ARCHIVES WEEK 15-2003 New Hulk Pic: AICN posted a brand new pic of the Hulkster! Click on the pic to see one mean green fighting machine. ![]() © universal 2003 Editor's note: movieXplosion.com has been on line for almost six weeks now! I've received lots of feedback and I'm going to work on some finishing touches the rest of this week. Newsupdates will of course take place almost daily but you'll see some changes on the design of the site. I'll let you know when I'm ready so I can get some sleep....but thanks to every movie freaks around the globe for visiting my site!!! Superman, Batman and The Matrix: Wanna know what Superman, Batman and the Matrix have in common? One man, that's WB President and Chief Operating Officer Alan Horn. He spilled some really interesting stuff over at AICN, starting with The Matrix: "Matrix Revolutions is going to open at the same exact moment everywhere on the planet (So it would open at midnight in the U.S., for instance, and at noon halfway around the world). First time this has been done. A trailer for Revolutions will follow the END of the credits for Reloaded." Superman vs. Batman: "We will do it. It's dark and mean-spirited but really, really good. The plan is to have Superman and Batman origin stories released within the same year (starting in 2005). Each movie (I think he said there would be three of each?) will deal with the Superheroes' origins and began to establish their relationship to each other which will set up "Superman vs. Batman" to follow the backstories. Superman and Batman find themselves at odds in "Superman vs. Batman" when Bruce goes out seeking bloody vengeance on the murderer of his new bride, Jennifer. Superman opposes him, fights him to the near death - then it's discovered that the guy behind Jennifer's murder is also this big baddie in Superman's circle and they unite to fight or something sweet like that." Superman movie: "J.J. Abrams' script for Superman: Horn was put off by the idea initially but after reading the script, liked it a lot - especially the nuances of the Clark Kent character. Also, feels it's important to get an ACTOR, a great ACTOR, to be Clark. The Clark/Superman difference can't just be about taking the glasses off anymore." This is one great scoop, I really can't wait for the Superman vs. Batman project, let ME know who could win this fight! Click here to read the rest of the story. The First Dutch Martial Arts Movie!: A buddy of mine called Ron Smoorenburg dropped me a message yesterday about a movie called "Fighting Fish". This movie happens to be the very first Dutch martial arts film ever. Now, for those who doesn't know Ron Smoorenburg, I advise you to see Jackie Chan's "Who Am I" right freaking now and fast forward to one of the best final fights scenes you've ever seen. Ron's fighting Jackie with amazing kicks on top of a skyscraper in Rotterdam! Smoorenburg played in several Hong Kong movies like Andrew Lau's Avenging Fist. Now it's time to make a martial arts film in the LowLands. The cast of Fighting Fish also includes Kim Ho Kim, Chantal Janzen, Jennifer de Jong and is directed by Jamel Aatache. I'll keep you posted on this one... Visit Fighting Fish ![]() © websoft 2003 Pirates of the Caribbean: This month Jerry Bruckheimer starts a giant campaign to promote his upcoming swashbuckler "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl". The movie is based on the famous Disneyland ride and is directed by Gore Verbinski (The Ring, Mousehunt). The cast includes Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Geoffrey Rush. Bruckheimer already loves the movie: "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl is going to be an action-filled spectacular with groundbreaking visual effects -- and this first look is the best way to get the word out on this amazing movie. The different characteristics of the actors come through when they become skeletons. There is some skin, hair, clothes, eyeballs. In other words, you can pick these bones apart from one another. In the tale, Barbossa and his sailors hijack Depp's ship, the Black Pearl, and kidnap the governor's beauteous daughter (Keira Knightley of Bend It Like Beckham), who holds the key to breaking their curse and becoming mortal again. The pirates can't enjoy the pleasures in life - food, sex, any of those things. They just are consumed with greed. What Barbossa really wants is a nice green apple to bite into." The movie will be action adventure with a bit of romance and a few good laughs, the script is co-written by Sherk's Ted Elliot and Terry Rossio. Check out the fab poster and a great pic of Geoffrey Rush. source: coming soon
More Punisher details: Earlier this week I mentioned that Thomas Jane will play the Punisher, Variety has some more info on the movie:"The movie is a throwback to the great righteous revenge movies of the 1970s like 'Walking Tall' and 'Dirty Harry,' " said Artisan Pictures production prexy Richard Saperstein. "Tom is a real actor who gives weight to what will be a gritty R-rated film. This is not some special effects movie with a guy running around in spandex." Thank God, an R-rated superhero flick, could be awesome. Jonathan Hensleigh will make his directorial debut with The Punisher. He also was involved as writer/producer on Armageddon, Con Air and Die Hard with a Vengeance. Source: superherohype
Die Hard 4 details: Actionadventure.com talked to producer Arnold Rifkin about Die Hard Part 4. The rumour that Britney Spears plays a part in de movie was false according to Rifkin: "That is the most amazing thing that I've ever heard", he also talk about finding a right script, "Let's face it, Bruce ain't jumping off buildings anymore because he ain't going to land that well. We want to do it, and we are in active pursuit. We have probably met with 30 writers, and the biggest questions that you ask yourself - because one day if we do do it we'll be sitting here with you, and you're going to say why did you this movie? So, the reality is, who is he? It's eight years later. What is he doing, what happened when he was rebellious, he was never within the system, and you can't have him in the right place at the wrong time again. Do you bring Sam back? Do bring Sam's son back and somehow Sam gets killed and whatever, and because of their relationship Bruce adopts? What would make sense to any of you that you would be willing to accept that he's now doing this again? Because he ain't leaping from buildings, we've done planes, we've done buildings. What is it you do? And you don't want to do terrorists, because then we're going to sit here and you're going to say, 'Wasn't that irresponsible of you to put terrorists back in the White House?' Or do you want to put terrorists in Yankee Stadium, where the biggest event is? And that's unfortunately what people, writers come up with. So we will do it if the right story comes." Here's a detailed description: Few film collectibles have the presence and eye-catching appeal as this TX female Terminator head. The replica will have a high-quality black-chrome finish, adding a menacing lustre. It includes the head and neck portion of the robot and is mounted on a sleek base with a TX name plate and the film title: 'Rise of the Machines'. The entire display lights up with the same eerie blue glow as the original, including the strobing, breathing effect of the lights seen in the film. Click on the pic to see a larger version.
