hi guys, heb weer mooie posters voor de newsflash van vandaag, ben weer terug met een nieuwe update in het weekend!
 Paul Schrader's The Exorsist: The Beginning krijgt gelukkig nog zijn bioscoop release. De regisseur werd tijdens de productie door de studio ontslagen wegens meningsverschillen over de stijl van de film. Schrader ging voor een psychologische thriller, de studio wilde meer kots en bloed dus Renny Harlin werd aan boord gebracht. Paul Schrader's versie nu dus toch in de Amerikaanse bios vanaf 20 mei! Korte maar indrukwekkende trailer van Tony Jaa's nieuwe vechtfilm Tom Yum Goong is online!
Moviehole heeft een overzicht van het laatste Superman Returns nieuws. De site heeft inside informatie ontvangen over een mogelijke plottwist:"there were some space flight signs on the bustops during last week's filming that give hints about the whole theme of space travel in this film. Lex Luthor is a not only a man with many resources (including financial) but has a stake in space travel....It's a major plot point in the film and part of what lures superman into trouble." Tobe Hooper is terug met een nieuwe horrorfilm genaamd Zombies en de poster ziet erg lief uit! Weer een nieuwe Batman Begins poster, dat is de vijfde binnen enkele weken, is ook op het web verschenen! Klik voor grote versies.

Rob Cohen talks Sinbad:
Regisseur Rob Cohen sprak over zijn nieuwste project, The 8th Voyage of Sinbad. Keanu Reeves
is reeds gecast in de avonturenfilm dat zich tijdens de achtste eeuw in China afspeelt. Cohen denkt dat
Zhang Ziyi een geweldige keus is voor de vrouwelijke hoofdrol en hij heeft ook een aantal acteurs in gedachten
die Sinbad's maatjes kunnen spelen; "Sinbad's got a crew, so it's gonna be a whole interesting group of actors. I've talked to Jet Li, Djimon Hounsou and Hayden Christensen."
Interessant, maar verder nog geen officiële berichten over de cast.
Rob Cohen heeft ook de special-effects veteraan Ray Harryhausen gevraagd als creative consultant. Legendarische stop-motion master Harryhausen, 84 jaar,
bracht in de jaren 50 de avonturen van Sinbad op het witte doek. "I met with him and said, 'I really would be honored if you would be with me on this, since none of us would be here without you.'
What Ray understood in movies like 1958's 'The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad' was how to do action-fantasy-adventure at a time there was no CG. So he's coming out of retirement to be
our creative consultant, our godfather," vertelde Cohen.

Superhero update!:
Superhero Hype heeft twee exclusieve plaatjes
ontvangen! Check out de eerste foto van de Superman Returns shield! Regisseur Bryan Singer is
op dit moment druk aan het filmen in Sydney, de cast bestaat uit Brandon Routh, Kate Bosworth en Kevin Spacey.
De tweede foto is van Ghost Rider's Hell Cycle. Mark Steven Johnson regisseert en de hoofdrollen
worden vertolkt door Nicolas Cage, Wes Bentley, Eva Mendes, Matt Long, Sam Elliott en Peter Fonda.

Snelle remake update; Mummy regisseur Stephen Sommers zal een remake schrijven en regisseren van de sci-fi film uit 1951, When Worlds Collide. Brad Anderson waagt zich aan George Romero's 1972 horror-thriller The Crazies. Source: Variety

Jurassic Park 4 delayed?:
Special effects guru Stan Winston vertelde meer over de status van Jurassic Park 4 :
"It's definitely going ahead. There will be a Jurassic Park IV. We're all very excited at the prospect of working together again, because doing a Jurassic movie is like a big family reunion. Everyone pretty much knows everyone else, so it's a lot of fun. I also enjoy the challenge of once again raising the bar and bringing the world something extraordinary.
Admittedly things have somewhat slowed on the development of the film, as Steven [Spielberg] wasn't very enthused with the first couple of screenplay drafts. I think he felt neither of them balanced the science and adventure elements effectively. It's a tough compromise to reach, as too much science will make the movie too talky, but too much adventure will make it seem hollow. So we're sort of on hold at the moment, just waiting for the written word to be in place, and then it's full steam ahead, baby!"

Newsflash:
George Clooney en Cate Blanchett zijn op dit moment aan het onderhandelen om de hoofdrol te spelen in The Good German. De romantische thriller, dat plaatsvindt tijdens WWII, wordt geregisseerd door Ocean's Twelve's Steven Soderbergh. Source: The Hollywood Reporter
Hilary Duff en Haylie Duff spelen samen in Material Girls. Martha Coolidge regisseert de komedie dat geïnspireerd is op het liedje van Madonna. Hilary Duff zal haar versie van Material Girl opnemen voor de soundtrack van de film... woohoo! Source: Variety

Ridley Scott talks future projects:
Regisseur Ridley Scott sprak met Dark Horizons over een vervolg op Gladiator... en Alien 5!:
"The Gladiator sequel's status is nothing at the moment, but we're trying to find a good solution for a sequel. Logan's script is not quite there yet. Remember there's no Maximus anymore, I think the task is quite difficult...there is a next generation idea but it's very loose at the moment."
Zou Ridley Scott geïnteresseerd zijn in het maken van een nieuwe Alien film als de studio hem een aanbod doet?: "It's all to do with the material, if the script was great - of course."
Dus geen nieuwe Gladiator of Alien film in de nabije toekomst maar Ridley is wel van plan om binnenkort een western en komedie te maken.

Simon Kinberg talks XXX2:
Simon Kinberg, één van de meest gevraagde screenwriters van dit moment, laat weten dat hij met het vervolg op Triple X, XXX: State of the Union, voor een andere aanpak heeft gekozen. Vin Diesel speelt deze
keer niet de hoofdrol maar is vervangen door Ice Cube. Ik was niet zo enthousiast over de film maar het interview met Simon maakt
me toch nieuwsgierig. Here's a clip:
"I liked the first movie, I liked a lot of things about it - the attitude of the film, the action of it, the philosophy of it - but I really didn't want to do a sequel unless he wanted the film to be very different from the first one. It had to be its own animal. There's really no reason to make a sequel unless you can make a better or significantly better version.
One of the first things I wanted to do was to take the movie away from James Bond world and make it more grounded - almost a political thriller. I wanted it to take place in the United States, with an American villain - as opposed to some vaguely European villain who wanted to blow up the world - whose goal was very real and specific. Then, Ice Cube's involvement made the movie even more different than the first film. I think - more exciting.
I just think that director Lee Tamahori was so rigorous with the film - in terms of the action, and in terms of the characters. We just keep honing instead of making compromises. I'm really proud of it; I think it's a very surprisingly different, fresh take, on the franchise."
